Have you ever been in dire need of money when going to school? Schools should pay students to get good grades and go to class because some students don’t have enough money at home, and It helps teach students to save money and properly use it. The payments also help students by showing them how getting a real job would be, by paying them they get used to getting paid for work and My first point being that Poorer family's would also benefit from this secondary or third source of income and the student would get a good reason to get educated instead of going straight to a job. This could also help the economy. Paying kids and teens that come from poor family's can help reduce poverty and bring poor family's more money for things like food and toiletries. In a city called Memphis a place named Foote Homes is located. Foote Homes is full of single mother households and parents with low income. To help with this low income and large areas of poverty the government decide to choose 600 family's to participate in the Family Rewards program. This program rewards students for getting good grades and attending class, this extra income boosts the amount of money that poor family's have allowing them to buy more things that they're family needs. This would lower the poverty rate and help the country's economy by helping poorer students …show more content…
This gives students some experience for when they get an actual job, The students will already be used to getting paid to work so the transition from school to an actual job will be much smoother. Some students might not feel ready to transition to a job and/or might be afraid of change, but if the school had paid them for work before then they would have no problem with getting a job and getting paid for work. This would help students get jobs quicker and help the
Many high school students have a job that they go to after school which takes up their time that they could be using for homework and studying. If we were to pay these students for their good grades then they would no longer have the need for a job and could get even better grades and would even be able to take harder classes because of the extra time they would have to study and for homework. With the extra time that students would receive they could progress their education even
Would you pay your child for getting good grades?, or would you like to get paid for your good grades? Parents have payed their children for their proficiency several times, and people are starting to realize what a magnificent idea this is. People believe that this can make kids try harder and it can help them gain more knowledge. Others think this could be an unsuitable theory because it makes kids only want to learn for the money. In my opinion, paying kids for good grades is an excellent suggestion.
“Why can’t I make money for going to school? ” That’s a common complaint from most students. However, in my opinion students shouldn’t be paid for school. Students shouldn’t be paid for grades, because it weakens their natural enthusiasm for learning and more. First of all, it will give kids a lower academic performance in the long run. Second of all, it’s artificial learning to offer unrelated incentive. And third of all, the child’s enthusiasm is dampened. By giving students lower academic performances in the long run, offering unrelated incentive, and dampening their natural enthusiasm are the main reasons that we shouldn’t pay students for grades.
By paying them, they would learn many valuable lessons that will help them in the future. Students should be paid for good grades because it encourages them to work harder, it helps the economy and last but not least, it will allows students to gain more responsibility and would increase their self-esteem. Some responsibilities would include taking care of their own belongings and learning to spend money when it is only needed. Obviously, being paid for good grades will give a brighter future to students and they will always be confident in themselves at whatever they
Wenlock Edge by Alice Munro is a story from the collection ‘’Too Much Happiness’’, it follows a college student path; living in an attic of an old house with her roommate Nina, a young girl with an unfortunate past. The story was intriguing and atmospheric with subtle and gentle choice of words that demonstrated the nature of Mr. Purvis’s actions and the emotional abuse. The title of the entire story was Wenlock Edge, which is taken from a title of a poem by A.E Houseman, in which the unnamed narratrix read to Mr. Purvis at his house when she was invited for dinner. Munro did not go further beyond a title of a poem that is going to be dealt with in the story; a foreshadowing and an irony at the same time, perfect elements in literature and in constructing a title.
According to PBS News Hour, even if students receive their rewards, there are moments where their parents take the reward away from them, which would leave them with disappointment. Additionally, let’s say a student put all their hard work for an assignment to get the reward (money) but to find out, they only got a ‘C’ as their grade. The effect of this can simply decrease their motivation for school and leave them in despair. To sum it up, if students were to get paid for grades, it will then again, leave them with frustration for not getting the desired grades or rewards.
People don’t work their hardest for no money, so why would students try their hardest in school for no reward except praise. Praise isn’t enough anymore now days. Students right now will be the running the world in about 6 short years. Students should get paid for good grades because it’s how it gonna be when they older you work hard and get work done you get paid. “Cash-for-grades programs may jump-start students’ motivation by providing real-world rewards for their effort and performance “ (greatschool staff).
The belief that everyone should have the right to be educated and attend post secondary school for free is very controversial. Different countries have different education systems, but one thing is clear in most of this country’s and that is education costs money. Education today is becoming more of a privilege rather than a right. The government should offer free education to any student that has been accepted to college or university, but cannot afford to pay the tuition.
One of the main reasons to paying students is that it might help the people that are having trouble stay in school. In the article “should you bribe your kids to get good grades”. In paragraph 13 it said that “it could be a way to get them a jump-start to get them to try a little bit harder”. Someday i do not want to come to school but if i knew i was going to get paid for grades i would be up here all day. Some schools or parents don't think kid or students should get paid. They think they should be able to do it without getting paid. But i still believe that whatever u have to do to keep your kids in school is a good idea. Paying student helps them stay in school.
In conclusion, students should be paid to do well in school because it has many benefits to the student. Those benefits include motivation to get good grades, the money would help the student financially, and the student would learn how to manage their money more effectively. School is a big part of every person’s life, so it should be more rewarding to the
Poorer students can support themselves, and their families. This would let smart students that are held back by their family’s financial situation shine in the education system. If they did well enough and get good enough grades, consistently, they could even have their college paid for. This could then help them get a good job, and make their family richer, which would help their parents and siblings.
For over 50,000 years school has been in existence. In many of those years, students haven’t been paid any cash for their good work. I think this should change. students will be more excited to learn, they will get into a better college, and students aren’t allowed to have jobs. These are reasons why I think that students should get paid for getting good grades.
The best idea hers is for students to get paid so their school can increase in knowledge. The test scores would increase by studying harder. Also if the students are in more classes, they would still maintain the average grade. Average grade is passing so, the students would pass the class their being paid in. For example, author Quinonez says, “A child with no desire to learn will only learn because of the reward offered.
If students were paid for grades, there would be less money for field trips and other school activities. Many of these students aren’t on track to graduate from high school, much less go on to college. New York City’s Spark program (now in its second year), awards fourth- and seventh-graders cash for high achievement on a series of math and reading tests throughout the year. A fourth-grader can earn up to $250 a year, while a seventh-grader can earn up to $500 (Greatschools Staff,
I’ve been assuming that the parents would pay the students for their good grades, and I am going to continue to do so when I give this reason. It wouldn’t be fair. I say this because, some parents don’t make much, some don’t even have a job. If you have this student being paid, because his or her parents can afford it, and another student not being paid, there would be issues. Not only could it cause problems with students being ridiculed, the unpaid students could probably be less likely to succeed, if money was a common motivation for all
