Behind every college, there is an organization of students who volunteer their time in order to create fun and memorable events. During the Brookdale semester, there is a great deal of lively experiences students should take advantage of. The Student Life Board is responsible for most of the entertaining occasions taken place on campus.
The Student Life board meets in the lower level of the Student Life Center in room 110. “We have office hours that are different than meetings, for example, general managers need to fulfill an hour for their office hours each week,” said Rishika Khosla, a 19-year-old Business major from Eatontown; who also serves as student life board secretary.
On Halloween 2017, the board met for a brief meeting. Since their meeting was cut short, they decided to celebrate the holiday by throwing a party with food and music. During this meeting, they discussed the top five events they can all do together. The top five events were: sports day/picnic, a family dinner/cultural night, bowling, a man vs. zombies themed manhunt game and a trip to an arcade.
The group decided to have a sports day/picnic for themselves. The SLB enjoys picking different activities for them to do during their meetings. This week they are having their Halloween party and next week is
Throughout the years of being a student at Council Rock, I have come to the realization of what a true leader is. A leader is not someone that just plans events, collects money, or shows up to meetings. Rather, this is someone that has a true connection with their peers, and has unmatched passion for what they do. With this, I can confidently say that since seventh grade, as a young adult, I have been shaped into an individual that fits these traits. Since that time, I have been involved in student government,

Leadership role as of now is fairly proficient. I do not have all the opportunities as a nursing student on the floor to apply leadership on the floor often. It has been a little challenging since for right now, I am following and not leading. After the end of the baccalaureate program, I will be applying leadership to my place of work and will be an advance beginner. A year after the licensure, I am hoping to be proficient and competent on leadership nursing competency and still continue to build from there by influencing good behavior and taking charge and be a leader sharing acquisition/achievement goals.

When I found out I qualified to be a candidate for the NJHS, I knew I had to take this chance. This group is made up of people who depict leadership, character, citizenship, academic success, and service and I would love to join. These characteristics wouldn't just be valuable for a candidate to have, but for everyone to have to exceed in life. If I were to be in the National Junior Honor Society, it would give me an opportunity to ameliorate my future and motivate me to do better.
At the start of the semester, my oblivious state of nature associating with the Chinese culture reached an unacceptable level. Implementing a necessary change, I decided to educate myself on different cultures starting with China. I failed to ponder that such a rich, deep culture existed outside America. Encompassed by this country’s unique yet suffocating melting pot culture, my outlook believed ideas such as uniformity between American Chinese food and Authentic Chinese food. After this course, my bigot perspective widened as I witnessed diversity in the world. Before this class, when I thought of Chinese food, my connotation jumped to thoughts associated with chop suey, but as I progressed my education, my mindset gradually pondered foods like steamed buns or “New Year Cakes” with authentic Chinese food.
Following the assumptions by Van Parijs, we could also question whether women's higher life expectation could be due to biological reasons. In order to introduce this topic, we can use Paula Casal's Love not war. On the chemistry of good and evil. She develops during her article the main biological reasons for different life expectations by sex.
As I thought of this article, many of the issues I have faced as a single Hmong woman in her mid-twenties came to mind. Should I discuss the functional reasons why marriage is so important in the Hmong culture, especially for women? Or do I talk about the lack of eligible, older Hmong men? Better yet, should I complain about the attempts by my relatives to find me a good husband as if it were an unfortunate circumstance that I was single instead of a conscious choice? Thinking it over, though, I decided that all those questions boiled down to one fundamental truth – the Hmong community is still trying to learn how to treat the increasing number of Hmong women who, like me, are making the choice to stay single in their mid-twenties.
