For the past few decades man is advancing into the unknown realms of technology and science. This advancement is to make life easy and to increase human comfort at home and at work. I would like to be an integral part of crew that drives the world to such betterment. For this, research would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the subject. Since a good research career can only be built on the firm foundation of good education, I intend to put to use my innate and acquired knowledge to do my Masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering. This would give me the leading edge in technology and will also serve to give direction to my eventual goal of a career as a research professional in the field of Embedded Systems. It was in my schooling; I worked on a transformer and built 12volts step down transformer based on coil ratios that I studied in the physics book. On one end there is a small torch light bulb connected to output of transformer and on the input end, there is 230 volts AC power. I eagerly switched on the supply expecting the bulb to glow. But, to my dismay, all home appliances went off. Fortunately, it was the fuse at power meter that was blown. And, I didn’t get why the experiment, I built based on the theory in my book, ended in chaos. Having joined in RGUKT, university with motto of learn by doing and concept of e-learning, I became the teacher of mine. I resumed my incomplete experiment with much increased coil turns maintaining the same ration as before. This time, it was amazing to find how the same theory on transformer led to a successful result. What I learnt in my schooling, in fact, is fundamentally same as I studied now. However, as leve... ... middle of paper ... ...ogically advanced country, U.S.A can ensure that the journey in the pursuit of knowledge will neither be deterred nor end. I believe the choice of research is due my ambition in ``being the part of people who bring about the revolutionary changes, rather remaining as individual using these technologies.” Arizona provides me the best opportunity................... My contribution towards the field: In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that I possess the background, the ability and the motivation to make a significant contribution to Computer Engineering and to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. This is testified by my excellent academic record from school through my undergraduate years, where I am at number 4 of my department. My minor degree and good programming skills makes me strong competitor and well deserved to the MS programme. I look forward to joining the Department.

Transformers are widely used in power systems and it is considered as the most essential component of every power system. A transformer is a static device that works on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction and it is used to transfer electrical energy from one circuit to another or in other words it is a device which is used for decreasing or increasing the voltage of an alternating current. Basically there are two types of transformer i.e. step up and step down transformer but in general transformers are classified in different ways, depending upon their use, purpose, construction etc. Therefore transformer sizing helps us to select an appropriate type of transformer based on the purpose and use of transformer for a particular application.
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of educations I have always had an interest in the production of useful materials. In the growing turmoil of today; a world full of global warming and diminishing resources, questions often arise in my mind such as, "can we make a more efficient, more durable and a renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels? and have less of an impact on our environment?" Up to now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine which I aim to fulfil by achieving a degree in Chemical engineering and eventually I will contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate surrounding sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the industry at the present time and how, by working as a team, they contribute to an improved future for the whole world. However, one of the main reasons that has single-mindedly driven me this far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I have read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” While reading this book, I had solidified my understandings of what chemical engineering is all about. Also, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and is something I already study in A-level chemistry, it is something that not only interests me, but is a personal career aspiration of mine. Reading this book gave me a determination to be the person who helps improve the future of the industry and provide an answer to the questions I always ask myself by studying this degree.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
Born in a family of Engineers I inculcated profound enthusiasm to Engineering and practical experimentation with dreams of futuristic ideas. During the childhood days, when my father helped me construct complex mechanical models, my affinity to the machinery related field germinated from observation and association. As I started implementing them, I simply got imbibed into the whirlpool of engineering and this formed the core inspiration to my career.
I felt that practical experience was needed before going on to a postgraduate course. I learned the latest technologies in microprocessor systems, personal responsibility and teamwork. My undergraduate program has given me a strong grasp in basic engineering subjects. I developed a deep interest in the practical course work of electric machines and control systems as it is the foundation to develop projects and technologies that can be effective in solving problems faced by the common man. Excellence in any sphere of life can be achieved through determination, hard work, dedication and dedication....
A versatile individual and an ardent learner in all my chosen fields is how I perceive myself today. My childhood provided me a strong base of integrity and honesty upon which I have built a diverse skill set and a strong commitment to success. I opted for civil engineering as my undergraduate major at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, where my knowledge was enhanced by studying courses on Transportation Engineering and thus my liking for this field become much stronger. During second year of under graduation I went for training in Public Works Department, where I had a practical experience about pavement design and construction.
point in my life in which I need to make a decision on how to proceed with my career.
...y be challenging to us and we will therefore require broad knowledge on different issues. We should also be aware of scientific developments that will solve challenges in an easier manner.
Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from locations is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. Many countries face transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. A trip of about 30 minutes usually takes about an hour or more due to traffic jams. This is seriously impacting productivity and has become a topical issue in the country. The situation is the same in Uganda where I currently work. To this end, Transportation Engineers are needed to design roads/ highways that will stand the test of time, plan effective traffic management systems to reduce
