In a simple word “I WOULD RATHER CHOOS TO DIE HERE THEN TAKING MY KIDS BACK TO INDIA” It’s been almost seven years now things have changed there too much. I was expecting and waiting that the U.S government will make some kind of amnesty program for people like me who just want their kids to live in a safe place and a life free of fear so I can make them a good human being so they can serve the country who has given them the opportunity to thrive in their live. So they can give back to society, so they can put smiles on some other people. But with left no hope here I’m applying a late asylum. My kids have built a life here they have built a hope a career path a way of life. They have soaked the American life and culture in them, now they don’t
remember the horrifying life they had there. My kids are working hard to excel in their study always cutting close to 100% marks in their academic. They want to be a successful and processual and law abide citizens of this country, who has given them the chance to succeed in life. We have life with them here and we are a simple down to earth family.
Therefore, they lose their country in order to gain a better life. As they move they face with
Immigrants must overcome many barriers to succeed in America. First, migrants frequently must learn a new language. Inability to communicate is a critical barrier for accessing the health care system (Urrutia-Rojas, Marshall, Trevino, Lurie, & Minguia-Bayona, 2006). Second, the processes of work and schooling for themselves and their families can be daunting. Lastly, immigrants use the established social network of longer duration residents for reference and knowledge (Nandi, Galea, Lopez, Nandi, Strongarone, & Ompad, 2008). For purposes of this report, there are three different types of immigrant: legal, undocumented, and refugees or persons seeking asylum. All three types of residents want to succeed and achieve their personal dream.

Most people I knew were surprised by this choice. Mostly, everyone who comes to study, stays back. I could not bring myself to stay back because I realized that I simply did not belong in America. As much as I had enjoyed staying there, I wanted to go back home, and there was only one place in the world I thought of as home; India.
It has always been clear to me that education comes at a cost. The cost of going to school in the United States was not a price I had to pay, but my parents. Optimistic and eager, my parents immigrated to the United States in their late 20’s determined to lead a better life than the one they had back home; they craved the American Dream. As I have grown older, I have come to understand that the American Dream was not for them, but for me. I have a plethora of educational and career opportunities that I would not have if my parents stayed in Vietnam.

Ten years ago I came to America from my native homeland of Iran. I came to America as a woman with very little skills, and knowledge of the culture, and with a major language barrier to overcome. One major reason for me leaving my homeland was because wives, mothers, and daughters even in today 's culture and society are still looked upon as homemakers, minorities, and second-class citizens. Upon arriving to America, I knew having little money and a lack of family support, I felt as if my future and dreams were already doomed for the start. The first thing I did when I arrived to America was to attempt to land some sort of job so I could take care of my family. It was not easy, but I was able to secure full time employment at a local daycare
On that fateful day as I stood in my black and pink salmon graduation gown, I pondered on the skills I was equipped with in just 11 months of master 's study and I yearned for more. While these skills have enabled me to function as a research fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) post-graduation, I find myself seeking to enhance them and gain more knowledge. My attendance at professional conferences, registration in short courses, and seeking mentorship can attest to this fact. Thus, in my quest for continued academic and professional excellence, I deem it necessary to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in epidemiology and the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (JHSPH) will be the perfect academic environment in which to do so. Being my alma mater, I witnessed first-hand the quality education offered by the outstanding faculty. The opportunity to work hand in hand with renowned researchers who have made tremendous contributions to various research studies and the prospect of establishing a mentoring relationship with them is held in high regard. Also, the effort at promoting innovative research, cross-cultural diversity, and great alumni networks, are undeniable perks obtainable at JHSPH. No wonder JHSPH is ranked the best academic institution in the public health field nationwide!
“Seriously kid!? You have the whole world at your feet, just pick something already!” he said with an aggravated look upon his face. Mr. Bluemer and I had formed quite the straightforward yet amiable relationship after serving him dinner almost every night in the dining room of the retirement home I worked at. “Mr. Bluemer, it is not that simple. I can’t just pick a job off the top of my head, there are too many things I like!” We had been having this argumentative conversation for a few nights now, ever since my college applications opened. “That’s just it Rebecca, you already know what you like, which means you already know what you should be in the future.” Mr. Bluemer had always been an insightful individual to discuss ideas with. Having gained an abundance of wisdom throughout his 86 years of life, I knew I could turn to him for guidance, but what I did not realize was that he would be the one person to inspire me the most.
Wishing to devote my career to improving performances and solving business challenges faced by Chinese chemical companies, my short-term goal after graduating from Carnegie Mellon is to join a top consulting firm as an IT consultant to further sharpen my skills with real-world business problems. In the long run, I am looking to start my own technical consulting firm, which will not only help local firms build safer and more efficient chemical plants with my chemical engineering expertise, but also assist them in establishing effective information systems, such that they could gain better insights into market trends and demand.

I was raised by a mother who dropped out of college after her first semester and a grandmother who only had a third grade education. Both women taught me how important education was and to continue learning as much as I can. Despite raising seven children alone, my grandmother eventually earned her GED and took several college courses to show her children how important education was. My mother returned to college 20 years after dropping out and earned her a Master’s Degree in Human Services. The determination I saw in them is the reason I decided to continue my education and pursue graduate studies. After six years of work experience in the information technology industry, I have finally decided which field I would like to focus on. I’ve always had an interest in programming ever since taking a technology course in high school. I took what I learned in the course and applied it to the earlier social media sites, such as Blackplanet.com and Myspace.com. I realized that this was becoming a hobby as my friends would ask that I create the layouts for their personal pages using HTML.
The advancement of humanity requires constant effort to know the unknown. Chemists do the interesting job of studying the composition of matter and its properties. Investigating what constitutes the things around us and extracting the useful knowledge from it has always proved beneficial to mankind. I became fascinated by studying chemistry during my last two years of high school. Pursuing my interest, in 2006, I started my bachelors program at Taibah University. Madinah, Saudi Arabia, then in 2012, I started my masters program at Sacred Heart University with expected graduation in Dec 2014. In fact, the education at Taibah University and Sacred Heart University deepened my understanding of chemistry.
As rightly said by Hippocrates “The life so short, the craft so long to learn”. I believe that a good mix of talent and dependability are a crucial and potent mix for success. Honing my skills with a Masters’ degree after completing my Bachelors’ Degree In Physiotherapy, I believe would help me develop an array of cross functional skills. Gaining technical expertise in the subject of physiotherapy and then whetting my skills during my internship, taught me to be precise and scrupulous towards every task at hand. Having successfully pursued this field for nearly 5 years, I believe that, if given a chance, these skills endow me with the knowledge to gain an opportunity to pursue higher studies at your prestigious university.
