Where is my country? The poem No Country for Black Boys by (Joy Priest 1988) represents the sorrowful incident which has happened on Feb, 26, 2012 for Trayvon Martin in Florida. Trayvon Martin was an innocent African-American young boy who bought the iced tea and some skittles. On the way back to his father’s home, he got shot by the neighborhood watch and he treated as a victim because of his skin color. Therefore, no weapon needed to determine them as a victim. Their backgrounds make them guilty and represents the dark skin frightening. Poverty builds insecurity. parents who don’t work and live by government services and help, their children learn the laziness and they figure how lazy they can be to receive benefits. This issue can change their life style to demonstrate all the African-American’s people lack of culture. To clarify Trayvon Martin also has grown up in the poor family. His parents got divorced since he was very young and he was living with only his mother and his brother. Therefore, poverty defined him as a lack of culture African-American boy, and leaded him to be guilty. There is no country for black boys to live. As a matter of fact, African-American people immigrate to America for a better life. Although they miss their friends or may miss their relatives, they become more powerful financially by moving to America and they easily get rid of poverty.
