United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) mission is to provide an accurate and efficient adjudication of benefits. USCIS mission statement is to provide the right benefit to the right person in a reasonable amount of time. I personally can contribute to USCIS mission by providing good customer service, accurate adjudication and serve my co-workers. As an Immigration Officer, on a daily basis, try to provide good customer service. In order to provide good customer service I need to be very attentive to each individual situation. For example I received a note from an applicant that her husband abused her and threatened to kill her if she did not help him immigrant to the U.S. She said her daughter was in Pakistan and her
husband threatened to kill the daughter if she did not help him to come to U.S. I provided good customer service in a time of difficult for the women by informing the women about USCIS programs to protect abused women and also coordinating with The State Department to not give her husband a visa. In the end, I contributed to the mission of USCIS to fighting against violence against women and helping a green card holder to bring her daughter safely to the United States. I think that providing good customer service is not only for our customers but also co-works. To me co-workers are also customers. I always strive to be professional in my dealings and communicate with co-workers. Doing my work in a professional manner allows us to be efficient and helps USCIS contribute to the mission of the agency. United We Dream is a non 501(c)(3 )organization that has been present since the beginning of the DREAMers movement. In summary, as a customer representative, I have been in unpleasant situations that have required me to calm irate customers. I’ve discovered first hand, that an apology is worth a thousand words; from experience, I understand the impact of being a great listener, especially when dealing with irate customers. However, we know that providing great customer service doesn’t end with apologizing, or being a tentative listener. It is our duty as CSR’s to go above and beyond providing customer satisfaction. We must show our customers that we value and appreciate their services, by providing them with the value of service they will appreciate. In the process we will gain loyal customers, prevent customer defections and generate free advertising by word-of mouth.

I work at Geneva Ace Hardware. My most important job, among my many duties, is to help customers. Usually everything goes ok, but there are always a few customers that can be hard to deal with. I’ve had to deal with Mexicans who can barely speak English. I’ve had to deal with Mexicans who use their 5 year old children/grandchildren as translators. I once had to deal with a Canadian couple whose accent was so rich; I would have about a 30 second delayed response to try to convert their English into my English. Then there are the people who just won’t accept my help because I’m only a kid. None of these people compare to the dude that was deaf.
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction.
