Winter break was awesome and much needed. It was so tempting to just give up and not return to Pace for my spring semester, but there was still a small part of me that wanted to make my lifelong dream of living in New York City work. I returned to school slightly more optimistic and miraculously acne-free. I was determined to make spring semester my bitch. In the beginning of fall of 2016, I got a job as a medical assistant. It’s long process to get this sort of job, at least with the University of Utah so when I finally went through the orientation, lab training, computer training, and community clinics I got to work and realized there was, even more, training. Every clinic has its personal preferences and rules, so I had to start from scratch with the training I already had. As soon as I got therenoticeI was a given a quick tour of the clinic and given all the rules, passwords and regulations. It was already too much to handle, but I was memorizing as much as I could. I spent much of the day sitting at my desk wondering what I could do to make myself look busy. I was not given any instructions upon my arrival and I was never really given instructions in general throughout the entire experience. I expected someone to take me under their wing and show me exactly what to do on a daily basis. The hardest thing for a lot of students is keeping a clean bedroom. It can be very intimidating to clean your bedroom, especially if its been a a disaster for quite some time. You may find yourself getting overwhelmed and asking yourself where should you even start? Well in my experience I have had the best results just by following three very simple steps, which include creating a good cleaning environment, getting organized, and finally polishing everything up.

I like to keep my belongings organized. Although it does get messy, it won’t bother me unless it’s everywhere. I also used to be strictly all about achieving my goals and I tend to get anxious if I don’t get things done ahead of the deadline. But I’ve learned to give myself a break and some leisure time because being so hard on myself about my work and my grades isn’t good for my health.
