Ok, let's talk about my new obsession - Snapchat (You can follow me at alinaermilova)! The main reason why I love this platform so much is because of its realness and how you can basically see what people are up to in real time, instead of seeing a curated image on Instagram (still love Instagram though!). More and more people start using Snapchat every single day and it's one of the fastest growing social media platforms right now, which is totally not surprising, as Snapchat allows us to get as close to real life as possible. So, how can you gain followers there? The biggest struggle with Snapchat is that you can't see a person's story until you follow them and there's no discovery page. Whether you're a blogger, a business or simply want some action on your personal account, here are 5 tips on how to build a following on Snapchat: 1. Tease your Snapchat story on other social media platforms. This is probably the biggest tip I can give you. To spark interest in your account, you have to offer people a …show more content…
Get personal. This is what Snapchat is all about! Nobody wants to see curated images and high quality content right there. As I've said, Snapchat is all about realness and instant, in-the-moment snaps. Video format is great! Give your followers a chance to get to know you better. Viedo is as close to real life as it gets and I personally has grown closer to a lot of bloggers I follow on Snapchat after watching their daily stories. If you don't feel comfortable in front of the camera, 15 seconds snaps that you can choose to post or not are a great way to start. 4. Add your Snapchat handle on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Another way to promote your Snapchat is leaving your handle on every other social media bio. If you look at my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you'll see that I have my handle in every bio. That's the first thing people see when visiting your pages, and it's only reasonable that you utilize this space to your advantage. 5. Be
What if you could put your whole life on display for everyone to see? In this decade, such things are possible with the help of social media sites. If you want to upload pictures, Instagram is available. If you want to write different statuses, Twitter is a step away. If you want to do both while interacting with people from across the world, Facebook is the right choice.
Last with snapchat you can send something funny but not appropertet to 30 people but you don't have to show your grandma. If i took a video and you say a bad word i can send it to Ethan,Gael,Peter and Aaryn but not grandma,Unlike facebook where you put one thing on their and everyone can see it with snapchat you chose. If you want to tag someone it wont show that video to their friends. There is a thing call your story where you can post one thing and everyone can see it once.
Snapchat also provides real-time content, meaning you can see what your friends are doing right in that moment. This is a contrast other forms of social media because Snapchat allows users to connect on a more minute to minute basis, leading to a seemingly more genuine connection, whereas users of social networking websites like Instagram and Facebook post the highlights of what they are doing on a less regular basis.
Pictures and selfies can help create any façade one wishes to maintain in order to hide who they really are. These pictures, define who we are as human beings; They enhance our social standing and advocate our individuality. Each picture taken has an underlying message that is trying to be heard. However, my significant other disagrees.
Currently, social media plays a significant role in our everyday lives and the way people in society interacts with one another. A few years ago, before its influence reached the point where it is now, the large platforms such as Facebook or Twitter which function was merely to keep family and friends connected no matter where they were or what they were doing, and the requirements were an internet connection and a smart phone or a computer. People would share pictures or posts to keep others “updated” on their lives and what they were thinking. Now social media platforms are far more complicated. In various of them, such as Instagram or Snapchat, it is not enough to only share a picture or video of your day, but it is almost a requirement and people are pushed to take an extra mile further away and make yourself appear interesting in the eyes of others. The “feed” requires to be eye catching, the captions should be memorable, the places one goes to ought to look way better than they actually are, you have to include friends in such posts to prove one have a social life outside of the phone. The importance of the number of followers, likes or viewers
Many people are connected to each other through social networking sites and applications. News feeds and notifications plague the average user’s everyday life. Users log on to view posts about what’s happening in other peoples’ lives. The comparison between someone else’s life and one’s own is a popular trend that has become as addictive as drugs. As one person may fear the withdrawal of their attention from their news feed, others choose to enjoy it. If I allow myself to feel distressed over missing out on social media, then I’d never be able to get through the day. Every minute away from social media is a blessing. The joy of missing out is when a user can feel free from the suffocation of social media. This mindset will massively improve their mental health and relieve them of the stress from social media. A person who fears missing out on social media will crave their news
Additionally, create a list of bulleted answers to the most common interview questions, but try not to sound like you are reading them. Finally, have a copy of your resume in front of you.
People find that using social media is enjoyable, even pleasurable. Students at Harvard looked in to this claim: "Through a series of experiments, the researchers at Harvard University learned through the study that the act of disclosing information about oneself activates the same part of the brain that is associated with the sensation of pleasure, the same pleasure that we get from eating food, getting money or even having sex"(site2). In other words many find it pleasurable to post things about themselves and discover new things about those they know or admire, to a point where using social media each day becomes an addiction. The majority of the social media audience is teens or children from ages 7 to 21. Older people also post status, however not as frequent as the younger generation.
Have you ever been at 2 in the morning checking out your facebook account? Or twittering something at an ungodly hour? The world of social media: where we love to boast of our existences and chew on the fat of others. Hours spent scrolling through our phones; post after post, photo after photo, page after page. Justification comes in the form of the needs of a friend or even ourselves, a few minutes peaceful escape from the craze of the world into the raging fire of social media. But those minutes so easily become hours, hours a habit, and habit an addiction. All of us know
I find social media a perfect way to stay in the loop of what is going on with my friends. Although Eva likes to post pictures of her favorite celebrities, I enjoy using twitter to stay up to date on my favorite sports teams and players. We all can agree that although we do not post selfies or constantly update social media on what we are doing at that very moment, we enjoy benefits social media gives us.

Then I remembered my motive behind wanting to give up social media and shifted my focus onto living more in the moment rather that giving up social media. When I did that social media hasn’t really been a problem for me anymore. Every now and them someone will mention what they saw on Facebook and I will think about checking mine but I don’t. During this process, I always kept notes and personal reactions that I had when I stayed away from social media.
