One of my favorite video games is Fortnite. Because it looks cool and you get to do a lot of stuff. Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the USA. A lot of people play Fortnite because it fun and you get to built things. Playing video games is bad and good.
When I was younger, my favorite game to play was Minecraft. The game was a fun way to express myself and to make decisions like “It’s getting dark, maybe I should start heading home so I can sleep in my bed and avoid the mobs” and that’s most likely why I loved the game so much. I had the opportunity to do whatever I wanted and if I made a mistake the only consequence was to press “respawn” pretty simple right? At the time, yes, but as I matured and became curious, I wondered, could an online game possibly be the definition of life? Can something so many look for yet don’t find be right in the palms of my hands? Could Minecraft, a game that is made for children be the answer to a question asked for centuries?

Tuesday at 10:00a.m., I interviewed with Dr. Ann Griffith about becoming my research mentor and working in her lab. As a potential mentor, Dr. Griffith seems to be prefect in compatibility. She has a great personality and seems to really understand my concerns and schedule. I may bond better with her because she is a woman and she understands a lot of the struggles women endure every day, especially working mothers. She has several publications, one for instance: “Metabolic Damage and Premature Thymus Aging Causes by Stromal Catalase Deficiency”. This paper really gives good insight into understanding the lab’s interest and where I may possible fit into the balance. In the course of our meeting, I was better able to assess Dr. Griffith as my potential mentor based on these aspects and other informative topics from our discussion that would personally affect me the most.

Within any community we must take an active role by volunteering. Volunteering can be anything, from ones time, money, food, or even clothes.

As a young child I had a passion for collectable toys/games such as Pokemon cards, Bakugan, Lego Ninjago. I looked forward to playing with these different games with my friends each day. When I was about 9, I discovered the game “Minecraft,” it became a daily thing to play with my friends for the next 5 or 6 years, it was a huge passion of mine for my preteen
Honesty, loyalty, fairness, respect, justice, beneficence, and not procrastinating were the principles I lived by before I took this course. These principles I set for myself throughout middle and high school. At the age of 16 I attained my Certified Nursing Assistant and Geriatric Nursing Assistant which truly helped me develop beneficence. Respect, honesty and fairness were brought to me in the home I was raised in. Over this course and learning some new interesting things about ethics, I have gained a few more principles. One I should forgive and forget. Normally I eventually forgive but I never forget. Now it is hard, but it makes things so much easier to put it behind you a move on. Second would be change, I have a lot of change going on right in my life and it is all positive. Third is reputation, I always had a good one and cared but I never cared enough. Lastly, would be leadership. I have improved in many ways in my work force that are leading to leadership.
My career choice is culinary management, it has taken me forever to finally pursue my dream and passion. I have gone back and forth contemplating on what I would like to do as a career wondering if I should do something that will bring in a lot of money or if I should stick to what I enjoy doing. I am definitely sticking to what I enjoy, I can’t seem to stop thinking about it I am always thinking about food, looking at recipes or always wanting to eat. I just love to cook and feed people in general, for some strange reason I get so much joy out of it and value the fact it brings people together. My goal is to open up my own place and make a difference in this world in any way that I can in this line of work. I figure why not push forward and enhance something I am already good at.
