Introduction

Skin color discrimination is a very common situation in this world. This phenomenon usually happens in our life, sometimes we will face unfair treatment. Skin color discrimination is defined as "a form of prejudice or discrimination in which human beings are treated differently based on the social meanings attached to skin color" in the freedicionary.com. In other words, it is talking about different skin color which has different treatments and it is not fair. For example, we work in a company and another person has the same work content with you, but his/her salary is higher than yours. After you knew why their salary was higher than yours, you might understand that it is because of skin color discrimination.
The history of skin color discrimination started in the second half of the 17th century." The first reason should be slavery which happened in the British North American. It is one of the main methods of capital accumulation, and it promoted the development of American capitalism. Therefore, each colony enacted laws to determine the identity of the black slaves. However, it means if your are dark-skinned people, you will face smaller incomes, lower marriage, longer prison terms and fewer job prospects. This can make them to feel painful in their life. Besides, there is an old children’s rhyme to capture the definition in a nutshell, "If you are black, stay back; if you are brown, stick around; if you are yellow, you are mellow; if you are white, you are all right" (Nittle, 2015). It is very obvious to recognize the skin color discrimination which is unfair, and this demonstrates the mean whites with a kind of discrimination and their presence has a sense of superiority.
