The warm summer breeze hitting my face and my best friends beside me, what could be better? Crusin’ down the sidewalk with the beach on your side, or possibly even the columbia river cause you're on the waterfront. Skateboarding is the absolute best thing to do and I don't see how anyone could disagree. I love to skateboard because I reach a point in my mind that makes me feel the freest I can feel. I enjoy the simple and peaceful things in life and skateboarding gives me just that. Who wouldn't want to learn something that made them feel that way? If I could teach anyone anything it would definitely be how to skateboard.
The initial step I would take to teach someone how to skate would definitely be just typical pushing and balancing on the board. This seems a lot easier than it it actually is, if I was teaching someone I would definitely give them a lot of credit for even making small progress because this can be the hardest part of learning how to skateboard/longboard. Practice makes perfect and skateboarding is a very good example of that and this person should be aware that it's gonna take more than one try. When they finally begin to learn they would experience a whole new feeling of adrenaline and excitement.

skateboarding has saved me a ton of money not having to pay for transportation. Having a car comes along with insurance, gas and even repairs for someone my age that can be a lot to handle. Not only does skateboarding benefit you on saving money it also is very eco friendly. Cars and especially buses are terribly bad for our environment with all the waste and toxins they put into the
Imagine being on the top of the world, on a bitter cold mountain, over top of an enormous crowd. Below where you stand, the lustrous lights are shining on a massive jump, that seems larger than the mountain itself, created for the professional snowboard competition. This gargantuan jump will decide whether you win or lose the competition. Becoming a professional snowboarder has been a dream to me ever since I first was beginning to snowboard. Being on top of the enormous slope and strapping into my bindings instantly made me relaxed and put a grin larger than the slope itself on my face. Everytime I glide down the face of the mountain I become focused and dialed in on my riding. When becoming a professional snowboarder as an occupation, I would
A few winters ago, some friends invited my family and me to go snow skiing at Paoli Peaks, Indiana. I did not know how to snow ski, and I leaped at the thought of trying this new sport. On the first morning we entered the pro shop to rent all the gear and make decisions about whether or not to take lessons or go it alone. We decided to be adventurous and go it alone—no lessons. Kent and Celeste, the friends who invited us, knew how to ski and snowboard. He assured us that he could show us the basics, and we would be on our way down the slopes. All of us, after a few minutes learning how to wedge our skis started down the family trail. Although the family trail had smaller hills and appeared safe, to me it seemed way
When I go to a gymnastics meet and do really good, so I get that 1st place medal or trophy. It feels amazing, I mean the sport gymnastics is competitive and I sure do love competitive sports. The competitiveness gets you that rush of excitement. You feel nervous, but excited to get in there and try your hardest. Kids make better choices and have committed when they have the drawbacks of participating in competitive youth sports.
If you live close to your workplace or travel frequently to a friend’s house that is only a short distance away, you have the option to take your vehicle, ride a bike, or walk. Wasting gas for a block or two is not always worth it, riding a bike is effort that most people do not want to deal with, and for many people walking is painful. That is why there are now scooters available. They are easy to use, rechargeable, and fun. As long as you have a desire to play and an ability to balance a little, you could be enjoying your time on a single wheel scooter and skateboards.
“Hopefully, kids realize you can do anything you want. Skateboarding can be that gateway.” - Ryan Sheckler. Sheckler meant that skateboarding is more than a sport, skateboarding is way of life and it can take people wherever they want to go. The culture of skateboarding has been taking over the world because anyone can do it no matter what their background, ethnicity, or body shape. This way of life is art form that is expressed through style and maneuvers on a piece of wood with wheels. Skateboarding has become one of the most popular extreme sports in the past few decades. In 2009 there was an estimated 9,281,500 skateboarders in the United States and that number continues to grow each year (“Who Are Skateboarders”). Why then are skateboarders
Rowing, originally used as a form of torture for convicted criminals, is now a recreational enjoyment for all. Despite the conditions, those slaves, now known as athletes, are demanded for pressing manpower at all times. In modern day, rowing is a year-round sport where people voluntarily go to endure hell and seem proud of the accomplishment. Seemingly, it should create more problems than any other sport because of how much time it consumes and how much misery it puts athletes through. However, people disregard that the effect it has in the long run actually outshines the predicaments of the present. Crew’s long dark history has turned it into one of the worlds most beloved and competitive Olympic sports and a cherished part of life for millions
Over the course of time. Street racing has been allowed in the main streets or highways with minimal surveillance or any consequences at all. It almost seemed like no one was taking action in what escalated into a huge problem this year of 2017. Luckily there is various ways to help minimize the negative affects it's having in these communities. A solution to what continues to concern many can be treated as a crime. As humans we know what's right from wrong and people tend to avoid situations that can be considered a crime. The seriousness of the consequences is what everyone fears, no one wants to have a bad record, they want to be “clean.”Another way this rebellious act can continue to decrease is by having strict life changing consequences, example if you get caught street racing then you will be charged with a conviction similar to a Dui.
I don’t remember the exact time when I was first introduced to skateboarding, it was probably around 6th or 7th grade. I remember my “skater” phase well (face palm). Anyway, fast forward a few years and I’m off to college. I was at Auburn University. The campus has lots of hills and slopes, very rough on the shoes. One of my friends, who also rode boards, would let me borrow one of his boards to ride around sometimes, and he would try to teach me how to control the board better. One day, he came to the student center where people often hung out to do work and whatnot with a new board he just bought. He got it from Goodwill, practically new, and since he had a lot of other different boards, he let me have that one. I was pretty psyched, I wanted
There are many phenomenon’s as to why people find golf boring or lethargic. I am going to lay out for you, a few critical points on how to change your perspective on the trials of golf. All moderately sized towns should have a skatepark for three main reasons: it will make the town look like a nice place to live, the kids in the town won’t be getting into trouble for skating around town, and it is a lot safer than skating in the streets. In countless cities around the world, well-built skateparks have also been proven to be valuable community assets with tremendous benefits. Instead of viewing skateboarding as a negative problem that needs to be solved, these forward-thinking communities have found ways to embrace these sports while showcasing their artistic and acrobatic spirit(“The Benefits”).
Confucius once said, "he who does not do well is less guilty than he who pushes too hard." People found that competitive sports are often physically straining and it is detrimental to proper emotional development. This blows away the misconception that competitive sports create a healthy and engaging atmosphere for kids. This and an overly strong obsession with winning create a toxic mix for the child’s wellbeing. People have begun to realize the world of competitive may be doing more harm than good for their children. Parents have also begun to notice that competitive sports often injure their children severely and also make the child feel left out, which in turn is detrimental to the child 's emotional health. Therefore, competitive sports

Skating means the world to me. Without skating, I would not be the person that I am today. I would have just wasted my life away with all the free time. No matter how hard you try, it's hard not to follow the social norm by going to parties for a “once in a lifetime kind of joy” and taking education for granted. I would have fallen into temptation, lowering myself to the rest of the
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, (to) learn is defined as “to gain knowledge, understanding or skill by study or exposure.” However, this is just a definition and does not give the true meaning of the word. It can not describe the true joy of finally learning and understanding something that has proven difficult. I believe that feeling can be facilitated with a teacher who understand those emotions. I have known teachers who truly portray their love for the art of teaching through their awareness of those special emotions and by allowing those emotions to work for them.
Learning initially begins with one's attitude toward themselves, others, and the world we live in. It is our attitudes that play a major role in shaping our experiences, which in turn affects the way in which we learn. We must first be able to interpret the world using information we already know, in order to understand something entirely new. As a teacher, I could only hope that I can provide children with a positive educational experience, one that will broaden the scope in which they view themselves, others, and the world on a larger scale. Children already acquire a desire to learn, however, it is up to us to sti...
