I do not believe we were put here with all our differences to conform to a uniform state of mind. Uniforms are telling you that you can not express who you are. They are trapping you and making you look like everyone else. I think that we should not have uniforms because they are ugly, you can not express yourself, and they are inappropriate. Uniforms in schools are always ugly. Uniforms in all schools have the same boring bland look to them. Kids can not express themselves in what they wear. The all have to wear the same thing. Most of them are always tan or navy blue. They are very bland and all the same. School uniforms all have kalki pants and they are not very pretty to look at. Some girls would rather just wear sweatpants or jeans. When kids all dress the same it is boring. When you …show more content…
Kids like to express themselves and not wear the same thing everyday. People are self conscious about what they wear. Kids do not like to wear short clothes because they think it makes them look fat or something. Athletic kids like to wear shorts and not pants all the time. Most kids do not think uniforms are comfortable and they like sweatpants better. Whether it's leggings, athletic shorts, skirts, sweater, sweatshirts or anything else kids like to express themselves in any way that they can. Kids wear whatever they feel is comfortable. Most kids feel that sweatpants and a sweatshirt is more comfortable than anything else. Other kids like wearing skinny jeans and tight shirts. It is all up to the kids on what they wear. Schools should not be able to tell kids what to wear. If schools had uniforms they would not have dress up days. For example pajama day or little kid day. Those are the kinds of days that make kids enjoy going to school. They have a lot of fun while doing it. Uniforms do not allow kids to express themselves but that can sometimes be a good thing. It is not good to not let kids express
Some high school students usually wear kind of clothes that are not really inappropriate at schools. Some girls dress really sexy with short skirts or crop tops that they can show their bodies. Also, boys sometimes wear shirts with bad words, slogans or pictures that relate to violence or bad things that may affect to other students. Therefore, if all students wear the same uniforms, teachers do not need to waste time on criticizing these students who dress inappropriately any more. Also, uniforms have school logo, so they remind students that they are studying at school and students more likely proud of their schools when they wear them. Furthermore, wearing uniforms makes the classes more formal and more
Introducing school uniforms to the school districts of America has been an ongoing heated debate topic for years. Uniforms contain violence and fights, but they also take away the students’ individuality. Kids have been killed over what they are wearing, but you will still be taking away their right to choose what they want to wear. Both sides have equally balanced points. I believe that school uniforms should be used in local school districts because they are less expensive, they make it easier for teachers to enforce dress codes, and stops kids from judging each other on their appearances.
I think that children and teens should not have to wear school uniforms. It deprives them of their freedom of speech. Uniforms are believed to be degrading and appalling to most. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone looked the same and wore the same stuff. Some kids become stressed out and could get depressed because they cannot choose what they can wear, in our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can’t even choose what we wear? For the most part students would become angry and violent, and worst case scenario, suicide.
Finally, kids should be able to show their personality and what kind of person they are. So this is why kids don’t want to wear school uniforms. Also the kids want the uniforms to go away and not see them any more. So kids don’t like uniforms and they won’t there friends to know what kind of person you are.
Kids use clothes to express the way they feel and making them wear a uniform is taking that away. School uniforms have been around for a long time. Most schools try to enforce the need of uniforms thinking it will help keep their students safer and better educated. Students shouldn’t have to wear uniforms for these three main reasons: some kids use clothes to express themselves and the uniform would take that away from them, uniforms cost a lot of money and some parents can’t afford it for their kids, doesn't really help with education.
My first reason, students would focus more in school instead to worry in fashion. For example, in my childhood, I remember when I used to go to kindergarten, and until I finished middle school. I kept in mind the colors of each uniform, I used for each grade. It was fun and challenging wearing a uniform because each color signified a nick name...
With School Uniforms everyone fits in. Uniforms encourage students to show their personality and individuality in ways other than dress.
Children tend to break off into “cliques” and uniforms could possibly help unite students. Finding creative ways to express their individuality through other outlets other than fashion can help children forge friendships based on their common interests. In conclusion, I feel that school uniforms are something all schools should really consider implementing in their policy. All of these points show that they can be budget-friendly, help children focus and lower the barriers children can build up because of merely what they are wearing.
The most common argument against school uniforms is that they take away the students right to self-expression. Yes, school uniforms limit what the students have to wear, but students can still have their own ways of self-expression. Students can still express their style of choice with their hair and what accessories they wear. Their shoe choice is also a form of self-expression. Students can make the uniforms their own style without breaking the dress code. School is a place to learn. Outside of school, self- expression is limitless. Some parents also believe that it could interfere with students' natural behavior to experiment with different identities. Having uniforms in schools helps erase the defined line of the social classes. Typically, popular kids in the higher social classes wear the trendiest clothing...
“We cannot forget that reinforcing economic differences drives students further apart when schools should be drawing them closer together.” There are many problems in public schools with no uniforms. The use of school uniforms could eliminate some of these problems. Although school uniforms may take away a child’s individuality, there are more benefits than disadvantages to having school uniforms in public schools because school uniforms lessen the money spent on the latest fashion trends and school uniforms provide a positive school climate. A school uniform should be a simple outfit.
Deirdre Davis English 1002_12 5-25-15 Are School Uniforms Really Beneficial? Many people feel uniforms are bad due to not being able to express your individuality when wearing a uniform. People feel when you wear uniforms everyday everyone looks the same. Wearing school uniforms come with several benefits, not only does it help financially by allowing parents to save money but it also allows kids to respect one another, adds a sense of oneness, allows them to feel safe, and builds confidence. Wearing uniforms creates a safer environment for kids and allows them to focus more on school rather then putting their focus on their clothes.
How do you feel? School uniforms are taking over schools. And no kid wants to have to wear something they don’t like, or feel comfortable in. And that's why it is absolutely critical schools do not require school uniform, because it takes away a kids individuality, they don't improve academic performances, and they cost a lot of money.
I don’t think children or teens should have to wear school uniforms. It deprives them of their freedom of speech. They should have the right to wear what they want when they want. The uniforms are degrading and appalling. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone looked the same and wore the same stuff! Whatever happened to our U.S. Constitution? Some kids become stressed out and could get depressed because they cannot choose what they can wear, In Our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can’t even choose what we wear? The effect would be: students becoming angry and violent, and worst case scenario, suicide.
Students don't really feel like themselves in an outfit that was already picked out for them. I personally wear athletic clothes outside of school, so when I have to put on a collared shirt I don't feel like myself. Also, uniforms don't allow any diversity. If God created us in his own image, why would we undo our individuality by wearing the exact same outfit. The uniforms that we wear essentially make us look like something that we're not.
Second, some of the uniform in other school was so ugly or outdate. It is because the school teacher or principal don't know what the students like or what style do the students want to wear. Every students have their own style and their won't have the same idea as the other students. So the school cannot make a uniform to content all the students. And the other things is the students will think wear the school uniform was so dumb and stupid, and they think that the people in outside will laugh at them or make fun on them.
