Students should not have to wear uniforms. There are many reasons that I feel that uniforms aren't necessary for schools. They are very expensive, and you have to wash them constantly just them keep your three or four pairs clean. Here are some other reasons why I feel that uniforms aren't necessary.
First of all, students get to extracurricular activities like baseball practice faster after school. I personally have golf three days a week right after school. Having to change out of a polo, dress shorts, and a belt is a huge hassle! Also, when I have a school related sport, the locker rooms become very crowded and hot. When there are twelve boys playing a sport and are very smelly, it becomes miserable. Even if you just wear the shirt that you need for that sport, it saves a good amount of time, and saves space in the locker room.
Another reason that not wearing a uniform is a good thing is because normal clothes allow students to stay comfortable during the school day. When going to break and recess, especially in Florida, it is extremely hot.

Students don't really feel like themselves in an outfit that was already picked out for them. I personally wear athletic clothes outside of school, so when I have to put on a collared shirt I don't feel like myself. Also, uniforms don't allow any diversity. If God created us in his own image, why would we undo our individuality by wearing the exact same outfit. The uniforms that we wear essentially make us look like something that we're not. Uniforms cost a lot of money too. I had to pay over 100-dollars just for four shirts. That doesn't even allow you to go without washing clothes for the week of
Uniforms are seen in almost every country in the world, but they are not really common in public schools in the United States. Some people think that wearing uniforms is a good idea while others oppose it. In my case, I had to wear uniforms at school when I started 1st grade up till my senior year in Vietnam. I found out that there are a lot of benefits for middle school and high school students when they are required to wear uniform at school in the United States.
One of the reasons schools should have uniforms is because families could save money. An average cost of a uniform in JC penny for one student a year is about three hundred dollars . A normal family spends over five hundred to thousand dollars for clothing for a student. If public schools have uniforms students wouldn’t feel different which would help them feel better and concentrate in their lessons. If families would be able to save money on clothing they could spend it on other school expenses students have. School uniforms could also last more than a year. Even if you grow out of your school uniform you could pass it down to a younger sibling or cousin. Uniforms help the need of not buying so many cloths a year.
Some uniforms are too expensive for parents to afford so they can’t buy them for there kids. The allentown school district has had 2500 requests for vouchers to offset costs, and only about 60 have been approved. This was just one of the school districts with people in need of money to buy school uniforms for their kids because they're to ...
School uniforms charge parents loads of money every year, and there are families out there that are not able to put money towards this. Since school uniforms “are an unfair additional expense for parents who pay taxes for a free public education,” a great deal...
School uniforms are a way for principals to know who belongs on campus and who does not. A while back, researchers studied that the reason certain school require students to wear school uniforms is because they feel that it will help stop other students from bulling one another, just because they don’t have on high priced shoes or clothing it shouldn 't stop them from doing what they do best. "The good thing is people judge you on your inner characteristics rather than what you wear," said Nick Duran, an 8th grader and the student-body president at Rogers Middle School (Portner)." Safety is they key, when students enter the school ground, they should feel safe and not think that someone is going to harm them. Students feel as if they have to wear school uniforms it will
You are less likely to be picked on or “judged” by other people if you are wearing uniforms. Because when those uniforms come on you are looked upon as equal. On the other hand when you wear your own clothes there is always the kid the does not have the “cool” clothes, or their clothes are not good enough, don’t match, doesn't follow the dress code. But suddenly that all goes away with a uniform.
School uniforms make students look more formal, and progressively affects a student’s self-esteem, discipline, and safety, and develops students to be more confident of what they can achieve in life. First, uniforms are easier for schools to enforce than non-uniforms. Uniforms help students have fewer penalizing problems and increased attendance than non-uniform schools. When students are not wearing uniforms, students tend to act the way they are dressed for school.
To begin, school uniforms are economic. When schools have a uniform policy, it makes it easier on the children and parents. It is convenient because a child can just go to their closet and pick out a uniform and be ready for school. It is also very cost effective. Parents can outfit their children twice a year, warm and cold weather uniforms, rather than spending hundreds of dollars trying to keep up with expensive, name-brand clothing. In addition to being economically beneficial, school uniforms also help reduce distractions in the classroom.
...h the cost of a year's worth of school uniforms. The cost of a year's worth (Five tops and five bottoms) of school uniforms or standardized dress code clothing is $150. The savings add up plus students who don’t have to focus on what to wear to school are going to focus more on academics, which leads to improved grades.
uniforms are not necessary, since they are. Because the teachers need to see students as
Read on Additionally, it’s unfair to assume that students can’t make friends with people who are dressed differently than they are. Students are already capable of crossing boundaries without required identical clothing, and schools can encourage this with leadership activities and group discussions. So in conclusion I do not think students should have to wear school uniforms, but I digress we all disagree on something right?
Imagine a world where there was no organization, and it can be related to a public school. Imagine a world with no violence and gangs and class separation, and you can relate it to a parochial or private school. This is quite possibly due to the fact that the private and parochial schools use uniforms. Public schools have recently stepped up to their 'A' game around the country by implementing a new dress code. This dress code involves the required clothing in uniforms, which for a boy may include, a blazer, a polo shirt, a tie, khaki pants and dress shoes; and for a girl, a polo shirt with a plaid skirt, white socks and dress black shoes. This type of attire in school puts students in the mindset for future life, while making them feel as if they are accomplishing a great deal. While uniforms were first used in England as a source to ostracize poor children who could not afford attire, their purpose has changed drastically over the past century to represent the complete opposite then their origination. The use of uniforms have been par...
Point 1 (Brian): Having school uniforms will greatly lift the feeling of teamwork and sense of school spirit and belonging, and is a benefit for students. According to SafeSchools.edublogs.org, school uniform programs make it easier for students to develop a sense of belonging at school because greater attention is given to who they are instead of what they wear. School uniforms will make students feel that they are ...
With uniforms, it may restrict the desire for students to dress themselves to impress or stand out. Wearing something they are comfortable with and what they love may increase their confidence level and not curb their creativity. Sometimes when students had to obey the rules and regulations, they might feel locked up inside as they cannot really express themselves. This case can lead to several discipline cases as a student can act aggressively since they think the need to wear uniforms will cut off their
