Introduction
With all of the research and arguments flying around like birds about music in schools and music raising a student’s IQ, there is a question that needs to be answered. Should music classes be required in all schools worldwide? Students who take music classes at schools that have them are generally more smarter and typically enjoy school more than students at a schools that don’t have music. Almost everyone loves music and because music research has been found and shown to help students in more ways than one, it is definitely something that should be required in schools. Therefore, music should be required at all schools because of all of the positive effects it has on students while having very little negative effects.

Music is disappearing from schools year after year Oakes 5 even though it has shown and been proved to help students when it comes to education. That is why the purpose of this research survey was to find out what scholars thought about music in schools and whether they believe music should be required in schools or not. The Method that was used to complete the survey was Twitter. Twitter is one of the main communities where students are able to interact with each other easily. Also, because of how easy it is to survey students there due to the poll system, that was also a factor that was taken into account when choosing a site to survey scholars on.
The Goal for this survey was to find 100 students and ask them the question of whether or not they believe music should be a required class. Afterwards a huge discussion was to be held about the question to get the opinions out of the students. Lots of good points were made.

So far the study has shown that students enjoy music, It allows for the free expression of what a scholar is feeling on the inside. feelings on the

It has also been stated that Students think music should be required in schools because it is believed other students should experience this feeling as well. Not only does music make school enjoyable but studies have shown that it also increases the IQ of students overtime.
Increasing a scholar’s IQ overtime is something that is magnificent not to mention that while a student’s IQ is increasing so are the skills that are needed for Math and English comprehension. If those skills are applied and enhanced then not only will core classes like Math and English be easier but it would also show an increase in test scores. After the survey was conducted It was found that lots of students enjoyed music classes and believed it should be a requirement. One student from the twitter survey said “Music is the life I live, I wake up everyday ready for the music classes at my high school.” Another said “My stress has really gone down due to me making raps and instrumentals, it is a real stress reliever.” As it is shown music is something
Throughout history music has played an important role in society, whether it was Mozart moving people with his newest opera or the latest album from the Beatles. Where would society be today without music? With schools cutting their music programs, the next Mozart may not get his chance to discover his amazing talent. Music programs are essential to education. To fully understand this one must understand how music helps the human body, why schools have cut music programs, and why people should learn music.

Essentially I believe that in today's society music literacy is a necessary skill for us all to have to successfully encounter and interact with the world around us. Reasons for teaching music as a school subject are consistent with the reasons that we educate ourselves about anything else. Furthermore, we have shown a commitment in the past to creating a musically literate society, and events in today's world only strengthen the need to continue that commitment.
Although musical intelligence is not seen as important or “truly smart” in society, it can still be powerful, and it still is a form of intelligence. Alternative forms of intelligence (those other than “book smarts” like mathematical or linguistic intelligence) are oftentimes overlooked by society. Another aspect of this piece is the view that societal intelligence is important to survival, and can just as easily be used as a reason to consider someone to be smart (Graff). A lot of people tend to overlook how much music education has an impact on the success of a student. Because of this, schools should be required to offer fine arts and music classes as electives for the students. Not only will this improve the students test scores, but it will also give the students a broader imagination and more creativity in and out of the classroom. Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Without music, life would be a mistake”. Music is almost as old as the human race and is as much a part of it as anything. So why would anyone choose to get rid of it? An Increasing number of schools across the nation are deciding to cut music education programs. This includes band, orchestra, choir, and general music classes. Epilogue: If I Could Live My Life over Again, I would… Thinking over my past actions and decisions that I would love to take back and do over. Some examples of wanting to take an action back is when I spilled an important part of a lab in science that was extremely embarrassing and I wish I could take that back and do it differently. We were still able to salvage what was left and complete the lab but at the time I did not know that and I was very embarrassed.
