s one gets older in life, it 's easy to look back on life to see what you did right or wrong. For many, self-reflection can help one look back at the steps . It can also help pinpoint all the actions that led to the mistakes.
During high school, Jason has always did enough just to get by. He thought life was easy enough, that he never had to assert himself into anything productive. Acting like a child instead of growing up and experiencing adulthood like one should. Breezing through high school with passing grades, life seem so easy. His mindset was clouded by false achievements. The type of thinking that is contributed by the people he associate himself. Friends who had no actually goal for themselves, but to have fun. They never thought

Besides just supporting himself, he was still helping out with the family, and even started to support his little brother so that he could enjoy life. One thing about Jason is that even though he didn 't know what he was doing in life, he still took it upon himself to help as much as he can for his love ones. Since seventeen, he had been working everyday except for a few days off here, and there. One thing that I could never take away from him is that is he a very hard working man. He got a job working a small company that seem to provide a bright future. Jason quickly became a value asset to the team. Going the extra mile for the company, and his fellow co-workers, he thought that it would lead to something great. He put in so many overtime hours, and he always got excellent reviews that he thought a promotion was near. To his surprise, he didn 't get what he felt he deserved. Getting passed over by someone that had less experience than him, it made him now see what his worth really …show more content…
The problem he had was because those are the people that are getting rewarded these actions. Sadly to say it, but when people tell you that all it takes is hard work to succeed in life is a lie. Hard work can take you only so far in life, and that is not far at all. Some would say that personality plays a role in how far a person go in life, but why does that seem like the majority of the factor? A world that is populated with billions of people, there are so many different personality out there. Why are we as society faulting people for not "networking"? Jason quickly realizing that hard work isn 't getting him anywhere, and he quickly shut down. He didn 't want to play the game that everyone else is playing. Never the type to take a handout, or try to "network" his way into a better situation while stepping on other people. Never the one to undermine others, always giving credit when it is due, he felt as that is the way was to go about his business. He always had a specific mindset that was different from everyone else, and he didn 't want to stray away from it. As dumb as a person he is, he could always take comfort that he would not be someone he is not. His mother always told him, "let people act the way they act, as long as you are yourself then that 's all you need. We don 't need to make people thing we are good people, as long as we know we are good inside then that 's all that matter. We
Mitchell does this by giving us the first time his problem began, in which his problem is stammering. Hangman is the name Jason gives his stammer, that is because he developed his problem over the game, hangman. Jason, being embarrassed by his stammer, sets out to become a poet as poetry is the only time and place for him to be able to speak his mind without the torture of his stammer. Madame Crommelynck teaches Jason about what beauty really is. How being truthful is beautiful, “True poetry is truth”(Mitchell, 155) and that “Hangman” is his best poem since it is the truth of his speech impediment. She says beauty cannot be created, just that beauty is; beauty is in everything. “the master knows his words is just the vehicle in who beauty sits in”(Mitchell, 147) proving her belief in how beauty is unavailable to description. Jason did not only deal with the concept of beauty but also himself in society, individual identity. Jason feels it is gay to be writing poetry which is his reasoning for using a pseudonym. He is conflicted with having to hide under such because he feels the need to “fit in” with his fellow peers. The expectations of his family also come into play because if “your dad works at Greenland Supermarkets and if you go to a comprehensive school” (Mitchell, 154) then much different would have been expected out of
a mentor to him, helped him and motivated him to get into a college prep program, that changed
Having lost all of his memories, Jason is put in a difficult situation where he cannot look at his past to help him with his decisions. This quote shows his lack of confidence before the start of his quest “Everyone seemed to think he was so brave and confident, but they didn’t see how lost he really felt. How could they trust him when he didn’t even know who he was?” (Riordan 166). He is forced to rely on his instincts, and what his heart tells him is right, so that he can make the best decisions. This quote shows us how he makes decisions “He reached in his pocket and pulled out the gold coin. He let his instincts take over, flipping the coin in the air like he’d done it a thousand times. He caught it in his palm, and suddenly he was holding a sword—a wickedly sharp double-edged weapon.” (Riordan 23). Keep in mind that when doing this, he had no knowledge of him ever doing this before. This was all done on his instincts. Jason might not have memories of who he was, or what he did, but he has learned that if he is going to lead his friends like a Husky leading a sled ☺ (Simile) he is going to have to lead with integrity and use his instincts to help
In Sacred Spaces, Jason spends an hour every single day writing and reflecting. And although for most an hour is excessive, the idea of taking time to think and reflect and put your thoughts into words is not. While Jason may not have the opportunity to consume as much media as the average person, what he does consume he has time to really think about and examine from all angles to learn as much as he can. This self-examination allows for the filtering out the noise in favor of the heart of the issue. Because Jason takes the time to think and reflect, he can make better decisions in the future instead of repeating old
...hood and a supportive family. He was able to finish school even though he tried poising and killing 2 of his professors. His parents supported him and they taught him how to get what he wanted. Family is such an important factor to success because with out moral support, one can only do so much.
He lost his Grandmother Spirt, Eugene his dad’s best friend, and his older sister Mary. All of these deaths were in tragic fashions and came in a close time period. Grandmother Spirt was killed by a drunk driver her last words to her family were forgive the man that did this. Eugene was shot during an argument he had with his friend. Mary burned to death, her house caught fire and she was too drunk to wake up. These loses added up for junior and affected him heavily. I remember reading and saying to myself thank god I haven’t suffered any family loses yet. Let alone three in a close amount of time. If I was in Juniors shoes I don’t think I could have done the things he did with all the tragic losses he encountered.
...ed on him. He however goes back to previous ways for a while until he gets a job and finally realizes that he is grown up. This relates directly to society because we must all grow up and we are unable to do so until we realize it for ourselves.
In the myth Quest of the Golden Fleece, the hero known as Jason shows a lot of the great qualities that he holds, but much like the immortals, Jason also has his flaws. For example, one big flaw that Jason shows throughout this story is that he takes challenges that are thought to be impossible and deadly, and only because he likes the spirit of adventure. As Edith Hamilton writes, “The idea of the great adventure (the quest to obtain the Golden Fleece) was delightful to Jason. He agreed, and let it be known everywhere that this would be a voyage indeed” (164). While Jason takes this quest to achieve his goal of gaining back the kingdom that was rightfully his from his evil cousin, he also trusts that evil cousin, and that brings up another flaw that Jason has, and that flaw is that he
For Jason, one of the main characters of the epic Jason and the Argonauts, his strange new world is the land of Colchis. Upon reaching Colchis and meeting King Aeëtes, Jason responds to this foreign land by staying himself. Staying himself means that Jason attempts to do everything his way that he is familiar with back home in Greece. Jason does this by cutting off King Aeëtes in the middle of his rampage, in order to try to soothe and convince him to give up the golden fleece with diplomatic words of, “subdue beneath your (King Aeëtes) scepter the Sauromatae or some other tribe” (3520-521). This diplomatic attempt backfires as Aeëtes plots to kill Jason from there on out. Unlike Jason, Tarzan adapts to his new strange world of living among the apes. Instead of trying to act like his English parents, Tarzan watches and adapts to the way of the apes. This is evident as, “Tarzan grew he made more rapid strides, so by the time he was ten years old he was an excellent climber, and on the ground could do many wonderful things which were beyond the powers of his little brothers and sisters” (37). By simply adapting Tarzan is able to avoid less strife in his new world of the apes rather then Jason in his world amongst the
...self to find a job and survive on his own, which came to be very hard for him to do. He probably could have stayed at home with his parents and be taken care of for a few more years had he not done so. I think the author put forth these themes clearly and effectively.
In conclusion, John will not grow up to be a healthy and successful because he is lacking a lot of assets that you need to excel in life. Developmental Assets go into every kids daily life. All kids have or do not have these assets. Having these assets can make life a lot easier. Unlike John who doesn't have a lot of assets. If John had all of these assets, the story would've ended better, not with a death of their friend Mr. Angelo
Trent only cared about maintaining his reputation with his perfect confession rate. When Cleary disputes that “Although all suspects are constitutionally entitled to waive that right, the notion that juvenile suspects so frequently decline legal representation during police questioning raises concerns about their lack of understanding of the protection attorneys provide in that context” (279), it shows that it was more than likely Jason was unaware of his surroundings and the consequences. Trent's wife often said "You are what you do” to him. Trent's negative influence on Jason echoes through the book's ending and the probable murderer that Jason becomes is exactly what Trent convinces him that he is. Trent was doing his job of obtain a confession, whether it be false or not, but it was not fully
“The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival” (Aristotle, n.d.) Reflection is a process that begins with looking back on a situation, thinking about it, learning from it and then using the new knowledge to help you in similar situations in the future. We need to evaluate through reflection to determine whether change is needed. We can then decide what action is needed and what we should do the next time we are faced with a similar situation. It might not necessarily be something you have done wrong, it may well be you were happy with the outcome of a situation you had some input into and would do again.
jason's cognitive profile { jason is an isfp, which means his cognitive functions are, in order, fi=se=ni=te. each function and its placement reveals jason's course of judging and perceiving obtainable information, which gives insight to how he operates but more importantly why he operates like he does. below i will state and briefly describe his cognitive functions, thus hopefully enabling a more thorough profile of him.
Personality is the expression of a person’s traits according to ones feelings, mentality and behavior. It involves understanding individuals’ traits such as withdrawal and willpower and how various parts of an individual link together to form personality. Personality expresses itself from within an individual and is comparatively regular throughout in an individual’s life. Different people have different personalities dependent on factors such as environment and genetic composition. Our personality is dependent on the success or failure of our development in the eight stages of life. This is proposed by Erik Erikson. Success in the development stages lead to virtues while the failure leads to malignancies.
