Most people start their Chicago travel adventure at the one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world; the infamous Willis Tower (formerly called the Sears Tower). Standing strong in the middle of downtown, this is the building you see on postcards and in the movies. You can ride to the 103rd floor Skydeck observation box with telescopes to view the entire city as far as the eyes can see. Stand on an enclosed ledge 1353 feet high above the city and it feels like you are standing outside dangling in the air.
The Lakefront
There are many nice stops along the lakefront, but the main one is the North Avenue Street beach where there you can enjoy volleyball games, rent boats, or just swim in the water with hundreds, sometimes thousands
From the parking garage Ferris and his friends go to the top of Sears Tower and look down. It is approximately a half of a mile from the parking garage to Sears Tower. Walking briskly because they are excited about ditching school it can be assumed it took them about 10 minutes to walk that half mile.
Have you ever thought about driving over a suspension bridge held up by cables? That’s what the Mackinac Bridge is. With the building of the Mackinac Bridge there has been many positive effects that have come out of it.
Out of the theatre district there are five different theatres. The Bank of America Theatre, originally titled the Majestic Theatre, first opened in 1906. It was Chicago’s first million-dollar-plus venue and the tallest building in the city at this time. It was doing well and was very successful, but then tragedy hit, and, due to the Great Depression, it was shut down for a total of fifteen years. It wasn’t reopened until 1945, after going through remodeling. In of April 2010, the Broadway Playhouse at the Water Tower ...
With this in mind, Chicago is a wonderful place to visit and live, however it does have it light and dark side. Millions of people visited Chicago for it cultural events, annual festivals, to walk, jog, or ride a bike along the lakefront. Visit the Planetarium, museums, Art Institute or ride up to the 103rd floor of Willis Tower. Take in a movie go shopping down Michigan Ave, or State Street. Nevertheless, be careful of the dangers hidden in some of the neighborhoods in Chicago.

The “White City” was a vast collection of architecture and arts that were put on display in the year 1893. The Chicago World Fair, also called the “White City”, was a major event in American history that impacted America’s culture, economic, and industry. The Chicago World Fair was held to honor Columbus’ discovery of the New World. The real reason why it was made was to proudly have back their wealth and power. Larson said, “the tower not only assured the eternal fame of its designer, Alexandre Gustave Eiffel but also offered graphic proof that France had edged out the United States for dominance in the realm of iron and steel…”(15). To accomplish this, architects led by Daniel Burnham and John Root made numerous buildings and beautiful scenery

Chicago also has multiple arena and stadiums to attend sporting and concert events, including Wrigley Field, US Cellular Field, Soldiers Field, United Center, Rosemont Theatre, and The Chicago Theater. I also visited Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo on the lakefront, and Brookfield Zoo which is located Southwest of the city. If you want to spend time on Lake Michigan, there are many beaches for swimming, and piers for boating. I can honestly say that Chicago has a lot to offer. I never had a boring time. Of the many things I miss about not living in Chicago, one of them is the food. I love Chicago hot dogs, pizza, and Chinese cuisine. Chicago neighborhoods have multiple, family owned restaurants and hot dog stands. You have enormous menu choices from hamburgers, cheese fries, hand dipped ice cream and shakes, hot dogs, gyros, giant fried shrimp, Italian beef, and one of my favorites, the "Confused Chicken Sandwich". Chicago also has multiple family owned pizza "joints", such as Lou Malnati's, Gino's East, Old World, Home Run Inn, and my two favorites, Amato's Pizza and Giordano's. The best Chinese food I've ever tasted is made in

On September 11, 2001 it was a tragic day for many people . It was 8:45 a.m. on a clear Tuesday morning, an American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. It left a burning hole on the 80th floor of the 110 story skyscraper . It killed hundreds of people and it trapped people on the higher floors. After they evacuated the towers they started broadcasting it live on television . They were saying that is was a freak accident. Do the words Wrigley Field, Route 66 or Windy City mean anything to you? These terms all refer to Chicago, where my family and I went this summer. We left at 3:00 A.M. on Thursday morning. We got there at 1:30 P.M. It took ten hours of driving. My dad, mom, sister, brother and I all went along. This trip is super important because of the places I got to visit, the sights I got to see and time spent with my family.
When I was in St.Louis, my family and I went to the top of the Gateway Arch. We had to get in a small cart that took us to the top of the Arch. It took six minutes to get up and four minutes to get down. When you were going up or down, we couldn't see anything because there's no windows on the ride. If you didn't want to ride in the cart you could walk up stairs but it would be a long walk.
