Do the words Wrigley Field, Route 66 or Windy City mean anything to you? These terms all refer to Chicago, where my family and I went this summer. We left at 3:00 A.M. on Thursday morning. We got there at 1:30 P.M. It took ten hours of driving. My dad, mom, sister, brother and I all went along. This trip is super important because of the places I got to visit, the sights I got to see and time spent with my family.
The reason we went to Chicago was because my cousin, Adam Vanbriesen, got married. Adam has an acting job in Chicago. His wife likes to write the plays. We decided that since we were going to Chicago for a wedding, we might as well make a trip out of it! We met my Aunt Deb and her husband and my Aunt Carol and Uncle Darvin at the Hilton in Chicago. After we picked up Darvin and Carol from the airport, we all went out to supper. We ate at an amazing Italian restaurant. After, we went to the Outlet Mall of

Chicago. The mall was huge! It had two floors which does not seem like a lot but the wings on each floor could fit our entire mall, in South Dakota. Downtown Chicago is absolutely crazy. There are people everywhere, which makes things so close together. We had our vehicle so we did not have to ride any trains or walk too far, which we thought to be a good thing because walking or riding the train can be kind of scary. People in Chicago would approach you way different than in small town Iowa. On our way back from downtown Chicago, there was a lot of traffic. Sometimes we would wait ten minutes before we could move only thirty feet. I remember when one traffic light turned red, we waited for about five minutes. In that time we saw 6 homeless men walking through the traffic. One came up to our vehicle and knocked on the window. He had a cardboard sign that said “Need help, please give money”. We wanted to help the man but had been told not to open the windows because you never know what might happen. Adam and his Fiance got all of us free tickets to go to the Shedd Aquarium.
So the next morning we went to the Aquarium. The Shedd is absolutely huge! We spent about 4 hours looking at the 32,000 different species they had! We went to a water show later that day. The trainers did tricks with dolphins and seals. The man with the seal even had the seal come up out of the water. The seal sat only about five feet away from us! The seal would copy what the man did exactly. If the man would wave, the seal would. If the man would walk, the seal would follow. It was so fun seeing that take place right in front of me!
Before we went back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding, we went out to eat. We decided to try pizza. Chicago pizza has a different style than the pizza we eat. In Chicago the crust is a lot thicker, the “toppings’ go on the crust and then the sauce goes on top of the “toppings”. The pizza we ate tasted awesome! After we ate all of that pizza, we had to go back to the hotel and get ready for the wedding at 6:00
P.M. Once everyone was all ready to go, we left for the wedding. The wedding was at a winery. It was very fancy. There were not too many people, just close friends and family. The wedding was short, and the reception followed right after. They gave tours of the winery if you wanted one during the cocktail hour. At about 12 A.M. we said goodbye to Adam and family and headed back to the hotel. The next morning we grabbed some coffee with the whole family. Then, we went swimming for about an hour. Next, we decided to eat at a German restaurant. Reading the menu confused me. Everything was in German. I ordered a salad because I do not really like to try anything new. After, we packed up all of our bags. We said goodbye to Darvin and Carol as they got on a bus to go the airport. We also said goodbye to Deb and Dave. When everyone had left, we got in our car and started on the ten hour drive home. On the way we stopped at a few interesting stores. We also had to stop and eat at the Golden Corral because they do not have one in Sioux Falls! This trip was so exciting, not only because I went to Chicago but because I got to go with family. I got to see the “Windy City” and I got to experience and see different things in a huge city with the people who matter most. It was scary, crazy, awesome and fun all at the same time! If I ever had the chance to go back, I most definitely would. I would surely want my family of course!
Baseball is one of the world's greatest sports and is played almost everywhere in the world. It is also one of the most historic games. The main historic part of baseball deals with the ballparks, the cities, and the teams that have been around for such a long time. Then you have the one and only Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park is the longest standing and is still being used of all the Major League ballparks in the United States. Throughout the 100 years of Fenway Park's existence it has been built, named, burned down, rebuilt, and a whole lot of adding on to the ballpark.

Traveling to an amusement park is a family’s finest way to bond, but is it worth the time and drive to attend just any amusement park? This essay will compare and contrast Six Flags San Antonio, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Disney World Florida from price range, food, and the variety of rides.
Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado has been one of the most memorable places. I have ever had the privilege of being. After seeing the concert I could not believe I just witnessed Metallica and Linkin' Park let alone be in the new stadium of Denver, Colorado. Having been to Washington, D.C. seeing the Vietnam Wall and Lincoln Memorial was quite memorable but the most memorable place I have ever been to was Invesco Field.
When we left the hotel, my parents had a tough time finding the theme park. There were so many overpasses and lanes, my dad missed the exit a few times. Luckily, my dad finally got off at the right exit. When we first arrived, I was so excited. I had never seen so many seen so many people in one place, and the climate was very different compared to El Paso. I remember listening to the roars of the roller coasters and the screams of the people on them. We finally got into the park. As we entered, I remember it being very humid and moist. There were so many different smells coming from the restaurants.
The Chicago Cubs are an interesting part of Illinois history, even if they are not always successful. The history of Wrigley Field, the famous players, and the stories behind every game are why Chicago loves the Cubs. It is the atmosphere of the friendly confines when you walk in through those gates. It is jumping out of your seat when the ball is being hit out of the park. It is things as little as singing the 7th inning stretch with all the other Cub fans around you. Rooting for the underdog is special, and that is why Cub fans are so loyal. The history, players, and stories of Chicago Cubs Baseball are the reasons why it is an important part of Illinois history.
I could not believe I caught a fish all by myself! His proud chuckle made me proud too. I remember posing to take the picture with my dad holding my prized first fish because I did not want to touch it. The fish was humongous or so I thought until I saw the one my brother caught ten minutes later.
The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast deep dish pizza vs. thin crust pizza.
Today is the day, August 2, 2017. I have been waiting all summer to go somewhere special with my sister, Kristen. We were either going to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo or the Shedd Aquarium. We finally arrived at the aquarium which looked huge from the outside. We grabbed a map and headed inside where we started to explore and see all different kinds of marine life. First we saw the types of fish, eels, and anemone that live in different parts of the world in different types of bodies of water. My sister and I were very freaked out about seeing an eel that was at least six or more feet long. After that we started exploring the first floor.

It’s game day in St. Louis, Missouri. The streets are filled with Cardinal fans covered in bright red and navy blue, and here and there are a few of the Pirate fans brave enough to show off their Pittsburgh pride. As my family and I walk down Eighth Street amongst a sea of baseball enthusiasts, tourists, and vendors, I can see the stadium get closer and closer. The burnt reddish brown bricks come into sight, as well as the worn down statues of former St. Louis players.
We eventually made it back to Mia’s house. Just in time to see him knock on her door. We took the pizza, and paid him. We all started laughing. Including the man who just gave us the pizza. We laughed our way up the steps and to Mia’s front porch, unlocked the door and walked inside and set it down on the table. Grabbed cups and plates and began to
We were to marry at the historic Independence courthouse. Mom invited the extended family and a few of her friends and of course Jerry’s mother flew up for the occasion. We were to have a reception at my great-aunt’s house, nothing fancy, just a couple of platters from Honey Baked Ham and then cake.
