Scientific Revolution

Scientific revolution is concepts that are not easily defined by all scholars in different generations. This is because the concept is as dynamic as they come and may mean one thing today in this generation and mean another to another generation. Christopher Sailus stands firm with that point in his by commenting that Scientific Revolution often accompanies recognizable, life-altering events hence quite hard to give an ultimate meaning. In some literatures, scientific revolution according to Galilei (1974) is thought to mean the development and rise of modern science after the middle ages and the rebirth era.

One thing that many historians claim is that it began with Copernicus and ended with Isaac Newton 150 years later. This is the period that saw the innovative development in unique science contexts or subject like mathematics, biology, physics, astronomy, and chemistry. These changes influenced the larger science revolution thereby transforming views of society and nature.

As a result, discoveries and innovations were the order of the day. Most of the theories were spread through print media and institutions such as societies, colleges and universities. Books also promoted advancement of various theories that are in use even today. Journals and newspapers also played a crucial role in spreading of knowledge in this era. Therefore were different Medias to which the science revolution was evident among which influenced the European intellectual development. Since the revolution was not marked by a single change, one can only learn how the ideas contributed to the great European intellectual development.
