Imagine a place where it’s the idyllic getaway from the daily life. A trip to that place is the classic idea of a vacation for families, couples and singles. A place where you can forget about your troubles and simply enjoy life. A place that would feel like you are outside your country, due to its beautiful architecture design. A place that you can call it paradise. My favorite place to visit is Santa Barbara because of its beach, the Spanish architecture and the people. First, one of the most beautiful beaches on the west coast is found in Santa Barbara. The beach is most visited during the summer. This style goes back to the early Spanish colonization of North and South Americas. The houses and the building are unique, well-constructed with lots of character and charm. The houses have terracotta roof tiles, which is the red clay rooftops that give the homes its warm, earthy and rustic look. The walls are white painted with stucco exterior that gives the aged-looking old world surface. Because of the mild climate, Courtyards and patios are built to encouraged outdoor living. The patios often had fireplaces which allowed you to linger outside late into the night. Plus, arcades which are a series of arches supported by columns. Although it is an old architectural feature, the arcades sheltered walkways in town squares. Inside the arcade is an expensive terracotta tiled patio that covers the impressive woodwork above and the outdoor fireplace. In addition to curves and arches, the curved steps lead to a graceful archway to the front door that is crafted with wrought iron, and the same for the windows that are sealed by wrought iron grates rather than glass panes. The people are carefree, healthy and full of enthusiasm. There is this undercurrent of positive energy that permeates every inch of the city. The people are extrovert and always ready to have fun. Because the people always care about their health and nutrition, most of the restaurant in Santa Barbara provide a rich and a verity of healthy food. Plus, the people have the utmost respect for nature and are extremely cognized of the effect urban development has on the land, water and air; as a result, Santa Barbara is not just another sprawling, shapeless or soulless mass-planned development. The people in Santa Barbara were able to maintain its unique look through a strict building and architecture design code.
