Salem Witch Trials only lasted less than a year. The first arrests happened on March 1, 1692 and the final hanging happened on September 22, 1692 ("Salem Witch Museum"). Most of the bodies that were hanged are buried at Gallows Hill ("Salem Witch Museum"). A memorial was built in
Salem in 1992 to honor the victims of the Salem Witch Trials ("Salem Witch Museum").
B. The first three girls to have odd behavior were Elizabeth Parris, daughter of Reverend
Parris, Abigail Williams, niece of Reverend Parris, and Ann Putnam, daughter of Thomas Putnam
(Marvel, Laura). At first, Reverend Parris tried praying to help the girl's odd behavior but it didn't work ("The Afflicted Girls"). Elizabeth was nine, Abigail was 11, and Ann was 12 (Marvel,
Laura).
