“The worst feeling in the world is when you know that you both love each other, but still you just can't be together.” While the author of this quote is unknown, it is almost definite that William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was in mind when the author created it. Romeo and Juliet is a play re-written in the Elizabethan Age about star crossed lovers forbidden to be together because of their feuding families. While it was written so long ago, Romeo and Juliet is still one of the most popular stories today. William Shakespeare was also one of the top writers of his time as well as today. Although he was born so long ago, William Shakespeare is still famous today, he transformed a poem into a beautifully written play by changing elements and adding characters, and this play managed to stay alive for over four hundred years in various forms.
