Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, where a boy and a girl fall in love with each other during a party hosted by Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet. The two teenager decide to get marry, despite their family's hate for each other and only meeting each other a few hours ago. However, the Montagues (Romeo’s Parents) and the Capulets end their feud after they discover that their children killed themselves. Romeo and Juliet’s death was caused by Juliet’s parents, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence.
Juliet’s parents were the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s death because they forced marriage onto Juliet and threatened her when she refused to marry Paris. Document B, “ Think of marriage now”, is the scene where Juliet’s mother, Lady Capulet,

talks to Juliet about getting married to Paris. In this document lady Capulet says “ think of marriage now; younger than you… ladies… are made already mothers.” Lady Capulet also uses herself as an example to convince Juliet to marry at an early age. It demonstrates how Juliet's parents pressure her into marrying Paris and later on Juliet feels the same pressure, which causes her to fake her own death and later on kill herself. Also, Juliet does tell her parent that she does not want to to marry Paris in Document D, “Disobedient wretch”, after Juliet’s last night with Romeo before he has to leave because he was exiled. Lord Capulet does not react well to the news that Juliet refuses to marry Paris because he already promised Juliet to Paris. Lord Capulet threatens “I will drag thee on hurdle thither.” this demonstrates how far Lord Capulet would go to get Juliet to marry Paris. Juliet makes rash decisions because she does not see a way out due to the way Lord Capulet reacts to her refusing to marry Paris. Juliet's parents force marriage on to Juliet and do not hear her out when she says she doesn't want to marry him , this makes her think she has no choice but to kill herself when she can not be with Romeo.
However, Juliet is also to blame for Romeo’s death and her own death because she gives her parents the impression that she would do anything they say and had no say in decisions, Juliet also does not give a reason to why she does not want to marry Paris.

In Document B, “Think of marriage now”, Juliet tells her mother “ … no more deep will I endart mine eye / Than your consent gives strength to make it fly.” Juliet is telling Lady Capulet that she will only marry the person that her parents approve of. Juliet acts as if she will do what her parents say,which is why they do not take her seriously when Juliet says she does not want to marry Paris and force her to marry him, which drives Juliet to kill herself. Furthermore, Juliet also does not give her parents a reason to why she suddenly changed her mind about marrying paris. Juliet told her parent “ Delay this marriage for a month, a week…” When Juliet says to delay the marriage she does not tell her parents why she wanted to wait, because she did not give a valid reason her parents though she was just being difficult and thought Juliet would get over it and marry Paris. This resulted in Juliet faking her own death, which lead to Romeo and Juliet to take their own lives. Juliet is to blame because she acted as if she had no voice in the decisions that were made for her , causes her parent to overlook her opinion, Juliet also does not communicate why she does not want to marry Paris, which would have resulted in her parents to at least hear her

out.
Friar Lawrence is also the cause of Romeo and Juliet's’ death because he is supposed to be wise and does not give good advice to Juliet when she asked for his help, he also does not tell Friar John the importance of the letter that would tell Romeo that Juliet is faking her death. Friar Lawrence agrees to to marry Romeo and Juliet in Document C, “I’ll thy assistant be”, Friar Lawrence tells Romeo “ These violent delights have violent ends” before he married Romeo and Juliet. Friar lawrence did not try to stop Romeo and Juliet from getting married even when he know that it would end with something going wrong or someone getting hurt. Friar Lawrence should have been wise enough to stop them from making the mistake that results them in committing suicide . In addition , Friar Lawrence also was not careful enough with the letter that was supposed to tell Romeo that Juliet is not actually dead. In Document E,” A Greater Power” Friar Lawrence tells Friar John “ The letter was not nice but full of charge of dear import, and the neglecting it may do much danger.” The Friar Laurence does not tell Friar John the importance of the letter until it was too late. Because, He did not tell Friar John that the letter will cause a lot of people to get hurt if Friar john was not able to get it to Romeo, Romeo thought Juliet was actually dead and killed himself, which caused Juliet to kill herself when she woke up. Overall, if Friar Lawrence had given Romeo and Juliet good advice and made it clear how important the letter that he was supposed to deliver was then the play would not have ended in a tragedy.
Because of Juliet’s parents, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence, Romeo and Juliet killed themselves for each other. Juliet’s parents were responsible for Romeo and Juliet ’s death because they pursue Juliet into marriage and don’t let her back out of the marriage. Juliet was responsible for her own as well as Romeo's death because she did not give a reason to why she did not want to marry Paris and she gave her parents the impression that she will do anything they say. Friar Lawrence is also to blame because he did not give Romeo and Juliet good advice and he did not clarify how important the letter was to get to Romeo. Overall, Romeo and Juliet ’s death was tragic caused by Juliet’s parents , Juliet and Friar Lawrence.
