The specialty of Beta Bridge is the paint done by the UVA students every day for announcements, event advertisements or whatever they want. I would like to paint the message “Join the DANCE”. This message is to invite friends to join the Indian Student Association (ISA) dance competition event. The message is very special to me. Dance is my passion and the pride. I love dance and love participating in dance competitions. In high school, I was the choreographer for dance events and took the leadership to organize events. It helped me to overcome my hardship that when I was left out of the crowd being the youngest in the class. Dance gave me the opportunity to meet others and make
friends.
The Jericho Covered Bridge in Kingsville, Maryland was built in 1865 and restored in 1982. The bridge is 100 feet long and cased in cedar planks and timber beams. Legend has it that after the Civil War many lynchings occurred on the bridge. Passersby were supposedly captured on the bridge and hung from the upper rafters. The bridge is very close to my house and I have driven over it several times. The storyteller, age 19, also lives a couple minutes away from the bridge. He has lived in Kingsville, Maryland his entire life. He recalled a dramatic story he had heard from his older brother involving the haunted bridge.
The Bailey Island Bridge is located in Harpswell, Maine on Route 24. Before the making of the bridge, the fishermen that lived on Bailey’s Island wanted a bridge that connected their island to Orr’s Island. The town of Harpsweell made and voted on their decisions in the weekly town meetings (“Bailey”). The project was stalled because of some of the mainlanders in the town, but it was brought back up for discussion in 1912. They first agreed on a “road” which would connect the two islands and would be constructed with timber. This was to cost $3,000. The cost quickly reached $25,000 at a later town meting because they decided to build the bridge with stone and concrete instead. Once the legislature decided to pass a bill stating that it would fun state’s highway and bridge projects, they decided to move forward with the project (Hansen, 36).
The fall of Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, fell to North Vietnamese force on 30 April 201. This event marked the end of the Vietnam War. On this day Vietnam encounters the largest exodus of immigrants as Vietnam governed by the communist regime. Lan Cao in her novel Monkey Bridge reflects the struggle of the Vietnamese Americans immigrants in America. Lan Cao was born in Vietnam in 1961 and moved to live in America when she was thirteen years old as a result of the Vietnam War. Her novel Monkey Bridge published in 1997, it is a semi-autobiographical story of a mother and her daughter who leave Vietnam and settled in the United States. It considers to be the first novel by a Vietnamese American about the war experience. Monkey Bridge has two narrators. Mai one and a half generation Vietnamese American teenager, who run off to America when Saigon falls in 1975, and her mother, Thanh, who manages to join her daughter a few months later. Mai aims to help her mother to overcome her past. On the other hand, Thanh fells that by keeping her daughter away from the truth of their shameful history, she can protect her from having the same pain and sorrow that she once had. Thanh’s inability to achieve reconciliation with her past and her inability to assimilate in the new world leads her to commit suicide, leaving a message for her daughter to tell her the truth about her past.
People who thinks of Thornton Wilder primarily in terms of his classic novella “Our Town,” The Bridge of San Luis Rey will seem like quite a switch. For one thing, he has switched countries; instead of middle America, he deals here with Peru. He has switched eras, moving from the twentieth century back to the eighteenth. He has also dealt with a much broader society than he did in “Our Town,” representing the lower classes and the aristocracy with equal ease. But despite these differences, his theme is much the same; life is short, our expectations can be snuffed out with the snap of a finger, and in the end all that remains of us is those we have loved.

The novel, Bridge to Terabithia, written by Katherine Paterson (1977) is an intriguing story about friendship. Paterson's novel is about two children who together use each other’s strength to overcome each of their own weaknesses. Paterson's uses a range of techniques to engage her audience, this including the setting, language, characters and themes. Bridge to Terabithia is an outstanding novel, most suited for children aged from nine till twelve. This is because it deals with situations which children that age may encounter.

In the Native American, religious community there is skepticism regarding the Land Bridge Theory , which hypothesizes that the native populace migrated into America via a land bridge in the Beringia region. Some of the skepticism, and rejection of the Land Bridge Theory, is a result of a strong claim that science has created a largely fictional scenario for Native Americans in prehistoric America. The Native Americans who reject the Land Bridge Theory have an alternative view of history as seen through the myths of their people. There are several Native American religious traditions whose myths of creation hold that they were born out of the earth in their traditional homeland.
A View from the Bridge. 'Justice is very important here' is spoken by Alfieri in his opening speech. Alfieri is a lawyer representing the official legal system of America. He also acts as a narrator, commentator who is almost like a bystander watching the events but remains powerless to have any impact on them. There are many types of bridges. Some bridges has many strength and weaknesses. For example, a beam bridge’s weakness would be that you have to use a lot of stone starting up from the ground. Another example would be how a suspension bridge’s strength would be it flexibility, like the Golden Gate Bridge. The engineering process for a bridge would be to first make sure everything will be symmetrical. Secondly, from that symmetrical blueprint, the construction of the bridge is now good to go. Lastly, you would have to make sure that all the bridge’s shape/structure/triangles should be correctly aligned. “Correctly aligned” meaning that each supporting part in the bridge should be taking enough distributed

There are nine types of main bridges. Bridge engineers use a lot of geometry to help them design the different bridges. Without geometry, the bridges would not be safe.
I became a student at Carmel two years ago as a freshman. Throughout those years I have changed and gone through many experiences. As my symbol, I drew a flower. At first, the flower started out as a seed. This represents my freshman year when I was just starting at Carmel and just beginning to make friends and find my way. As a sophomore, I started to branch out more and I was more comfortable at Carmel. I knew more people and was used to the routine of high school.
