Begin typing your essay below: I signed up to be volunteer for community service hours for my honors class. I choose this particular one because I thought it would be easy, but after few weeks, I felt honored for having been a part of it. I’ve never volunteered before, except for feeding the homeless with my church a few time. But this was a totally different experience. I chose to work with the Salvation Army and had no idea what I was in for. In my experiences with the Salvation Army I felt I succeed, and made a difference. This was a very exciting project for me. We thought of the many ways we could make a difference. First, we had planned on putting on a small carnival for the children at the shelter. We had a pictured a bunch of kids running around playing games and winning prizes. Sadly, we didn’t have the time, money, or resources to make something that big happen. I feel we succeed in trying to make a difference with the Salvation Army. We faced several tasks in this project. The first problem we had, was that half of my team left the class, leaving Issiah, Jasmine and myself to take on the project. Time became a major problem because we all worked part-time, so we had to cut some things from our original plan. We also didn’t have the money or the connections to fund our bake sale after the other students left.
