Driving down the 405 Freeway into downtown Los Angeles, my eyes are ardently focused on the sky above me. "Look! There's one!" I exclaim, to no one in particular. The stretch of freeway that borders Los Angeles International Airport is my favorite piece of road in the entire state of California because the airplanes coming in to land at LAX fly right over the cars stuck in LA traffic, and thus, right over my head. Every imaginable type of commercial aircraft, from huge Boeing 777's to comparatively smaller Airbus A320's, fly into the airport. I love seeing the huge airplanes whiz right over my head, just a couple hundred feet above my widened eyes. Due to my opportune vantage point directly below the airplanes, I can see their full wingspan
Collision avoidance is something that has been a problem in aviation for a long time. Most of the flights conducted today rely on the see and avoid concept and ground radar. Both of which have their flaws. The FAA predicts that mid-air collisions will increase by 300% over the next 20 years due to the increase in flights being flown by all areas of the aviation community (Kraus xiv). Civil aircraft have had onboard protection from midair collisions only since 1990 and general aviation aircraft are not required to have any collision avoidance technology onboard(www.cassd.org 1).

The noise of Aircrafts was historically a major environmental issue for the airline. It is still high on the agenda of public concern. Noise disturbance has a variety of difficult issues to assess because it is open for self- reactions. Its impact is not one permanently on the actual environment, but it can have many effects on the people living in the area of the airport, including: interference in c...

I could see a plane flying overhead. At least it looked like a plane. It was red, and it almost looked like the bus that was only a few meters in front of me, but the plane was miles above the ground.
The main purpose of the article, Airspace Blunders, is to identify the leading causes for airspace incursions, more commonly known as near-midair collisions, and to provide alternative courses of action to prevent them.

Airports are vast facilities covering many acres of land where passenger beginning the flight portions of their travels. The first flight by the Wright brothers in Kitty Hawk, NC in 1903 only required a runway. As the technology of flight advanced to offer passenger service, there was soon a need for a building to manage passenger needs. Airports of today provide many key services needed for the traveler whether they are beginning, transferring, or ending their journeys. The demand for air transportation rises each year, according to the Department of Transportation (United States Department of Transportation, 2013) 815.3 passengers traveled by airplanes in 2012. With the demand expected to rise, airports must be able to keep pace with services. There are many different services provided however, this report will discuss terminal design, baggage handling, and ground access.

"Favorite food!" Sam pounces the question at me from behind, as we balance along a beam on the North Light park.
“Flight 208 to Los Angeles is now boarding. Section N you may now take your seats”. You looked down at your carry-on bag to make sure you have everything packed up, even though you took nothing out, and headed toward the flight attendant and handed her your ticket. As your walking through the tunnel, the sound of the planes jets put just enough pressure on your body, causing your pulse to increase. “Why are you nervous, you been on planes before”, you ask yourself. You shake your head and start to inhale and before you could finish getting your lungs to the maximum capacity they could hold, a man wearing a white shirt twice his size and jeans that also seemed
We got a phone call from grandma, saying that grandpa is in the hospital with ammonia. We could not believe what we heard. We all felt like that would be the end for him, he was really week before he got ammonia, because of what happened to him, when he was young. We stayed in Everett 2 days to schedule appointments, and visit him. Because of my grandpa going to the hospital with ammonia, I learned to love and cherish, the people who love and care for me. I couldn’t imagine how my grandma felt; she did not want to lose him.
Heart racing, palms sweating, head pounding, tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. All the while I’m thinking to myself 4 more years just 4 more. It was around the end of the summer break August the 7th to be exact. My eyes were filled with determination as I sat alone side a bunch more like me (eager to be noticed hormonal filled teens). Our bodies filled with such anticipation, that of which we are blind to the knowing of what is to become of us throughout our time in this hellhole we call high school. As like many other freshman girls of my generation, education was the last thing on my mind. The bell rang at the struck of 7:00 am. The whole time I was just pasting down the hall thinking to myself ‘don’t touch me! ’yawl to loud
