In anticipation and preparation for working 450 hours in my practicum, there will be a multitude of factors that will both increase and decrease my motivation, capacity, and opportunity to learn. The practicum is set up to where I will be able to do a self-check and reflection on the previous week worked, after my face to face discussion with my field instructor I will then take any feedback and constructive criticism that was given and apply it moving forward. This information will allow me to take away small pieces to learn and grow from, seek new opportunities to learn whatever I am missing, and continue to motivate myself to strive for more knowledge. I will try to maintain a balance of work/school and personal obligations. I have also set a weekly schedule to include downtime, extra rest time, school time, and personal time with my daughter to ensure all obligations is prioritized and fulfilled daily. I will ensure that I get a healthy amount of sleep, eat well, and take vitamins in order to avoid feeling exhausted or spaced out, as I have recognized I do not think clearly or learn new important information under these circumstances. Sleep will be the hardest factor along with stress, as I will only have seven hours of allotted sleep per night.
