For the most part, I believe that my learning profile and my scores on the questionnaires did reflect on my studying strategies and techniques. As described in lecture, there are two types of goal-orientation theories, mastery and performance orientation, and through examining my learning profile and the scores and results of the questionnaires, I believe that it is evident that my studying techniques and strategies reflect more of the mastery approach goal-orientation theory. This also has an impact on my mastery approach score; I tend to go after the tasks that I desire to accomplish, while striving for mastering and understanding the tasks. I tend to sometimes take an easier path, which reflected in my performance as I was studying, as I sometimes slack off, as well as not pushing myself to my maximum potential, and as mentioned before, I did not focus on the details of certain concepts in the chapters, but instead, just focused on the main ideas and concepts that were brought up in the chapters. As for my critical thinking score, I am not too sure why I received the score that I got, as I thought that I did not think too critically as I was studying. Upon reflecting my studying strategies and performance, I felt as if I simply just skimmed through most of the content, and I was able to grasp and understand only the major concepts, without focusing on the smaller, finer details of the concepts. However, while studying, I found that I was able to connect some of the content in the chapters with similar, and even some of the same content that I learned in other undergraduate psychology courses, such as PSYC 100 and PSYC 102. With having prior knowledge in certain topics, I was able to develop a deeper understanding of the topic and all of its underlying concepts, as well as being able to understand newer concepts in relation to the topic easier. Tests play a major role in a student’s academic career: they determine where the student goes to college, which AP classes the student will be able to take, and so on. Considering this information, it is vital to discover effective study methods that will enable students to retain the material longer and clearer. For the two learning outcomes that I benefited the most from are critical thinking and oral communication. First, critical thinking presented a unique challenge
The top three highest learning style results were: social (at ten points) and physical and solitary (tied at nine points each). I was surprised at the social learning style result the most. I personally believed that, depending on the subject matter, I tended to focus more on the tasks at hand if I study on my own. However, upon further introspection, I have concluded that I do much better most of the time if I have at least one study partner. I am less likely to take unnecessary breaks, get distracted by my cell phone, or zone out. However, there is a limit to my social learning capabilities: if I have more than 2 partners in my study group, I am inclined to become more distracted and less focused. A group setting also helps me in regards to the physical aspect of my learning style. While visual aids do help me, I am very much a hands on learner. Especially in regards to topics like science, being able to use my hands and sense of touch greatly increases my understanding and retention of the subject matter. This also means that I feel restricted in a traditional lecture style class. I had noticed this about myself, and over the years have employed several tricks to help keep my focus. One of the most successful one I have experienced is also one that is suggested in the assessment results: extensive note taking. I hadn’t thought to employ tricks in my study habits to help with the trapped feeling, and the suggestions provided were very helpful. I have now started to use flash cards, brainstorming diagrams and even educational toys to help with my more difficult classes – like anatomy and physiology. Being able to handle the materials is extremely beneficial, and utilizing different mediums and techniques prevents me from being bored and losing
I found the results of my self-assessments to be a very insightful and accurate description of myself. The results of the learning styles test and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II are very valuable for examining my personality traits and learning style and making improvements as needed.
My ability to challenge myself I try to expand my knowledge and try to understand the concept of what I am learning. The author’s interpretation I agree on because the score I received was eight and I do read items/directions before I proceed with things.

Taking the Orientation to Psychology class my first semester at Seton Hall University was probably the most beneficial part of my college experience thus far. Although I came into college confidently declared as a psychology major, I didn’t really know what this meant or entailed prior to taking this course. This course taught me valuable information about myself, about the field of psychology, and about how I can mold those two together. All that I’ve learned this semester in Orientation to Psychology helped me to form a coherent and positive understanding of who I am and how this identity fits into the world of psychology.
It helps create a connection between ideas and help identify or even evaluate arguments. Critical thinking is important in psychology because it requires to ask thought provoking questions, examine the evidence and define the problem. These three criterias are very important part of the critical thinking and it also reflects on the way we think or understand. The brain works in many direction to understand the potential of each way of thinking and improve the thought process and its outcomes. Critical thinking can help me make better decisions and choices and help me with general self awareness. Especially, If I want to be a child’s psychologist then I can teach them to think about the consequences, extending their thoughts to what possibly could 've happened. Without a doubt the lessons and exercises on time management were the most meaningful to me. They brought insight into why I seemed to be constantly working yet still never really got anything I wanted to accomplish throughout the day finished. I realized the majority of the activities I had been spending the most time on didn’t reflect my values of hard work and self discipline and long term academic goals to be successful in college. This motivated to completely change the way I managed my time by effectively striking a balance between my maintenance, committed, and free time.
In this course I experienced an important change in my beliefs about teaching; I came to understand that there are many different theories and methods that can be tailored to suit the teacher and the needs of the student. The readings, especially those from Lyons, G., Ford, M., & Arthur-Kelly, M. (2011), Groundwater-Smith, S., Ewing, R., & Le Cornu, R. (2007), and Whitton, D., Barker, K., Nosworthy, M., Sinclair, C., Nanlohy, P. (2010), have helped me to understand this in particular. In composing my essay about teaching methods and other themes, my learning was solidified, my knowledge deepened by my research and my writing skills honed.

One of the main courses of this semester was to learn various organizational behaviors that are conducted in real business environment. By learning this course, we could understand our future colleagues and ourselves better. Throughout the semester, every week Ashley Hughes gave us an interesting lecture about different topics of oranisational behaviors. Along with the weekly lectures we also had a group presentation that gave us the opportunity to apply the lessons and techniques learnt in our professional and personal lives.During the course of this semester, Organizational Behavior has highlighted numerous topics, which concentrated on investigating the impact that individuals, groups and structures have on behavior within an organization and how their behaviour affect the performance of the organizations for the purpose of applying such technique towards improving an individual’s or an organization's working effectiveness (Jontymagicman, 2012). In this reflection paper, I will discuss the essential areas of organizational behavior: the influence of motivation, managing change and individual learning at an organization.
Each of the three learning theories, Cognitivism, Constructivism, and Behaviorism, has worth and merit in my opinion. Yet, each one has its own unique qualities with one common factor, the learning process. It seems to me that the best teacher is one who would utilize all the theories of learning. However, if I look closely, I am most likely favoring one or two more than the others in my own instructional methods. Students will identify the correct how to find the area of circles. We are going to do this first by deriving the formula for the area of a circle ourselves. Students use these operations to solve problems. Students extend their previous understandings of finding the area of a shape: This learning goal meets the Common Core Standard CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.G.A.3. The students are going to learn find the area of only the doughnut, excluding the hole in the middle. For the formative assessments during the teaching of this unit, I will keep an observation log, where I note any student progress, whether it be positive or negative. I believe it will be important to record observations any time a student has difficulty with a particular task. For example, if a student has trouble solving the problems with the formulas. to purchase an item, I should write down particular actions, attitudes, and behaviors that stand out, as well as the specific issue. Any time the students are doing independent work, I will monitor the learning activities and record observations.
