A year and three months ago, I was at football practice. I was on the defensive line. I tripped up the running back, but the running back landed on my left ankle. The result was a fracture on my left tibia. I played on my injury for two weeks. At that moment, I was not able to play football for the rest of the year. During this summer, I injured my back. I began to accumulate information about how to treat my injuries. While I was researching, the words physical therapy popped up. I clicked on them, and the article discussed what a physical therapist does. When I was halfway down the article, it stated that a physical therapist helps people with injuries like mine. After researching, I decided to be a physical therapist.

“With her sweet voice, magical hands, technical precision and absolute determination, Renee put me back together, and I’m golfing again,” states Elyse Wolf, a patient of a physical therapist (Our Equipment). With the help of Wolf’s physical therapist, she was able to golf again. Physical therapists help people recover from injuries and disability health crises. I’ve always want to be something in the medical field since I was younger, but physical therapy never came across my mind until I was told by a friends mom that it was something she could see me being very good at. Ever since then I’ve been interested in it. Physical therapist think of and follow through with treatment plans for people who are injured or have an illness to help them move better, increase their strength, and/or relieve pain. I think I would be a good fit for this job because I enjoy working with people and I am very patient with people.
I have narrowed it down to descriptive or existential beliefs, along with several values such as; accountability, altruism, compassion, and empathy that guide me the most. I like to be shown proof of how or why something works, whether it’s on the monitor hooked to the patient as the therapy is being introduced or just and article showing me evidence based practice. I feel anything else is just a matter of opinion and not scientific proof, and in critical care, opinions can cost lives. I have many values that guide me, but accountability is number one on my list because I feel it is most important that your patient and co-workers can count on you and trust you to be responsible for your own actions. That is part of the trust mechanism, and is very important in nursing. Altruism is also important, it refers to trust as well, if you are not truthful with your patient, they will not trust you. Compassion and empathy are very important and can be grouped together. You must remain human when caring for your patients. I feel that if I ever get to a point in my career that I lose my ability to show compassion for my patient and express empathy, then it is time to choose a new career. An important part of the nursing profession is having a heart and truly caring. To do this, you must also not be afraid to be an advocate for your patient as well, and ask questions if you don’t agree with the treatments that are ordered. Above
According to Benedict the XVI, “The world offers you comfort. You were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness.” This is a very appropriate motto to illustrate what I plan to do through my future career. I will go above and beyond as a physical therapist to encourage patients to surpass their comfort zones to reach their ultimate potential. With a focus on prevention, I plan to empower patients through education to maximize movement and thus optimize their quality and enjoyment of daily life.
The care we deliver helps the individual person and improves the health of the whole community. Compassion is how care is given through relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity. Competence is the ability to understand an individual’s health and social needs and the expertise, clinical and technical knowledge to deliver effective care and treatments based on research and evidence. Communication is the key to a good workplace with benefits the people they are caring for and for the co workers. Commitment is vital to show we mean the best for those we are caring for, it helps gain trust (“The 6Cs.”). I apply to a lot of the “6Cs.” I have great communication skills, I am caring, compassionate, courageous, and am very committed once I start

The career field that my interview is based around is in the medical field, more specifically, the field that specializes in the medical care of infants, children, and teenagers. These types of doctors are called pediatricians, and their patients can range from a newborn baby to a twenty-one year old adult. There are many reasons to become a pediatrician. Some people have family in the medical field, which makes them feel compelled to enter into medical care, others have had a life changing experience which involved them looking to pediatricians to save them. The reason for me to choose this career field is that I love helping people, and to know that if I were to become a pediatrician that I could affect someone else’s life in an important

From biology, I learned the basic workings of the human body. From language arts, I learned how to research what I don’t know and how to study and understand differing views and apply those as I work. These will greatly help me in my internship. I have a foundation to launch from when learning new things about sleep and medicine so I won’t be completely lost starting off and I will know how to study and learn so that I can retain information I gain and find out more on my own. Another CARP strength I have is how inquisitive I can be.
Indeed, I admit that my experience in my clinical internship is much different in my industrial setting. I experienced the world of unemployed and employed people. I experienced to look for a job, pass resume, being interviewed and waiting for a call from a company. I admit that it’s really hard and tiring to look for a job. After all the struggles, I received a call from the company where I want to get in and spend my internship.
