Pursuing My Scholarship

Everyone, for their own individual reasons, believes they are deserving of merit scholarships. Myself, just like the majority of people, believe I am well deserving of this scholarship. My goal for this paper is to outline, for your benefit, why I believe I am the best candidate to receive this scholarship. I am going to talk about my academic achievements, my achievements outside of the classroom, and my involvement in my community.
I am going to first start out by talking about why I am worthy of the scholarship based on my academic achievements. All throughout high school I maintained a high GPA while being involved in various other clubs and activities. During my Junior and Senior year, I was also enrolled in AP and concurrent enrollment classes. I have always been committed to my academics and that didn’t change when I went to college. I was the president of the Red Wing High School’s Interact Club and a founding member of Red Wing High School’s Circle of Friends. Along with these two leadership roles I was also a member of Knitting Club and National Honors Society. Outside of the school community I was a member of the Red Wing High School Varsity Hockey team and the Soccer team. I was the team captain of the Red Wing High School Varsity Track team. Being involved in activities outside of academics really enhanced my education. All of these activities also aided me in giving back to my school, which is something I am very passionate about. In college, I am the PR chair and member of the sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma. Additionally, I am in the Sign Language Club.
