What are the roles of a public health informatician in building and enhancing the public health infrastructure A public health informatician is a person who studies and deal with informatics; they deal with information and technology issues. Public health infrastructure consists of three interconnecting systems: organization, Information and communications technologies (ICT), and a skilled public health workforce. This paper defines the ways public health informatician can help enhance the public health infrastructure by building on the framework which was already established. Organizations The reasons for PHI is to create a sense of protection and monitoring. Since the 21st century the need for an improved PHI had been the number one topic at state, local and national level. The Affordable Care Act established in 2010 called for numerous health reforms, this act caused providers to be more accountable. According to Magnuson and Fu, Jr., “Public health agencies must enable partners to assess and monitor the population” (2014). This quote taken from the book shows the need for organization involvement in PHI.
