I would like to reflect upon how I manage my work priorities and professional development. In doing so I would go on to explain how I serve as a positive role model in the workplace through personal work planning and organisation, how I ensure personal work goals, plans and activities reflect the organisation’s plans, and own responsibilities and accountabilities. Then I will explain how I measure and maintain personal performance in varying work conditions, work contexts and contingencies, take initiative to prioritize and facilitate competing demands to achieve personal, team and organizational goals and objectives, use technology efficiently and effectively to manage work priorities and commitments, maintain appropriate work/ life balance, …show more content…
In addition to that, a positive role model in the workplace should always demonstrate an uncompromising integrity, good at working priorities, high energy, courageousness, being a committed and dedicated hard worker, being unorthodox and creative, being goal oriented, having inspired and contagious enthusiasm, staying level headed, and always having a desire to help others grow and …show more content…

Through life, one must make choices in their personal and professional lives in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Through the plays Bull, Waste, Little Eyolf, The Homecoming, and the musical Kinky Boots, it is evident that creating a distinction between one’s personal and one’s professional life is essential to living a healthy life. When one’s personal life and professional life overlap completely, trouble ensues.
This paper is about a reflective report. This report should demonstrate my ability to reflect and think critically myself, about my values and also about my attitudes. It goes on to explain the differences between beliefs, attitudes and values. It will also assess the impact of beliefs, attitudes and values on my own behaviour. It will also discuss management theories relevant to my job. It will finally, conclude and evaluate how someone with different beliefs, attitudes and values might interpret the theory differently.
After the completion and reflection of the Clearfit Career Feedback Report, the information that I most resonate with are my tendencies of getting things done, and work style. When working with others, I have always thought that I am they type of person who is persistent with goals and after carefully considering the feedback, I realized that the purpose behind my drive is not that I crave competition, but rather that I enjoy being successful and achieving personal results. This in turn has enabled me the ability to be a good planner and organizer. With this information, I have a better understanding of why I am such a stickler for planning, organization, and why I do not always take on leadership roles in order to outperform others. In addition
the personal leadership development plan is to capture the self-awareness of an individual. People in general have a difficult time trying to figure out who they are and how they view themselves plus how others may see them. This plan touched on my personal strengths, areas of improvement, and also made me more aware of those areas I can improve. The Personal Profile System, Team Dimensions Profile, Full Range Leadership Development (FRLD), Kirton’s Adaption-Innovation, Critical Thinking, and Four Domains of Wellness concepts were all used to provide a better understanding of how I function.
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
Being a good leader means being able to guide people or organizations such as businesses. Being a leader means you have leadership in you, it means you have a set of skills that not everyone can possess and you can apply them to the situation that you are in. Not everyone can be a leader because not everyone can step up and take over a situation or maybe they don’t care enough to do something about it. A leader has to possess the following and more qualities, honesty, communication skills, confidence, commitment, intuition, a positive attitude, and creativity.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey, 2004) has become the cornerstone of leadership and management wisdom. The habits emphasize personal responsibility and personal leadership. There is challenge in living everyday under the guidance of the habits but there is also great benefit as living the habits can influence everything we do in life. I was introduced to Covey’s seven habits through a one day seminar at my workplace several years ago. I learned some of the terminology and a few of the concepts but never really understood the power of the practical application of the habits. Reading the Covey materials has taught me that life is not about all the tasks that I accomplish but instead about accomplishing the tasks that support what is important to me. Covey has taught me that there are elemental components that are applicable across the many roles that I have in my life. Those universal elements are integrity, vision, discipline, and passion. Embracing these ideas has opened my eyes to the endless applications and benefits of living the seven habits.
Motivation is key in the workplace. It is developed from the collaboration of both conscious and unconscious principles such as the strength of desire or need, motivating force or reward estimation of the objective, and desires of the person and of his or her peers/co-workers. These elements are the reasons one has for carrying on a specific way. An illustration is an understudy that invests additional energy contemplating for a test since he or she needs a superior review in the class. The Inside and outside principles that animate want and vitality in individuals to be constantly intrigued and centered around their work, part or subject, or to try to achieve an objective.
Commitment, teamwork, integrity, and your behavior are certainly very important factors in workplace ethics; however, they are not the only things that make it up. There are many principles that you should show when in a work environment, but I believe that I have covered many of the most important ones. Just remember that you need to show a good behavior, be committed to your job and your employer, work well with others, and always be honest and morally sound. If you stand by these principles you will surely show good workplace ethics, and will be liked by those around
Many people find someone in his/her life to look up to, a role model. There are many different kinds of role models; they can be singers, public speakers, a parent, or even a friend. Role models also are not determined by certain criteria. A role model can be a role model just because they are a leader or have a great talent. Oprah Winfrey is considered a role model to many individuals because of her tough childhood, wonderful charity work, her schools, and the true relationships with her fans. Oprah stands out among many people on her ability to feel others’ pain and help those people get through their troubling times.
Secondly, there is the requirement of good leadership where all the employees are required to follow a good leader. Thirdly there is the requirement of collaborative environment in the organization where one employee helps other to achieve the success. Fourthly, a positive work environment is characterized by the good feedback and rewards from the upper level (King, and Lawley, 2012). If positive feedback is done to the successful work then the employees will be more motivated to continue it in the future. Fifthly, a positive work environment if characterized by the hiring of passionate people in the organization. In this case only the people having the good quality to fill the position as well as having any successful years of experience will be given the higher priority than the others in the organization. Sixthly, any fun atmosphere is required to make the employees more motivated as it will be helpful to lessen the monotony of the tiring work during the whole work session. There would be the requirement of growth potential for the employees in the organization. If the employees see a higher growth potential then they will be more stick in the organization. The organization which cares for the employees will always be given a top rank in the positive work environment. There would be requirement of higher scope of communication between the
Describe and explain how this factor can potentially have a positive influence on workplace relationships
It's a common misconception that great achievements are merely a result of hard work and luck. In actual fact, a positive attitude is the most critical factor for any success or living a happy, fulfilled life.
“Hard work is the key to success,” is something I heard from my dad almost every day during my child hood. Growing up with a single dad was really the first introduction I had to how important it is to be hard working. During the day he worked. After he got home he cleaned the house, helped with homework, made dinner, and somehow managed to never miss any of our extracurricular activities. Once he put everyone to bed he started on his school work. He would attend late night classes, and sometimes stay up past three just to finish his homework. He did this for seven years to earn his associate’s and bachelor’s degree. I was constantly reminded by him of the importance of hard work, but I never truly understood the meaning of what it is to be hard working
