“Hard work is the key to success,” is something I heard from my dad almost every day during my child hood. Growing up with a single dad was really the first introduction I had to how important it is to be hard working. During the day he worked. After he got home he cleaned the house, helped with homework, made dinner, and somehow managed to never miss any of our extracurricular activities. Once he put everyone to bed he started on his school work. He would attend late night classes, and sometimes stay up past three just to finish his homework. He did this for seven years to earn his associate’s and bachelor’s degree. I was constantly reminded by him of the importance of hard work, but I never truly understood the meaning of what it is to be hard working
I was five years old when I first fell in love. From the moment I kicked my first soccer ball I knew it would be a part of my life forever. I started playing competitive soccer when I was ten years old. My team traveled all over the state and after becoming the best in the state we started traveling for tournaments across the country. I worked hard to be the best on the team, and eventually was elected

I am currently working towards graduating in four yeares and then continuing on to medical school. It will take more hard work than I have ever experienced, but in the end it will bring me the success I strive for. Hard work is trying your hardest at something and not stopping once you receive it. It is doing something that may not be ideal but eventually bring you success. Hard work is not easy. It takes a large amount of time commitment in order to gain success from the hard work. To me, this time commitment is a large part of what it means to be hardworking. Through my failures and successes and the support and good example of my dad, I have learned this true meaning and importance of hard work. Over time it has, and will continue to become, one of the most important values in my
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Growing up, my parents never expected perfection but expected that I try to accomplish my best. The effort I’ve put forth in learning has been reflected in my grades throughout my high school career. I’ve entered myself in vigorous course work such as AP Government and AP English to become well prepared for my college career, all while maintaining a 4.4 grade point average this year. Not only do I engage in AP classes, but up until this year I had no study halls. I wanted my day to be packed full of interesting classes that I would enjoy learning about. My grades and choice of classes prove the effort that I put forth in my learning. Working hard now can only pay off in the future. Learning now creates a well-rounded human being. Working to learn is why I am so dedicated to my studies now.
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
The results of hard work are astronomical. Despite popular belief, efforts to succeed do not go unnoticed, such as the practice that goes into mastering a hobby, skill, or talent. All throughout one’s life, people are told to work hard and to try their best at everything they accomplish. This has an effect on what is widely considered to be success and how to achieve it. Although many credit others’ victories to innate talent, the true key to success does not lie in talent, but in hard work.
Hard work is something that was drilled into me from my high school track coach. If you're going to want to be something you have to put the work in he always said. He always wanted our team to be a family and work hard together. He never wanted to have someone ever doubt how hard we worked for what we earned.
As I was growing up, it was my dream to become a famous soccer player. Driven by this motivation, I started playing soccer when I was five years old. Since then I had played for my elementary, middle, and high school team until I joined college and focused on my study.
When I was a young girl, my older brother always did very well in school and he and the rest of our family were always very proud of his work. As I grew older and noticed all of my brother’s achievements I decided that I wanted to not only achieve what he had, but to also achieve things that he had not. Because of this strive to reach and surpass the standards that my brother had set, I developed into a person with great determination. Throughout my life I have always set goals for myself and then did everything I could in order to meet those goals. This aspect of determination in my personality has allowed me to get to where I am today, a student of George Mason University. Whenever I am faced with an obstacle, such as a hard class, I make
When I turned three, I started playing my favorite sport to this day, Soccer! I love soccer because it gives me this feeling of excitement and I just love winning with all of my friends on the field. I loved soccer and I looked forward to it every day. I met a lot of my friends in soccer and it is one of the reasons that I started to become an athletic person. Soccer is still my favorite sport and I love it. I am planning to still play soccer up to the varsity team.
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Hard work is challenging work. But why does it have to be challenging work? Because challenging work, when intelligently chosen, pays off. It’s the work that people of lesser character will avoid. And if you infer that I’m saying people who avoid challenging work have a character flaw, you’re right… and a serious one at that. If you avoid challenging work, you avoid doing what it takes to succeed. To keep your muscles strong or your mind sharp, you need to challenge them. To do only what’s easy will lead to physical and mental flabbiness and very mediocre results, followed by a great deal of time and effort spent justifying why such flabbiness is OK, instead of stepping up and taking on some real challenges.
I believe that hard work is the real treasure of a person because without hard work we cannot achieve our dreams and goals in life. No one can achieve success without doing hard work. It starts when we stop looking for alternatives or shortcuts towards success. We need to remember that there are no short cuts to success. Hard work, complimented with an intense desire to struggle and to achieve success is the only sure way of reaching success that you have always wanted. Hard work is one of the secret for us to be successful in life. Laziness and sluggishness makes one’s life a curse and only hard work can make your life a blessing. We cannot work hard if we don’t have goals. The meaning of goal according to Wikipedia is a desired result of a

Hard work is the willingness to do something, with the objective to give it everything that it takes to succeed at doing it.
“The failure is the mother of success” this Chinese quote said that failure is not the end. Failure is where people learn from their mistake. People cannot be successful all the time. Indeed, there are many people who learned from their failures before being successful. Each failure that people had met is a helpful lesson and valuable experience to help them become a better person.
