1) How do you currently exhibit leadership and what does leadership mean to you?
I currently exhibit leadership in my organizations, social life, and my schoolwork. I serve as the Vice President of Tech Lions Club, coach an intramural softball team, and lead by example in school by working hard, earning good grades, and contributing to a research group. To me leadership means a person cares about those around him or her, and is willing to do just about anything to help those people become the best they can be.
2) If you could be any leader, who would it be and why?
If I could be one leader, I would have to say Peyton Manning, for a few reasons. As an athlete, Manning was not only a household name for his talent, but also for how he was as a teammate. As a rookie, he set the record for most interceptions by a rookie. He didn’t let that ruin him and he ultimately went on to become one of the best to play the game. He encouraged younger guys around him and help transformed them into great players too. Lastly, he put his friends and team before him and this was shown when he had to swallow his pride and let the Colts organization move onto the future with Andrew Luck rather than trying to be something he no longer was. All in all, if I could be a leader I would chose Peyton Manning due to his selflessness, encouragement, humility and determination.

What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?
I believe that every leader should be a strong communicator. Communication is an important skill to have as a leader because you must be able to share ideas, discuss thoughts, and collaborate with peers in order to achieve success. Without communication, verbal or nonverbal, it is hard to find a way to encourage people to work together toward an end
goal. 4) What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as a leader? As a student at Texas Tech, I feel as though every day I act as a leader in some aspect of life whether that in class, clubs, work or something else. I serve as the Vice President of an organization and am also a member of several leadership organizations, such as President’s Select. My freshman year I attended an eight-week leadership seminar at Tech to help better my leadership skills. I am always on the lookout each semester for similar growth opportunities. As a leader, I find it important to always find new ways to involve myself and work on my different leadership skills so that I can be best prepared for any situation that might present itself.
Tom Brady is a very well known player in the NFL and a 3 time Super Bowl winner. He was also the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the superbowl and MVP at two of those Super Bowls. Along with that he is married to model Gisele Bundchen. There is no doubt that he has had a very successful life so far this is when his story begins.

On Sundays in the fall people all over the world are watching pro football. But do they know how it came to be or how the rules have gotten to be the way they are today? Most people don’t, so I am going to tell you all about it.
“Every game i’ve played, regardless if it was pre-season or super bowl, meant the same to me, and I laid it all on the line.” quoted by Brett favre. He won two of Super Bowls and they were both with the Packers. Brett favre also played a total of 16 seasons with the Packers as well. He also won the straight MVP awards in three straight seasons. Brett favre is an influential person because of his outstanding football career, three straight MVP award wins, and his career as a franchise quarterback.
As our text says, there is no one definitive definition that best encapsulates the true nature of what “leadership” really is. For me, I would define leadership as the ability to influence and share with others the understanding of how something is to be done in order to accomplish a particular goal, task, or objective. Leadership doesn’t necessarily mean “to lead”. As mentioned in our previous class, anyone can be a leader. You don’t have to be in a position of power to display active leadership. Leadership is an ability that we can learn, improve upon, and share as we grow as individuals. Leaders may not all share the same vision and purpose but they all have the power to influence others in the way they choose to act, behave, and make decisions. This is how I see leadership to be based on my own beliefs and experiences.
According to Business Dictionary.com, leadership is defined as the individuals who are the leaders in an organization, regarded collectively. It also can be define as the activity of leading a group of people or an organization or the ability to do this. Leadership involves the establishing of a clear vision, sharing the vision with other so that they will follow willingly, providing the needed information, knowledge, and methods to realize the vision and coordinating and balancing the conflicts interests of all members and stakeholders.
Leadership is being able to direct or guide other people by either your own actions or by actually guiding them into the right direction (Acumen). Inspiration to be a leader might come from many different areas like your family, friends, peers, or even teachers. My inspiration didn’t really occur to me until I started attending college in August 2013. In all actuality I never even thought of how to be a leader until I was in Mrs. Moore’s Perspectives class. I now have a desire to be a great leader, and the inspiration has come from Mrs. Moore, and my family. I am the first to attend college out of my family, so in a away I have already started leading my siblings in the right direction. Being a leader means inspiring others to pursue their dreams, and aspirations and helping throughout the journey to success. Being a leader has nothing with authority or being able to tell other what, and how to do things, it’s about having people who look up to you and want to follow your example.
Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leadership is so much deeper than having power and bossing people around.
Leadership can be shown through any person in any type of situation. In a classroom discussion, on the playing field, or in public a sign of a leader is evident. A person is born a leader. Certain humans know what to do when the time calls for it. Many people in positions can be entitled a leader such as basketball players. Even a famous movie star can be given this title. These people are not true leaders. True leaders are the belaboring teachers and the intellectual speakers. These are the people who show that leadership is an action, not a position.
To be a leader you need to be able to inspire others, get people motivated, and set an example to other people. A leader needs to do all of these because if one of these aspects fails people don’t look at the leader...
To inspire and influence others, a leader must have many skills and abilities. As motivational speaker Jim Rohn, states, “ the challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.” (2010) Moving an entire group of individuals toward a singular goal is a considerable undertaking. Without effective communication skills and a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished, one will feel like they are trying to herd cats rather than leading.
A good leader must be articulate, in order to reach all the different types of people in the group. Someone who can speak well can convince all the people of the group to do as you wish. One who speaks well can impose their thoughts on the group. Also, someone who does not speak well is less likely to be listened to than someone that does speak well. One who speaks well will benefit the group the most.

An essential part of a leader lies in their ability to motivate and influence people to follow their lead. In order to be a good leader, one must have self-confidence, communication skills, charisma and integrity. These are the fundamental skills that make a good leader. Self-confidence is the attitude that one possesses in which one is not afraid to make decisions based on their ideas. Communication skills allow a leader to convey his or her ideas or thoughts carefully. Charisma is what makes a leader appealing to the public, and integrity is what allows the public to trust and have faith in the leader. Without these skills, a leader would just be mediocre, and not great.
A successful leader is also be a good communicator also. A communication is success only the listener understood the conversation. If you want to be a successful
