School work has always been a big deal in a student’s life. There’s two options do it or take a zero. Nowadays parents are seeing what happens when there are multiple assignments given not only that, but having exams to worry about as well, sometimes it’s the parent’s expectations that effect a student’s being. The pressure of students trying to get good grades has become a huge factor where it sometimes leads to serious problems. College has always been an important topic in my family, although my parents never had the chance to finish high school, my mother refused to see her children walk that same path. Homework has increased over the years where students have up to stacks of assignments due. There were multiple times in high school where I had to take up all-nighters only to be able to complete them all. It’s much more difficult now to complete homework due to the fact that some students, including myself, not only have to worry about going to school, but also have jobs, competition/games, practices after school or trying to be involved in organizations to worry about as well. I’m not saying those reasons are excuses to not complete the work, but only pointing out that it takes double to the amount of work to complete them all and still have time to study for other subject that need attention. Having late night assignments can cause lack of sleep, which leads to dazing off in class and missing more important information for that subject leaving the students behind, I know this because there was a point where I was in that similar situation. I missed a couple of practices because I knew my education was much more important than my sport, stayed after school and did the best I could to be back on track. Not every student gets the same results that I did, some have so much on their plate to the points where dropping out seemed like the best outcome, I know some people that
