The basis of this paper is to review and examine specific principles and theories of cooperation and argument management as reflected by a specific story of the Middle East peace process within the named article. The article is entitled "The Wounds Of Peace," by Connie Bruck. This, of course, is one individual author's perspective, yet, nevertheless, it is the view of this author that much of the content is historically factual and accurate, with a definite sense of individual perspectives as purported by the author. To the greatest extent, this author shall attempted to meet those requirements as per the related principles and theories of negotiation and conflict management. Similarly, this will take place within the context of the Middle East peace process, guided within a specific time and place. To a large extent, this author should also like to state that his perspectives will emanate from those theories and principles which are rooted within negotiation and conflict management. Probably, no where else on this Earth (with the possible exception of Northern Ireland) are the principles and theories of negotiation and conflict management more contentious than those that exist within the Middle East

Conerly (2004), further states two things attribute to the way conflict is managed. One is the importance of meeting your own goals and the other is the importance you attribute to relationships and wanting to get along with others.
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, the narrator specifies the conflict in a variety of ways. For example when Rainsford was running away from General Zaroff and he ran into a problem which was the quicksand. Also when Rainsford was being hunted he remembered a few traps that he used on animals that he would try on Zaroff. Lastly Rainsford was hiding from Zaroff but he was really frightened because he did not want to die. Therefore being hunted is not a good thing because other than dying you can get severely hurt.

Engagement in peaceful and violent interactions, as well as the conflicts consequent from the, has changed greatly in the modern world. With the vast advancement in technology, our ability to communicate over long distances with various media devices has improved the ability to conduct peaceful conversations. This in itself decreases the chances of violence as all party members involved in a conflict of some sort are able to access and correspond with one another, if they so choose, without jumping the gun and heading straight into a violent solution. However, weapon technology develops simultaneously with modern technology, resulting in extreme weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear weapons and the fact that these weapons are so easily accessible enables violent interactions. Both the “Conflict Resolution” and “Nonviolence” paradigms have not been able to keep up with the development of modern technology and are therefore not applicable in some instances. While the “Conflict Resolution” paradigm maintains its applicability for most situations, the “Nonviolence” paradigm becomes obsolete in regards to the nuclear weapons that play such a large role in modern day conflicts. Nevertheless, both paradigms are useful tools in international peacemaking – methods such as negotiation from the “Conflict Resolution” paradigm are independent from the type of conflict involved. Similarly, the “Nonviolence” paradigm has methods e.g. the creation of peace movements, which are applicable to all conflicts regardless of their nature. This shows that while they might be limited in some aspects, the “Conflict Resolution” and “Nonviolence” paradigms are still useful in conflicts nowadays and contribute tools to international peacemaking even tho...
Before understanding how to deal with conflict, one must understand what conflict is. Conflict can be defined as, “any situation in which incompatible goals, cognitions, or emotions within or between individuals or groups lead to opposition or antagonistic interaction” (Learning Team Toolkit, 2004, pp 242-243). Does the idea of conflict always have to carry a negative connotation? The growth and development of society would be a great deal slower if people never challenged each other’s ideas. The Learning Team Toolkit discusses three different views of conflict: traditiona...

It is essential for progressing into who you want to be. It shows you what you are made of. It teaches you more about yourself, how to approach what you want, and how to maintain the success that you have. According to the utilitarian theory, every individual does not choose on the foundation of his or her pleasure or pain with the majority being dominant (Shaw, 53). Instead, we add up all of our pleasures and pains no matter how major or minor they may be and choose the act that results in the maximum amount of happiness. Utilitarians evaluate actions according to their consequences, because different actions generate varying results in different situations. Therefore, almost anything in principle may be morally right in a given circumstance (Shaw, 51). In this society, conflict- resolution would most definitely be a moral
Israel was not considered a country until the United Nations made it its own country in 1948 because Israel and Palestine were having territorial and governmental issues (Issitt and Montanez - Muhinda). The conflict between the two countries began in the twentieth century. The Jews were living on Palestinian territory and because of that the Palestinians were furious about it. Palestine owned 45 percent of the land and Israel owned the other 55 percent. Palestinians thought this division of the land was unfair because they got less land yet both countries had to share the Holy City of Jerusalem. Also, ethnic and religious differences cause the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The United States got involved with this conflict by joining

However, one of the definitions of the word “conflict” includes a “mental struggle resulting from incompatible or opposing needs, drives, wishes, or external or internal demands” (Full definition of conflict, n.d.).
