My fascination with the human body started at age 7 as a young gymnast. Watching the older girls bend themselves into odd shapes like I used to with my dolls was amazing, I found myself wanting to understand how the body allows us to do such incredible things. The gymnastics then had to give way to a greater passion for athletics and, when training 8 times a week, injuries inevitably followed. The first of which was a sprained ankle. The visit to the physiotherapy clinic that followed would be the first opportunity I had to experience how my passion for understanding the human body could be translated into a very rewarding career. Following much competition, I have been awarded the position of Head Girl which brings many responsibilities that range from giving assemblies to younger years and speaking at presentation evenings to organising events and looking after younger pupils. The communication skills I have improved since becoming Head Girl have been enhanced through my work as a peer listener which involves listening to younger pupil’s concerns both in and out of school life. I have also had the opportunity to further my passion for all sports as Vice House Captain as I organised house teams, umpired and encouraged the younger pupils. Following my GCSE results, I was chosen for ‘Best all-round year 11 student’ in 2016 which was based on my academic results, contributions to the school (one of which was a national prize for technology) and extra-curricular activities. I also coach our Year 8 netball team as I want to help give them the opportunities the school gave me at that age. Due to the fact that I wanted to further my skill and knowledge, I decided to go on the England Netball Level 1 coaching Course which I passed earlier this
