After three years of working as a technician for Roxbury Community College, I want to return to academics and further my knowledge of information technology by studying at UMass Lowell. I graduated from Framingham State University in 2010 with a degree in Computer Science, which promptly enabled me to enter the workforce that same year. I chose to begin working in the field to gain some practical experience and solidify my goals of advancing in a technical career. I have loved my work from the beginning: especially learning cutting edge methods and discussing solutions to difficult problems with the senior technicians. Although I enjoy both the technical and client services aspects of my work, I find that I am not going to be satisfied carrying …show more content…
I was fortunate to have professors at Framingham State who would challenge as well as mentor us. Because of this, I am always seeking new projects and advancement in my skills. I was recently approached and asked to develop a website for a charity non-profit in Haiti. This proved successful due to my technical aptitude and ability to learn quickly, which I gained through my years at Framingham State. Knowing that there are many aspects to Information Technology, I anticipate using these skills throughout the future. Many people have asked why I did not continue directly to graduate school after obtaining my degree. The answer is that I wanted to make sure that I had chosen the correct subject and right place before embarking on a course of study that would involve many years of my life. The years between have matured me both personally and professionally, giving me the discipline to work hard and strive for the best. When I began taking business courses to assist in my career, I found that my poor performance at the undergraduate level became overshadowed. I expect this to continue as I grow throughout my graduate

The decision to enroll in graduate school came after considerable time and soul searching. While contemplating the decision to return to school I thought about life, school and work. I realized that my experience in these areas have prepared me for the challenge and I am going to succeed.
I went back to school with the simple goal of getting my degree and moving ahead in my career. School, education and obtaining my degree were always important to me, since my profession requires a bachelor degree to qualify for national certification, it was a better excuses than any to finally go to college and get the degree I had always wanted. As an adult student I put a lot of pressure on myself to do everything to the best of my ability, to keep the bar high and to go above and beyond what I even expected of myself; many times over extending my self and doing too much.
One of my favorite quotes is by Steve Jobs, states, "Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become." This quote is exactly what I am doing today by submitting my application to the Dental Hygiene program. I am taking years of training, success, and failure and focusing them all in one direction on obtaining my deepest desire. Over the last fourteen years, I've had plenty of time to develop myself and gain a full understanding of what I want to do with my life. I've come to not only love and appreciate every experience I've had in the medical field, but also aspire to grow and embrace the new challenge. Working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient surgery clinic I learnt that I excel most when I'm working directly with patients, in a hands-on environment. I also found out that I'm extremely passionate about educating people, especially mothers; because I believe mothers play a key role in teaching the next generation about how to develop healthy lifestyle habits.
Over the years, the importance of a college degree has become prevalent than ever. It is believed that by obtaining a college degree, a student is able to increase their net worth through the experiences they have gained through college. By obtaining a Bachelor’s degree, students are projected to have more opportunities available to them once they have completed their degree. Although a college degree comes at very high cost, students are more than willing to endure the expense in order to improve their chances of obtaining the dream job they have been dreaming of. As students are pursuing a college degree, every student has a different reason as to why they are pursuing a college degree. At the end of their journey however, students are more
Educational Goals: Education is extremely important part of my past, present, and future goals. I currently hold an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design Media. I have found that an A.A.S Degree does not go as far al I originally intended in the Rochester, MN area and furthering my education will be a necessity for my future career goals. Over the past 2 years I have been working on my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the Minnesota School of Business Rochester campus. I am currently a senior with 3 quarters left before a spring graduation. After a June graduation, I plan on taking a summer quarter break. After summer break I will either continue on at MSB for my Masters in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing or transferring the University of Minnesota for my Masters in Adult Education. After my Masters Degree is complete I will decide at that time if I wish to continue on and achieve my Ph.D.
Real knowledge, like everything else of the highest value, is not to be obtained easily. It must be worked for, studied for, thought for, and, more than all, it must be prayed for”
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
People travel miles in search of their true passion; some find them early in their life and I consider myself lucky enough to be one among them. I found my true calling at the age of 12 on a field trip to a milk factory. It seemed like the Disneyland of science with huge machineries, conveyer belts running all around, and instruments working about in their own rhythm with sheer intricacies and perfection. As a kid, I was eager to understand the mechanics behind this magical rhythm. The desire of gaining in-depth knowledge about Control System and Automation eventually led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my undergraduate study.
Post my under graduation with an Engineering degree in Information Technology from Nagpur University, I realize that I needed to gain practical working experience as a Network Engineer to gain first-hand knowledge of what the life of a Network/System Engineer entails. At my job, I especially had the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge projects and discuss ideas with senior engineers and founder of the firm. I soon realized that, although I enjoy handling the complex situations and their upcoming results, I was unsatisfied with carrying out only routine procedures under the direction of others. I wanted to be part of a team that directs the course of the project. My senior colleagues have encouraged my ambition and I feel this is the right time for pursuing my higher studies.
Despite the challenges that Cynthia Matson faces in her position, she is consistently in the top ten percent of ITT Tech campuses for student job placement and has always made the goal of a minimum 80% job placement rate for new graduates. The key to success in this field is to build a relationship early with students and nurture their goals and desires while working closely with academics to assure students are ready for the workforce. "Companies need people who can come in and get up and running without a lot of investment in time." (Lee, 2001).
An ambition to learn and grow and having passion for engineering have prompted me to go in for graduate studies. Chasing my Dreams! While growing up at a young age I was always intrigued by objects that produced mechanical work and energy be it prime movers such as automobiles, construction and mining equipment, turbo machinery such as jet engines, space shuttles or complex mechanisms of mechanical watches, I used to spend a lot of time trying to learn and figure out their basis and propositions, it was necessary for me to explore my inner conscience to understand my fascination towards machines and their ingenuity, Mechanical engineering seemed a direct consequence of my convictions. I have always admired my father as a civil engineer and his hard work and struggles throughout his life; He has always been a role model for me. He motivated me to pursue my dreams so I decided to pursue my undergraduate study in Mechanical Engineering
My ambitiousness and networking opened the doors for me to work at Dell computers after graduating from high school. This was a match made in heaven because my love for technology and business would be brought together. I was able to thrive in this environment due to effectiveness communicating and ability to build rapport with customers and co-workers. I quickly exceled into a leadership role and started different incentives with in my organization. Working for a Global end to end IT Solution Company has allowed me the ability to work on different projects and different people all over the world. Because of my problem solving analytics I have overseen multimillion dollar contracts with the Federal Government agencies. Working with several DoD and Civilian agencies has allowed to experience real life business IT issues. It’s amazing that I have a helping hand in protecting our country and helping our country run more effectively. Creating solutions that work effectively takes lots of time and effort also lots of learning. Learning has inspired me to continue my education, it would make me more successful at my current job and show my daughters that education is important. I believe the University Of Texas at Austin is the right path to challenge myself further. Taking real life IT experience into the class room will also enable me to be a better classmate.
From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
