Truth to be told, I didn’t have much of an idea of what I wanted to do in the music industry when I declared the Music Business/Management major at Berklee. My sole reasoning behind my move was that the major combined my two favorite subjects--Music and Management.
However, as I started taking classes such as Current Issues in the Music Industry and Record Company Operations, I became more and more aware of the glaring issues present in the music industry. For instance, the current royalties payment infrastructure--especially those of large music labels--is extremely broken. The problems range from musicians not having enough awareness to properly register their work, to the lack of an efficient payment system to

I want to help create a better infrastructure (quite possibly with the help of blockchain technology) that labels can adopt so that musicians can get paid more easily and accurately. I want to provide resources for aspiring artists so that they can focus more on the process of creating music, as opposed to constantly worrying about what bills are due next week. Being from China, I also want to help create a more regulated, well-structured music industry for my home country.
I knew I needed to learn more about the ins and outs of the music industry, and that is why I’ve decided to apply to attend graduate school at Northeastern. Many Courses in the Music Industry Leadership program, such as Intellectual Property for Music Management and Advanced Licensing Techniques for Music Management, will be very helpful in achieving my professional goals. By continuing to pursue a master’s degree, I will also gain more precious hands-on experience under the guidance of the wonderful professors at your school. In fact, I am planning on conducting a research on how to create an infrastructure to better serve independent musicians during my time at Northeastern, a school located in a city that lives and breathes
The Entertainment Industry is an expanding industry with numerous career opportunities especially for the quick learning students in today’s world. I chose to study the entertainment industry because I have always had a passion for it. I grew up with music always playing on the radio and if the radio was off, the television was tuned into some show. I know many people listen to music and watch television all the time, but there is so much more to this industry. Being so passionate has led me to studying specific things in the industry and learning the ins and outs of it, which is helping me to find a potential career. There are many people in the industry that I look up to and one person, who has made it in particular, is Debra Rathwell.
As a member of entertainment industry completing this certificate is vital in my career. Learning legal business practices will engage me with an understanding of strategic plans and contracts for the industry. The Entertainment Law and the Industry fascinated me to this program. The certificate will grant me with a practical approach to the laws in the entertainment industry. The University of Southern California offers a comprehensive knowledge of the entertainment law.
Nothing lasts forever. Everything, whether good or bad has to come to an end. But people do say that sounds and voices do not die. Melodies we hear in our life lives on for generations and ever after. No matter who we are or wherever we come from; in whichever situation we were in, at some point of our lives, we have come across certain melodies that still live in our heart. And I am no different from others. There are certain musical pieces that have not only influenced my life, but have made a significant impact to change me for the better.
In order to help get me started with this, I am taking AP music theory to get me prepared for college theory classes. In this class, we not only study theory and how music is put together, but we also study music history and famous composers throughout musical history. Throughout my senior year, I will be applying to a few different colleges or various scholarships. Because my family has had to fight for what we have today, receiving a scholarship would mean the world to me. A scholarship could even get me on the right track to achieving my life goal of becoming a professional musician. Once I actually get into college, I plan on being in all the musical electives I possibly can. Such as: choir, band, orchestra, and marching band. After I graduate college, I would like to audition for professional orchestras and travel the world as I fulfill my dreams and
Music has always been an important part of my life. During high school I have developed areas of service and leadership through interests in children and gardening, which will continue to be major parts of my life.

Music Business Music Business Exam Number One Question 1 - What is The music publishing industry at a glance would seem to be those who print sheet music, method books, lead sheets, and all of the texts or notated music that musicians (and those aspiring to be musicians) use. Years ago, this was what most music publishers did, but as the industry has evolved, the process has become much more complex. Music is not just ink and paper, intellectual material and property to the individual who writes it. Therefore, the song does not become "a song" when it is written down. This is not an easy concept to grasp because the song itself has no physical makeup.
The topic that I decided to research this semester is songwriters in the music business and what is required for them to have success in the music industry. There are many different aspects that come into play when determining how successful a record becomes. I will look into the compensation of songwriters, music industry relations, the legal aspects behind the music industry, and more. Songwriters are among the most overlooked in regards to the success of an artist. The general public is not aware of the process that takes place with every song they hear.
Although money isn’t everything, being financially secure is very important. Money can’t buy love or happiness, but it makes life easier knowing you have a house to go home to, food in your fridge, and clothes to put on your back. My family had a hard time when I was growing up with making ends meet and I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to keep that from happening to my future family. If I apply myself in college and strive for knowledge, I will have the potential to become very adept in my field which will help me achieve my goal of financial stability because I’ll be able to keep a job. I also hope for my future that I stay open to new experiences, whatever the world may throw at me. I want to be able to travel and see new cultures, societies, and people. Hand-in-hand with traveling, I would love to volunteer all over the world, as well. I take great pride in doing volunteer work and it would be an enlightening experience to be able to help out around the world. Something else I am passionate about is music. I hope that I have the time and ability to continue on with my music career as my life progresses. Doing bands and music things at UWEC will help me to achieve this goal because I will learn immensely under great instruction. Going to UW Eau Claire will aid me in reaching all of these goals I have set myself. I am excited to see what my future holds for me
A music producer has many roles like gathering ideas for the projects, selecting songs and/or session musicians, proposing changes to the song arrangements, coaching the artist and musicians in the studio, controlling the recording sessions, and supervising the entire process through audio. The basic pathway to obtain this career is you would need a bachelor’s degree in music to become a music producer. Becoming a music producer helps me express myself by making music and expressing my mood. Music can represent different moods people are in. Music fits me well because I enjoy listening to music and making my own music whether it's with music apps or instruments.
1) What inspired you to want to work in the music industry? I have been involved with music for a long time as a DJ then pirate radio operator, once I gave up pirate radio I got into music production as this seemed a natural progression from being a DJ. It got to a stage where I wanted to take my music more seriously so applied to go back into full time education to do a degree as I was working as an IT account manager, I wanted to take me music more seriously and get some kind of formal qualification to try and help me forge a new career. There are many different job roles in the music industry and I felt by doing a FDA degree and now my doing a BA Honours at Westminster University this would help me in my quest. I have transferable skills from sales and account management and felt I had a lot to offer working in an environment I love.
Music is something everybody uses to help express his or her feelings. Whether it's dancing, smiling or crying, just listen to something that makes them feel a way; or since not everyone listens to something that makes them feel a certain way. When I was younger I didn't really think much about music, I just thought it was one of those things in the background. I didn’t give it much thought. Growing up I didn't have my own favorite type of genre or favorite type of music.
The process of choosing a career is, many times, a difficult decision. Many factors must be taken into account while deciding a career. Such factors usually include pay, work environment, and most importantly, what the person is interested in. Becoming a musician would be a highly fulfilling career for the reasons of broadening one’s musical abilities, people enjoying something that an individual made, and traveling the country, possibly even the world, for musical opportunities such as teaching, performing, and writing.
Music has been a key player in my life since before I knew what it really was; the rattle of corn in a bucket and the scores in my Mom’s Lord of the Rings movies echo through my mind. One of my earliest memories is jumping round the kitchen, singing to Taylor Swift with my older sister as she washed dishes and I played with the baby. Out of all the languages I know, none were more pleasant to learn, nor more wonderful to know than Music. I struggle with many components of spoken languages, but math and the patterns within it have always come naturally to me, I believe this might be why Music was in all an easy learn for me, I just learned rhythms in sound instead of patterns on paper. When I was eight, my big brother, Robert, taught me
