Personality is a set of behaviors, attitudes, feelings, and ways of thinking. Personality characterizes us and makes us unique and unlike anyone else. I would describe myself as an extrovert, meaning that I am energized by other people and things. I enjoy being around others as it motivates me and helps me improve more as a human being. I also gather my information primarily by trusting and relying on concrete information. Moreover, I make my decisions based on principles or facts. My approach to most of the things in life is extremely flexible because I do not like having a strict schedule that I am forced to follow. Additionally, I tend to adapt instead of stay structured and organized. After taking C. Jung i. Brigg Myers Personality Test, …show more content…
People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. ENTJs are characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves. Some of the famous people that match this personality are Steve Jobs, Gordon Ramsay, Harrison Ford, Margaret Thatcher, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jim Carrey. ENTJs love a good challenge, big or small, and they firmly believe that given enough time and resources, they can achieve any goal. This quality makes people with the ENTJ personality type brilliant entrepreneurs, and their ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of their plans with determination and precision makes them powerful business leaders. They have the ability to clearly identify problems and innovative solutions for the short and long-term well-being of an organization. Having a strong desire to lead, they're not likely to be happy as followers. ENTJs like to be in charge, and need to be in charge to take advantage of their special capabilities. ENTJs respect someone who is able to stand up to them intellectually, who is able to act with a precision and quality equal to their own. ENTJ personalities have a particular skill in recognizing the talents of others, and this helps in both their team-building efforts (since no …show more content…
Jung i. Brigg Myers Personality Test, I would point out that the test results were accurate for the most part. The test picked up most of the personality traits that I believed truly applied to me. However, there are two personality traits in particular that I believe are wrong. The Personality test revealed that I am Intuitive instead of Sensing. This means that I give more weight to information from my insight and imagination. I disagree because I believed I leaned more towards Sensing instead of Intuitive. Additionally, the Personality test revealed that I am Judging rather than Perceiving. This means that my approach to things is structured and organized. I would have to point out that this information is incorrect because I do not have or follow a particular schedule. My approach to getting work done is pretty flexible because I enjoy spending time with my friends, and family. Besides that I believe C. Jung i. Brigg Myers Personality test did a pretty good job at determining my personality
Personality is defined as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character. Our personality has a huge influence on our enduring, distinctive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors which influence how we adapt to our world. It’s how we define ourselves, and how others view you. Many psychologists have faced the challenge of trying to determine where our personality is derived from. Four main theories have been established on personality including psychodynamic, humanistic, trait, and social-cognitive. Using these theories, you can often better understand why people are the way that they are, such as Bill Cosby.
Overall, the INTJ type is an accurate description of my personality. I concur with the assessments that INTJ’s do not “take criticism personally” and they are not “afraid of hard work, and will put forth a great deal of effort towards something that they are interested in” (INTJ Personal Growth, 2014). I am confident in my own abilities and take no offense at work if others are able to show me a better/easier way of performing a task (as long I am approached professionally). Additionally, I am usually whole-heartedly committed toward efforts when I see the importance or benefit from such actions. For example, if I need to put in a few 15-16 hours days to ensure the job is done on-time and correctly I will do so without much thought. My temperament of “NT” also known as the “Rationals” is consistent with what I see in myself (The Four Temperaments, 2014). As stated in the Thinking section however, I do have a tendency to show empathy towards others when faced with an emotional
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. I would advise everybody to do the same,
After taking this personality test I could not decide if I felt that my results were accurate about me or not. The personality test resulted in describing me as an extravert, intuitive, feeling, and judging (Humanmetrics,
There are many personality tools available to anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of the subject, but Carl Jung’s theories have been in practice since 1940 (Humanmetrics. 2013). His theories have had many opportunities to be disproved, but instead they have only been elaborated on. The 2013Humanmetrics - Jung Typology Test utilizes not only Jung’s theory, but it incorporates those of the Myers and Briggs team for an improved holistic insight. The personality test and subsequent results consist of 8 possible preferences (6 from Jung and 2 additions from Myers Briggs) traits comprising a total of 16 possible combinations (Humanmetrics. 2013). My personality tests results reveal that I am what is called an Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Judging
“Catcher in the Rye”, by J.D. Salinger, is a timeless classic of a boy just trying to find himself in world full of rejecting people. The main characters name is Holden Caulfield. Holden is a sixteen year old boy who has been expelled from a yet another school. Holden has many problems in his life ranging from girlfriends to family. He does not have many friends, the girl he used to love had sex with a boy he hates, and his little brother passed away at a very young age. No matter what Holden tries to do, it seems life only gets worse. Holden has a strange personality. He wants to hold onto every childhood aspect that he can yet have sex with a prostitute. Every character in “Catcher in the Rye” has very different personalities and characteristics; each of these characters represents and shapes Holden’s own personality. Phoebe is the childhood side while Mr. Antolini is his adult side.
Upon taking the Myers Briggs personality test on the human metrics website I was not surprised that I received the conclusion of an ENTJ or “the natural born leader”. The role of an ENTJ is that you conduct yourself in a manner that is very logical and rational (“Personality”). The Myers Briggs Type Indicator test has been around for over 65 years and has continually evolved to become more accurate in identifying personality traits. I find that the ENTJ type of personality reflections are accurate due to the fact that I am a no nonsense type of leader that likes to take charge and get the job done. In order to become a better leader for your organization you can take the time to educate yourself on the other 15 types of personality traits. This will help a leader in better understanding the views of their coworkers and will give them the tools of deal...
I perceived my assessment results to be reasonably accurate. I am able to agree with most of the description of an INFJ personality. However, it is not something that I take literal, it is a good guide into my personality and how I perceive the world around me. The results of the assessment do not define me as a person but can help me understand aspects of my personality and help me develop ways that I can work towards being an individual who encompasses pieces of all personality types.
Psychology covers a huge field and one interesting aspect of it is personality. Personality by itself involves various issues. Some aspects are Psychoanalytic, Ego, Biological, Behaviorist, Cognitive, Trait, and Humanistic. Different types of behaviors are amazing to learn about, mainly the behavior therapy, collective behavior, crime and punishment, and Social behavior and peer acceptance in children. I chose Behaviorism over the other aspects because I believe behavior determines human personality and is very interesting. You can tell what one is by his behavior, and one behaves according to what place he has in society. By doing this paper on Behavior, I hope to get a better understanding of, if behavior develops a personality or if personality guides behavior. I also see behaviorism helping me in the future with my personal and professional career by understanding human personality and behavior better than I do. No matter what your major is, if you can determine one's personality by his behavior you can really get your work done from that person and understand the better than you would otherwise. This person could be your employee or your employer. Behavior Therapy Behavior therapy is the application of experimentally derived principles of learning to the treatment of psychological disorders. The concept derives primarily from work of Russian psychologist Ivan Pavlov. Behavior-therapy techniques differ from psychiatric methods, particularly psychoanalysis, in that they are predominately symptom (behavior) oriented and shows little or no concern for unconscious processes, achieving new insight, or effecting fundamental personality change. The U.S. psychologist B.F. Skinner, who worked with mental patients in a Massachusetts State hospital, popularized behavior therapy. From his work in animal learning, Skinner found that the establishment and extinction of responses can be determined by the way reinforces, or rewards, are given. The pattern of reward giving, both in time and frequency, is known as a schedule of reinforcement. The gradual change in behavior in approximation of the desired result is known as shaping. More recent developments in behavior therapy emphasize the adaptive nature of cognitive processes. Behavior-therapy techniques have been applied with some success to such disturbances as enuresis (bed-wetting), tics, phobias, stutteri...
Personality is a branch of scientific discipline that studies temperament and its variation among people. It is a dynamic and a set of characteristics possessed by their atmosphere, cognitions, emotions, motivations and behaviours in various things. Personality conjointly refers to the pattern of thoughts, feelings, social adjustments and behaviour consistently exhibited over time that powerfully influences one’s exceptions, self-perceptions, values and attitudes. It also predicts human reactions to different folks, problems and stress.
ENTJs, or "Commanders," are instinctive leaders who typify charm, certainty, and authority in a way that magnetizes others to their objective. (NERIS Analytics) According to Datadome, this may be expressed “with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader.” ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshal and direct and are often "larger than life" in describing their projects or proposals. This ability may be expressed as salesmanship, story-telling facility or stand-up comedy. In combination with the natural propensity for filibuster, our hero can make it very difficult for the customer to decline. (Datadome)These types make up only 3% of the world and often intimidate the more passive types making up the
This weekend, I decided to amuse myself and take the Myers-Briggs personality test. Rooted in Jungian psychological theory and developed by Isabel Briggs Myers, the exam seeks to find consistency and order in seemingly random human human behavior through a four part personality dichotomy. These dichotomies stem from the fundamental differences in how individuals perceive and interact the world around them as well as their “inner self,” thus corresponding to variations in passions, values, ideologies, inspirational sources, and skills. The first division relates to our attitudes towards the inner and outer world as well as the source of their energy, with the two options being extraverted (outgoing, outspoken) or introverted (appreciates solitude,
Do you know someone who is enthusiastic, is affirming, is upbeat, gets along with everyone, has natural leadership skills, and communicates eloquently? Most likely, this person has an ENFJ (Extroverted, iNtuition, Feeling, Judging) personality type. ENFJs are known to be warm and caring, and they thrive to provide guidance to others. They are focused on people, rather than things, ideas, or machines, so they are not too objective or logical and prefer to base their decisions on how they feel about a certain person or situation. They are charismatic, are excellent communicators, and can easily influence or manipulate others, making them suitable for leadership positions and even sales jobs. They are highly
Personality is something that defines who a person is, when taking a personality test I scored E(Extraverted),S(Sensing), F(Feeling), J(Judging). I tend to get my energy by being surrounded by people. Being in a group or with people make things interesting because most of the stories that end up being told are with someone else sharing that memory. This tends to hinder my learning and collaboration with classmates because I have to have a class that is well engaged in class activities. Having this personality type is also an advantage because I don't mind asking questions, meeting people, or working as a group and having some solo activities. (Having this personality type of ESFJ, this is an advantage in my academics because I am able to open up to new ideas of learning and work with others.)
Personality is defined in terms of the ways how people think, feel, and behave Over time, my life has changed in number of ways. In the same breadth, I have retained a number of life aspects over the years. My association with people, especially at the first sight, has not been easy because of emotions and the feelings I sometimes have. I have also developed in my openness, extraversion and the ability to agree to my personality. In acquisition of work experience, I have become more open to new skills, ideas and knowledge. My interaction with people has also seen me become more extraverted. In helping others during their times of need, I have improved on my level of agreeableness. I have also changed my perception about people and how I look at them in terms of personality, Character and conduct.
