I have desired to be in the medical field since my freshman year of school. Like a classic stereotype I wanted to go into the medical field after watching too much television, in particular Grey’s Anatomy. It was not the drama or love affairs that drew me into the profession but the adrenaline on a surgery coming in. The skills which they possessed to save a person’s life, and the relief of the family when the doctor was able to tell them that their loved one was going to be alright. Yes, I do aspire to go into surgery, specializing in either trauma or general. This goal is achievable, but it will take many years in college and medical school then residency. This scholarship, the Anderson Hospital Auxiliary

Throughout my four years in high school I have been fortunate enough to fulfill many of my aspirations and my thirst for knowledge. One goal that I would like to achieve is to become an international attorney. I have aligned my involvement in specific academic and extra-curricular activities to aid me preparing for the long road between my present situation and the day I pass the bar exam. Through my high school activities I have learned three virtues that I have deemed necessary to achieve my goal, passion, self-discipline, and perseverance.

My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. With all of the downfalls that I have experienced in my academic and personal life, a college education will make it possible for me to continue my journey into becoming a prestigious corporate lawyer. I have the drive for success and I am certain that with this scholarship I will be able to pay off my debt and help my mother with her own educational goals. I was content that I was able to encourage her to attend school and I am most fortunate to be given an opportunity to help both her and myself achieve our ultimate goals for the near future.
Money, success, and status are the basis of most goals for the youth of today, which you know from all the applications you read for these scholarships. For me though, my goals are geared towards others, especially because I want to go into the field of medicine, a topic dedicated to selflessness and aiding those in need. My interest began when I was first accepted into my prestigious, application based, magnet high school. This school has a dedicated faculty and curriculum oriented towards healthcare allowing me to be exposed to the knowledge and experience that shape a physician.
Reaching this goal will require help beyond me and my parents. Receiving this scholarship will make becoming an occupational therapist more possible for me. If I am chosen for this scholarship, it would not only be an investment made in my life, but also the lives that I will be helping through my
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
This scholarship will allow me to achieve my dreams and could help others too even if they think they're limited for financial reasons. I've always been an observer. During my middle school years, I constantly observed the different types of personalities, different interactions, and even different settings but, I never commented on anything. I took in everything in my sight but could never spit out words to analyze it. Everything I saw I broke it down in my head and I was stuck on how to react.
I am a survivor who conquered health and educational hardships by having determination, faith, and most importantly, God's grace. I refuse to let anyone tell me what I cannot do and who I cannot be.
