USAA defines itself by its dedication to help manage military members’ finances throughout their military career and beyond. (usaa). USAA and its employees are simply already motivated by serving the military community because those in the military have sacrificed so much to serve their country. Serving those in the military gives employees a sense of purpose and doing meaningful work. Motivating employees isn’t that simple though, therefore USAA’s motivational techniques have been analyzed in order to determine what areas the company is succeeding in and what areas need improvement.
While working for the Business Department of WCHS and helping with the yearbook, I have been able to see what pros and cons I have in my work ethic and ability. Throughout the past couple of weeks, I have seen my strengths and weaknesses while being an employee. I have learned how I could work on them, and how I can continue benefitting others with them. There are some areas in my work department which I find easy and fun, however there are others which I find tedious and more difficult. I know that throughout Work Based Learning I will become a better employee and person in general.

This course has taught me a lot about the role human service workers have in communities and what communities need from human services. I learned about why this type of work is so important and was able to seen that importance first hand through my observation hours at the Dorothy Day Center.
"Success through Service": The Lawyer's Ethos of Impactful Advocacy In the legal profession, "success through service" embodies a guiding principle that transcends mere professional achievement. It signifies a commitment to utilizing legal expertise, skills, and resources to serve others and effect positive change within society. This motto encapsulates the belief that true success is not measured solely by personal gain, but by the impact one makes through dedicated service to clients, communities, and the pursuit of justice. At its essence, "success through service" is about prioritizing the needs and interests of others above self-interest.
Following participation in an Engaged Department Institute sponsored by Campus Compact, a service-learning requirement was instituted for all majors in the department studied beginning Fall 2002. All faculty were encouraged to incorporate service-learning in their courses. A training session on service-learning was the centerpiece of a departmental retreat in January 2002. In order to develop closer relationships with community agencies, the department hosted a faculty-partnership luncheon the following fall semester. Potential community partners were invited to meet with faculty in an effort to forge new relationships with the University. In order to institutionalize service-learning, all recruitment advertisements specifically mention service-learning and all new hires are expected to include service-learning components in their courses. As a consequence of these efforts, this department has gone from teaching only a few courses with service-learning components to offering twenty five different classes (thirteen courses) by Fall 2002.

I never thought the biggest challenge of work would be simply returning after a four-month absent, after breaking my leg and going through that trial of my life I didn’t think anything would be hard, I was so wrong about that. I worked for a supplier company of Chrysler here in Belvidere. I use to build the dashboards for Jeeps and Darts. But coming back to work after four months of being on short term disability in my honest opinion could be one of the hardest things I’ve had to endure. Not even breaking my leg compares to the challenges that I had in my first week back. Thought it was stressful and had its challenges it was very short lived.
