I am going to write about Second Life people call it a game but there is the goal you don't win prizes. Second Life is an online virtual world everything in Second Life was created by a resident. Think of the possibilities if you are disabled or injured you can't do the things you used to do. But in SL you can walk, run swim, dance you can even fly! Ride horses, a motorcycle, sail a boat, I own six airplanes. So it's an outlet for some disabled people. You can be anything you want to be human, an animal, a space creature it's up to you. But there is a dark side people have their heart broken, marriages can be destroyed. SL is a gray zone - Is having a spouse in SL or girlfriend or boyfriend when you are in a relationship cheating? Since the advent of computers, fantasy role-playing games have made the leap from table top to computer. While the concept has stayed the same, many aspects of the games have evolved. Neverwinter Nights is a role-playing game that uses an electronic model similar to the popular tabletop game called Dungeons & Dragons. In Neverwinter Nights, the player ultimately becomes the hero of the story. The player is tasked with a number of challenging quests that test both the character and, hence, the player throughout a four chapter storyline. While the character might ultimately become the hero of Neverwinter, this game model offers choices that affect the dialogue and experience that each player has, and unlike tabletop games, the world of Neverwinter gives the player the option to play singly, with only non-player (computer controlled) characters. Another option, multiplayer, uses both non-player characters and other players. Additionally, the creators used literary elements to create a gender-friendly role-playing environment for both men and women.
In pages 20-24 of Reality Is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World, I agree that there are many different video games. For me, I am a fan of single-player games with story modes because I can play by myself and go at a pace that suits me. However, I enjoy playing online multiplayer when I have friends I can play with because it is fun interacting with friends and doing stuff together. I play on a console or my computer, but I have played on my phone and a hand-held device. I have not played a board game or card game in a while, but I would play it if the opportunity presents itself. The video games genres I play are sports, action, and adventure. Having activities involving individuals with limitations or disabilities will raise awareness of the different types of disabilities. There also will put something positive back to the community. You play a life of a in game person and do what you want to do in your life. You basically redo your life or “recreate” it and make this in game person’s life awesome! Well you see people in this game feel happy doing something they might not be ever able to do. Like being able to be a thief in a game because you know in real life you would never do such a thing. Have you ever wanted to be a really fit person? Well in the game you can, so why not? See this is how recreation games appeal to people!
From reading this book we can understand that the author Tom Boellstorff grew up playing video games with that interest he went beyond and got an interest in virtual worlds and he became an member of the "Second life", as an anthropologist he decided to apply the ethnographic methods which he gained from previous research where he did his studies in Indonesia to this online life and interviews in the subculture of Second life. "Coming of age in Second Life: An anthropologist explores the virtually human" is an ethnography book by Tom Boellstorff, this book Boellstorff argues between two worlds which is the virtual world and the world of anthropology. However, Second Life boasts that millions of accounts have been created (Second Life Official Site). It remains to be said just why they are doing this, but it appears that the conclusion one could draw from this is that virtual experiences do have meaning to us, insofar as people will choose them over certain real life experiences.

The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
The experience of game play can be described as an activity in which the player is virtually embodied in the game world. I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
