By the time we got everything sorted out it was late at night and we had to set up camp. While scouring the beach for any more survivors, we managed to find a large piece of wood, a tarp, some netting, and a box. Because I couldn't help much, due to my broken arm I had to let Tyson, Elizabeth, and my Dad set up a shelter. They managed to find two trees that were close to each other and put the piece of wood in between them. Then they took the tarp, draped it over the wood, and placed rocks on both ends of the tarp to hold it down. Following that they broke down the box we found and laid it under the tarp as a makeshift floor to our shelter. To stay warm my Dad made a fire by taking two sticks, and rubbing them together over kindling that we found in the island's forest. After starting the fire it was very late at night, and we were all exhausted from the day's events. We managed to squeeze all four of us under the small tarp tent and before I knew it I fell asleep with the sound of the crackling fire in my ear. …show more content…
I quickly got up making sure to not use my right arm and realized that I was the last one out of bed. I looked around for anyone else out of bed and saw Tyson and Elizabeth passing a coconut between them on the beach side. Intrigued as to how they found a coconut I speedily made my way over to them, excited with the prospect of, food and water. As I approached them they said hello to me, and asked how my sleep was. I told them that it was okay, except for my broken arm. After, they asked me if I wanted to play pass with them, I agreed, forgetting to ask where they got the coconut. We played pass with that one coconut for at least an hour, eventually starting to even make up our own games. After playing for a while my Dad came out of the forest and asked for help to collect coconuts. We happily agreed and headed off into the vegetated forest to help
...he prolonging sleep, to find himself at the hospital. As he struggles to wake up, he realizes that his left leg has been amputated:
It was almost night so we had to stop and find shelter. Or make something to last us one night. So we found a near by cave and stayed there but it was hard to sleep because the bats would never be quite. Probably because they are nocturnal. I 'm just glad that we didn 't find another bear. But we all know who would get to try and kill it first this time. We pulled out r sleeping bags and went to sleep on dirt. Not the most comfortable thing but we had to make do. It was morning and we had to keep
The first thing I heard was Virginia Beach vacation, and then in excitement I ran and got my stuff and started to pack. The part I was most excited about was that the hotel is a beachfront hotel room.I was so excited because I love the beach and I really wanted to go back to the beachfront hotel and stay there. I went there when I was in second grade. I have gotten to go there a few times since second grade, but I did not get to stay there overnight.
People rode on top of inflatable beach toys, rubber rafts and even air mattresses. They swam through the rising waters to safety. Others simply waded through the water on foot. They filled plastic trash bags with their belongings to keep them dry.
Austin, Hannah, and Cheyenne were down the tree very quickly, but I was struggling. About the time I went to jump, I fell out of the tree and caught myself in my arms. Screaming came out very quickly as I could feel my heartbeat in my arm. My parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents were outside quickly, and to the hospital I went. I was very uncomfortable, but I thought the x-ray of my arm was the coolest thing.
There I stand on the Atlantic Ocean beach in Daytona, Florida. It’s 7:49 A.M, June 28, 2015. I feel my size ten feet sink into the frosty sand. With my board in my left arm, and sand covering my body, I seize my direction towards the blue ocean. As I halt at the base of the monumental ocean, I gaze in both directions, not a life in sight. I feel at peace, solitude, in my own meager world. As the crisp ocean mist wipes my sand replete face, I bounce into the ocean with my board under my body, cruising into the profound blue sea.
Everyone has a place to brings peace and serene. A place where they can let everything go and have nothing to worry about. For me, the sunrise and sunset of Pensacola Beach in Florida was the ultimate cure for all of my problems and worries that were occurring in my life. Early in the morning waking up to the constant loud sound of my alarm put me in a soothing mood. As I head to my closet to open up the narrow framed door to reveal all the simple clothing, I fill with excitement of going to the beach to watch the sunrise and sunset.
I race down the mountain that has been covered with a thick blanket of snow with my dad at my side. I stop, and I see a large freestyle terrain course coming up. "Keep straight, Dad," I holler. "I want to go on the trick course." I ski down and wait for Dad.
This summer I traveled to Orange Beach. And why I went because I was going to play in the world series. And I almost got to go skiing. And my mom, dad, mawmaw, and two of my cousins and my brother. And we got to the qualifying round and we came in 3rd place. It happend on June26 - 31. And we saw dolphins. And I saw a shark. And me and my brother caught some fish. And I stayed in a condo. And I didn't see any jellyfish. But I caught some sandfleas. And some crabs. And I saw some boats. And I saw people parasaling. And I eat some good good. But I saw some people patrolling the roads. And I saw some chopped food. And when I saw the shark I started
The very next day My uncle john came over, he was gonna go camping with us. He had packed a tent for me, my sister and himself. Mom and dad already had there tent so he my
When I stepped foot onto Aruba’s beaches they were breathtaking. With its bright white sands and crystal clear water, it felt like I was in a postcard picture. The sands felt like walking on a cloud. The water was crystal, and the fishes were glistening from the sunlight. The weather is splendid. Each day was a cloudless 80+ degree weather. Aruba's known for their nice beaches for it is on most, if not all travel guides. You can see the whole island from the top of a lighthouse. The sunset is marvelous from that view. If you glance the horizon line from the beaches, you can see Venezuela. The sunrise was like orange, bubblegum, and blue raspberry sherbert. As I scanned the jewelry store, the gems were alluring. The restaurants come
We didn’t have a basement, so in inclement weather our home was not the place to be. As we’d done many times before, my brothers and I each grabbed our backpacks, loaded a few of our favorite things into them, and set them by the door. All of a sudden my parents burst in through the front door, both shouting loudly. Before anything could be done or anyone knew what they were shouting about, we heard a loud POP!
As I lay on the minute golden grains of sand, I looked up at the brilliant sky, adorned with flashes of pink and orange and purple, mirroring the colours of a flawless seasoned apricot. The goddess-like sun’s face is being embraced by the demure navy fingertips of the skyline.
My counselor gave us big water jugs to carry to our campsite he warned us that they were very heavy before we walked to our campsite. Our walk was not that far when we got to our yurt we set our things down and claimed which bunk would be ours we each got two bunks to ourselves. Next, we went outside our yurt and were giving crew jobs to do. I was on Kitchen crew for the first night so I and the kitchen crew was busy cooking over the fire. After dinner and we cleaned up. My group decided we wanted to play hide and go seek. When we were there we had no idea at all what time it was so we all went to bed when we were tired. The next morning we went to the “ Barn” which has a rope climbing course it is very cool briefly, we all were tired and decided to go back to our yurt. The girls were talking inside their yurt. Us girls decided to try to fit everyone in the top bunk and get a picture we did that and one girl fell off the top bunk it was very exciting and fun. Soon it was dinner and we did the job that we were assigned to. We played games until we fell
Upon seeing my flightless wiry, they took me to a doctor to have me partake in an x-ray. During the wait at the doctor’s office, my parents didn’t believe it was broken. It was bent and I couldn’t move it, but they still didn’t believe it. Jokingly, they started placing bets of the condition of my arm. The doctor finally took me to an x-ray machine.
