Last week, My family and I took a trip to Washington, DC. We drove there, which was a fairly terrible experience, but DC itself was nice. We stayed in the Hyatt Regency hotel, One of the nicer hotels in downtown. It's in a fabulous location, only a short walk will take you to the Capital building, Union Station, and the National Mall. We actually walked from the Lincoln Memorial all the way back to the hotel (much to Claire's dismay) in around an hour. All in all, I don't think we could have found a better place to stay. Some of the most notable places that we went to were the Smithsonians, specifically the Air and Space museum and the Museum of Natural History. The Air and Space museum features many exhibits, though most of them are somewhat

In 2009, my parents and I decided to travel to San Antonio, Texas for vacation. My parents and I have traveled there before, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back. With many places to see and do; my parents thought that we should go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It was at this theme park, where something happened that I would never forget.
Every person has an American Dream they want to pursue, achieve and live. Many people write down goals for themselves in order to get to their dream. Those never ending goals can range from academic to personal. As of today, I am living my dream. My American Dream is to become a nurse, travel to many places, have a family, and get more involved with God.
It was back when I was 14 years old in the 8th grade, when I got an opportunity to take a trip to Washington D.C. to learn, explore, and meet new people in a different state. There was a long way to go, for me to be able to be chosen to go on the trip. This trip was competitive because only 10 students would get to go. I had to do some paperwork to let the assistant principal at my middle school know I’d be participating in competing with other kids at school to go to Washington D.C. I wrote an essay explaining who I was, how would this trip benefit my future, and why did I want to go to Washington D.C. I’d also be in charge of raising $500 on my own and also in the essay I had to explain how would I raise $500 on my own. I was settle to be
It was a warm April day and all of the students were let out of school for the day. I went home to finish packing with the help of my parents making sure that I had everything and I wasn 't forgetting. I was excited for a week now to go on the trip to Washington D.C. with the whole 8th grade class for a week.
Mom, dad I want to go to Seattle. I know you have heard me a bunch of times says this and you just look at me with confused eyes and say “Why, Seattle? Why do you want to go there?” And I always answer the same.“I don’t know.” I just know that I want to go there. There isn’t a specific reason only the desire to go there. I can’t tell you why I want to go there, but I can tell you where my desires for this city started. First when I heard the word Seattle for the first time, second from a T.V show called Frasier and the movie Sleepless in Seattle and last was why nobody else that I know wants to go there everybody wants to go to other citys but not Seattle this makes me desire to go there more.

Bob came home from school one day. When Bob walked inside, his mom Rachel asked him how his day was and he said that it was the best day yet. So they talked for awhile and his mom asked him what he feels is better, moving to a place where his grandma lives and to a new school, or staying here where he gets bullied and has a lakefront property. Rachel said he can think about it for only a few days. So a couple of days passed and Bob finally had made his decision, he walked up to his mom and said “I want to move to Washington”. Rachel said okay I will tell your father, Stewart and see what he thinks and then I will tell you what the plan is. Rachel said to Bob start packing so we don’t have to stay any longer than five days. Bob said he was done
Living in Northern Virginia allows me to visit a plethora of culture-enhancing sites around the Washington, D.C. area. For this assignment, I visited the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. which is located a few blocks from the National Mall which features the more popular Smithsonian Museums such as the Museums of American History, Air and Space, Natural History and the National Gallery of Art. Information about the Museum can be found on their official website: https://americanart.si.edu/.
All the people around me were excited and were in a very festive mood; and they all were perfectly allowed to do so. After all, it was the Fourth of July, Independence Day, and my birthday. I had a very pleasant feeling as I strolled through the row of tents at the beach with my friends by my side, as I observed countless people enjoying themselves under the summer sun in the commotion of the small festival. The city was quite festive – decorated by splashes of red, white, and blue everywhere. People occasionally wore a plastic Uncle Sam’s hat, wore patriotic boardshorts, or somehow showed off how American they were proud to be. It was a wonderful feeling and it was by far the best birthday that
This 4th of July I went to L.A. with my roommate to visit his family. I had been promising myself that I would go to the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the last three times I was in L.A. and this time I was determined to go. So After I had seen the fireworks at the La Verne high school.
It was about two years ago when I arrived in United States of America, and I still remember the day when I left my native country, Honduras. As I recall, one day previous to my departure, I visited my relatives who live in San Pedro Sula. They were all very happy for me to see me except my grandmother Isabel. She looked sad; even though she tried to smile at all times when I was talking to her, I knew that deep inside of her, her heart was broken because of my departure the next morning. I remember that I even told her, “Grandma, do not worry about me, I’ll be fine. I promise that I will write you letters and send you pictures as much as possible.” Here reply was, “I know sweetie I know you will.” Suddenly after she said that I started to cry. For som...
My heart was pounding as I boarded my flight leaving the Bangkok International Airport. A flight attendant in a grey dress with a red bow draped over her shoulder announced; “Welcome aboard flight AA350 to the United States.” My journey began that day.
On Sunday evening, I was supposed to fly to Lexington, Kentucky. However, the flight oversold, and we had no back up plan for how I was going to get to Mission Trip. Then my mom quickly searched flights, and we decided we would fly to Atlanta, and drive overnight in order to get me there in time. So we ran from the American terminal across the airport to the Delta terminal, scheduled a rental car, and prayed everything would work out. Luckily, it did. We got first class to Atlanta, and hopped in a cute little Ford C-Max, and drove 7 hours to Chavies, Kentucky.
Once we were done sightseeing we decided to head to Time Square and do some shopping. Before we got to Time Square, we saw a flea market and decided to stop and look around. They had just random things from the sellers like knives to Indian tribe trinkets.
