The alarm rang at 5.00 am, which made me jump out of my bed, springing off the balls of my feet and swinging my hands in the air for the first time out of excitement. “Time to go to Hershey Park”, cried my raring brother with an avidity. Later, we prepared ourselves for a long and elating journey to Pennsylvania. My heart started throbbing as if it’s going to leap out of my chest when I thought about going to a theme park after a long time. Thrilling sensation pierced in me as we were close to Pennsylvania. My first time visit to Pennsylvania made me adore the place as it was serene and tranquil infused with dense and hastily growing bushes and craggy mountains. The sky was Carolina blue spotted with patches of cirrus clouds. As we were …show more content…
traveling, I slightly pulled the car window down and touched the heavy air that blew through my face and brushed my skin with a chilly sensation. I still managed to admire the forest green nature, even when the chill wind penetrated into my eyes making me see the objects blurry. The woods glanced at me with its hazel eyes. The Mountains colored in shamrock green appeared like caressing the blue sky, gleaming and shimmering with rays of flashing sunlight. Traveling together with nature revitalized my sensory feelings. Finally, at 9.30 am we stepped in Hershey Park. I didn’t feel any weariness after the long four hour journey, I could only feel the exhilaration of experiencing the most thrilling rides after a period of two years. As soon as we entered inside we went to get our tickets, it cost $64 per person and we were five people. I have never been to a gargantuan amusement park before which made me forget about the expensive ticket and caused me only to feel the electrifying sensation permeating in my veins. After paying for our tickets, we entered in and visited the Hershey’s chocolate world which was one of the area attractions in the Hershey Park. We went to the ride inside the chocolate factory and garnered some information about making fresh Hershey chocolates. I felt an insatiable appetite for chocolate as I saw the real making of chocolates and sniffed the delighting aroma of fresh made chocolate varying from milk to dark flavors. They had animations and entertaining songs everywhere inside so children could spend a pleasant time with their family. At the end they gave us small bars of Hershey chocolates to savor which flavored heavenly. The chocolates were shiny and soon melted with one touch of my finger, then I whipped the aroma of the enchanting chocolate and the smell of the chocolate already filled my mouth with its taste. I broke the chocolate bar in half which made a “snap” sound. I slowly placed the small piece in my mouth, it was chocolaty and creamy and lingered around in my mouth even after I finished the piece. However, soon after tasting the chocolates, we went shopping and bought a huge box of fresh made Hershey chocolate bars. Yet, I was still wondering about the roller coasters that I’m going to experience soon. Like a dream come true, we started our first ride with Lightning racer, one of the most jaw-dropping ride.
It was a wine red roller coaster ride built in a terrific way that it was massive and breathtaking. We were standing in the long line and at last the attendant asked me to sit in the seating section of the coaster and I sat next to my sister. I was asked to put on my yellow seat belt and hold on to the black bar in my lap. A mixture of excitement and fear filled inside my mind. I was slowly taken up to 90-degree angle, suddenly all my happy and thrilling sensations to try all the rides was conquered by the nerve-racking emotion that impaled in my mind as I screamed at the top of my lungs when we were falling straight down from 90-degree angle. I took caught on the bar tightly, but still the feeling that I’m going to fall down was intense. My scream became the loudest uproar that caused my sister feel insecure about me and she was trying to pacify me down, but I couldn’t resist myself from the absolute threatening feeling. After the ride was done, we were asked to get up from the seat and my knees were frail but I managed to stand up and walk out and there was my sister running towards me and asked if I was alright. I still had a dizzy feeling, but I was alive. After the ride, I felt an intense adrenaline rush flow through my
veins. After two roller coaster rides taking my breath away, I decided to go on a Ferris wheel ride with bells on. The ride ascended to 100 feet in the air, which gave me a pleasant feeling riding it and watching the entire city from the top view of the ride. I feasted my eyes on seeing the gigantic view of the entire Hershey Park. On the right side, I saw the humongous water park filled with slides and water rides. There was this towering tidal force ride where people screamed out of fun, splashed through the water and got soaked completely. There were also hundreds of colorful water pipelines with inline tubing rides. People looked like tiny ants from the 100 feet Ferris wheel. Contrastingly, on the left side of the Ferris wheel, I saw 10 more spine-tingling roller coasters. “Ahhhhhhhhh”, I heard people riding in the roller coasters shrieking and squealing for life. However after a few hours, we decided to go on the Fahrenheit roller coaster. It was an extremely high speed ride. Even though I was heck scared, I decided to try it for fun. We waited for the ride in the line for an hour and suddenly in the middle there was a technical fault and the roller coaster stopped moving. I felt wretched for the people who were already in and they must be terrified. I heard alarm bells ringing in me as I was in a state of commotion when I saw the ride standing in 97-degree angle before the straight drop. I gulped my fear and trepidation of trying this ride down my throat and decided to quit. I was terror- stricken and I asked my dad that this ride would be dangerous as it already has technical fault. My dad’s reply was that, “Let’s face the chill wind as we already waited for an hour, so let’s wait for another hour so they could fix it and we can try going on the terrific ride”. After another hour I heard an audacious lady voice telling that the roller coaster is safe to ride now and apologized for the inconvenience. I entered in and my legs were hesitant, but I sat next to my dad. There was grayish seatbelts that goes around our shoulders and I carefully adjusted it and took a firm hold of the Black Hand bars to hold in my laps. This orange roller coaster elevated to 121 feet from the ground made me close my eyes. We were standing on the top of the biggest loop and we were tumbled down a 97- degree straight drop. My head started banging against the back of my seat with a great whump. I freaked out and scented the fear of falling to death. Finally, when the ride stopped, I had a hard time standing up as my legs were numb. Thus, after the ride my dad regretted taking me to this roller coaster. We tried seven rides, but we didn’t have enough time to try all the rides. We planned only for one day and we couldn’t enjoy to the max. At last, I said “Even for looking around the Hershey Park will take one week and one day for trying all the rides is just isn’t enough”. But, the Ferris wheel ride made me see the mountainous nature, immense amusement park built in a large scale and fun filled Water Park. So I could get to see all the rides from the Ferris wheel, but I couldn’t get more adrenaline rush from those rides. On one hand I was desolated that I couldn’t try all the rides, but on the other hand I felt secured by not trying all the rides. Moreover, this was the best summer as I experienced near death situations from the roller coasters and exuberant rides giving me an intense adrenaline flow through my body all day.
Have you ever looked off a gigantic cliff? Now imagine traveling 30 miles per hour on a bike with curvy roads with enormous cliffs on your side with no rails. This is exactly what I did with my family when we went to Colorado. From the hotel we drove to a bike tour place to take us to the summit of Pikes Peak. After we arrived at the building we saw pictures of how massive the cliffs were, but what terrified me was the fact they had no side rails. This observation was thrilling as well as terrifying. It was an odd mix of emotions, but I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me. My dad whispered to me, “ This will be absolutely horrifying”.
When the day came to leave I was woken at the crack of dawn. I was keen to get to Blackpool as swiftly as possible, not only for the football that was ahead of us but also for the famous Pleasure Beach. The coach picked us up at around 8 am and in we crammed into an already full coach. The journey down was full of laughter and friendly joking from the parents. That day, it was particularly hot and inside the coach a number of people were becoming uncomfortable. I was unaffected by the warmth inside the coach, with my earphones in I relaxed and paid more attention to the vast countryside we were passing through. The vivid scenery blew me away, with colossal hills to calm rivers that we met on the journey.
One summer morning, I woke up excited. My friends and I were going to Hershey Park. I’ve been busy this summer, so this is the first time I was able to go. Hershey Park is a big amusement park with big roller coasters and a big water park. The Fahrenheit is my favorite ride there. I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, and waited for them to pick me up at my house. While I sat on my couch, I had my bag with a towel and a bathing suit for the water park and I could put my phone there. I was ready to go.
As my family piled into our car for our four-hour drive, I sincerely hoped my brothers wouldn’t ruin the best chance that we’ve had in a long time. They were already arguing about who got what video game, and were not making my mom and dad feel any better about going. We were going to Illinois, to Chicago, to be even more specific. Chicago was the city I’d been dreaming about visiting for a long time. (Well, that and New York.) I could not believe that my parents were getting out of their comfort zone and taking us to a big city.
Have you ever been to Texas? I have been once. My trip to Texas was unbelievably awesome. I saw many of things on my way there. While we were there, I had loads of fun. Many things happened while we were there. Texas was the coolest place I have ever been.
We were next on line to go on that death trap. The ride people checked us for jewelry because it is a safety hazard. I got on the ride and then, “CLICK”, I was in and there was no getting out or turning back now! This one girl on the line next to us said, “I hope you do not die up there!” That was so nice of her to reassure us of our biggest fear. I started to breath deep, like when you are in yoga class and trying to relax but, this was not relaxing. I thought that I was going to use up all the oxygen in the world! Then I started thinking, am I going to die up there? Will I make it out alive? Will me and Kayla live till twelve? All of these questions whirled around in my head like, a big tornado staying in one and one place only; my head it was
One day in the 1740's, in the winter in Pennsylvania Colony… I'm Charles Schley, The picture above is my house. I'm in the upper class and work as a lawyer. I live with my two daughters and my mother. My two daughters are workers around the house and my mother sews. She is working on scarves and warm clothes for us.
It was about two years ago when I arrived in United States of America, and I still remember the day when I left my native country, Honduras. As I recall, one day previous to my departure, I visited my relatives who live in San Pedro Sula. They were all very happy for me to see me except my grandmother Isabel. She looked sad; even though she tried to smile at all times when I was talking to her, I knew that deep inside of her, her heart was broken because of my departure the next morning. I remember that I even told her, “Grandma, do not worry about me, I’ll be fine. I promise that I will write you letters and send you pictures as much as possible.” Here reply was, “I know sweetie I know you will.” Suddenly after she said that I started to cry. For som...
With music blasting, voices singing and talking, it was another typical ride to school with my sister. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three miles long and filled with little hills. As we broke the top of one of the small, blind hills in the middle of the right lane was a dead deer. Without any thought, purely by instinct I pulled the wheel of the car to the left and back over to the right. No big deal but I was going fast. The car swerved back to the left, to the right, to the left. Each time I could feel the car scratching the earth with its side. My body jolted with the sporadic movements of the car. The car swerved to the right for the last time. With my eyes sealed tight, I could feel my body float off the seat of the car.
The place where I would like to call me second home is located all the way down in Savanna Georgia. I can remember way back about nine years ago in the summer of 2008. The plane ride was a long and hot, and I spent the whole ride playing on my PSP. When I got off the plane I remembered walking through the freezing cold Savanna International Airport seeing all the flags of different countries hanging from the ceiling, but then taking one step out of the airport front doors looking for the car services that was rented and feeling the crushing 100°F heat and deathly humidity. But it is all worth the painful heat to spend time in the beautiful city.
The people buzzed around me like a locust swarm out looking for food. I sat down in the seat of the Hulk rollercoaster and felt the sweat of the person before me cooling my back. A man quickly came up and snapped my seat belt on in a hurry and I could feel the ride start to rumble and jump forward slightly
This area of the world is so foreign to my Oklahoma life; it infuses me with awe, and with an eerie feeling of being strongly enclosed by huge mountains, and the mass of tall trees. However, when my foot first steps onto the dusty trail it feels crazily magical. The clean, crisp air, the new smell of evergreen trees and freshly fallen rain is mixed with fragrances I can only guess at. It is like the world has just taken a steroid of enchantment! I take it all in, and embrace this new place before it leaves like a dream and reality robs the moment. As I turn and look at my family, I was caught by my reflection in their impressions. The hair raising mischief in the car was forgotten and now it was time to be caught up in this newness of life. It was as if the whole world around us had changed and everyone was ready to engulf themselves in it. The trickling of water somewhere in the distance and the faint noise of animals all brought the mountains to
After three hours we arrived at our first break stop. We stopped at a section that was on top of the waterfall. The view was amazing and spectacular because we had never seen anything like this. As we continued our hike after several more break stops, and nine more hours of hiking, we finally arrived at the top of El Capitan. Once we got to the top the view was amazing. We could not imagine how beautiful it was up there on top of the world. After about half an hour we started heading back down, when all of a sudden out of no where I felt someone push me out of the way. A man that was in a hurry to get back down pushed me so hard, that I lost my balance and fell of a twenty foot cliff. At that moment in time I could see flashbacks of my life. After a couple seconds of falling I somehow landed between two rocks which shattered my right foot. After that happen every one that was there tried to get help but unfortunately cell phones do not work in Yosemite, but the man that pushed me over the cliff had a walky-talky and he called for help.
The moment we stepped foot into the hospital, I could hear my aunt telling my mother that “he is in a better place now”. At that moment, something had already told me that my dad was deceased; it was like I could feel it or something. I felt the chills that all of a sudden came on my arms. As my mother and grandmother were both holding my hand, they took me into this small room. The walls were white, and it had a table with four tissue boxes sitting on the top. My other grandmother was there, and so were my two aunts, my uncles, and
Last year I got involved in a massive car accident. It was the most terrified part of life. It was the moment. I will never forget in my whole life. Before, I never realized how people really feel when a car accident happens. But,after this car accident I know what really it felt like. It was the moment. My mind was totally feared of driving. I was crushed by the hot metal and cold dirt of car. I was not feeling my arm,my body was numbed. It was felt like my lower body pressed down with monster force. All I could feel was the noise of car accident ringing in my ear.I was barely able to move my body. I was kept thinking. What my parents going to think about this? Where is my friend John? I looked through the window and saw the cars passing by
