Title In December 23 2013 I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando Florida with my soccer team to play the Disney world tournament at the ESPN sport center , it was a 10 day trip and there was so much activities to do over there. It was my first time traveling without my family. I was pretty scared, but excited at the same time because it would be a great experience for me. there was a downfall to all this as well, i wouldn’t be able to spend Christmas and the new year with my family i realized that right when the date was announced. i was sad for a little bit but then super happy because i’m going to be traveling to the other side of the country, going to play the disney tournament, go to Disney World, have great bonding time with the i noticed when we arrived at the field… it was too late to go back it was so embarrassing telling my coach that i left my kits at the hotel. i didn’t play the first half and my friend got injured and i ended up playing the 2nd half and we won 2-0 it was not the easiest game but it was good enough to get the win. that afternoon i thought to myself that i need to start learning responsibility because my parents weren’t with me to remind me about my uniform, i was 14 and i was grown enough to know that it’s my job to put my clothes in my bag and wake up early and to be on time. I said sorry to my coach about the whole incident and that it wouldn’t happen again. We moved forward from that and focused on the last game, so we had a team meeting in the coaches room the day before and he gave us an “inspirational” speech and honestly it worked we came out with a win in the 3rd game, it was really close! the final score was 3-2 we went into overtime and we scored a goal in the 2nd half. It was so great that we won all our 3 games because now the rest of the 3-4 days we have we can spend it as a team and we won’t be sad at all, we have that great feeling inside that we dominated the whole
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
The longest I’ve ever lived in one place was the nine years that my family and I lived in
The day of my grandparents had told me they have been wanting to go to the Florida Keys and asked if I would like to join. So of course i wanted to go. Oh and when they told me i could bring a friend along i was jumping with happiness inside. They told me we would be going for a couple weeks and they had all expenses covered. So that day I started talking to Jamie and asking her when she would be back, because at that time she was in Florida visiting family. She had told me she would be back . So i asked her is she would like to join me and take a trip to the Keys with me. I could tell she was so excited when i asked her because she texted me back all in caps and said “CALL ME”. So i called her to let her know all of the details. So she ended up getting back .So when she got back from Florida we went to Walmart and bought a lot of
We took the field in the second half. We won the face off this time. We went down the field, shot the ball, and the goalie saved it. He threw the ball up to his forward right in front of me, and I stepped up and hit the kid to prevent him from getting the pass and scoring. When I hit him, he fell straight to the ground and I couldn’t see where the ball was. It bounced and went in the net. I was so embarrassed at that point.
It took me a while to recover from the crushing loss. I didn't talk to anybody the rest of the day, and pretty much kept to myself. Charlie, James, and Kyle cheered me up a little with their wins in the finals. I almost forgot about the match completely when James won state, but afterwards it all came back to me. The match still haunts me today, but I think that it will do more good than harm. It will make me work harder this year to make sure that I don't get put in a situation like that again, and if I do then I will remember how bad it was to lose to someone that shouldn't have beat me. I'm convinced that it will make me work that much harder not to let it happen again. I got fourth at state as a Junior, which is pretty good, but that match will remain in my memory forever, and it will make me shoot for bigger and better things this year.
My memory of strolling up and down St. George Street in St. Augustine is more than just a cherished flashback, it’s the start of a new life. Prior to moving to Florida, both of my parents were in the Navy, resulting in our family having to move all around the East Coast frequently. When it was revealed that we would finally settle down in Florida, our first visit would be none other than the oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine. This memory of St. Augustine is so important to me because it piqued my interest in history, it gave me a chance to spend time with my mom, and I was able to witness my first sunset.
Every weekend my parents and I use to take trips to the mountains as a form of exercise and to also view the amazing scenery in Port-au-Prince Haiti where I am from. While traveling the mountains I saw gorgeous trees, flowers, and animals that I would not normally see in the city. It was quite peaceful and therefore be at one with nature. When I came to America specifically Miami, Florida it was awfully strange because I was still young and was not sure of where I was exactly. One major thing I notice was the inexistence of mountains and my family was constantly indoors watching television or on their computer which I didn’t have in Haiti because of the lack of electricity. As years went on by I became a home body as well, I developed an addiction
We previously had a discussion about you taking your family on a trip to Disney World. You stated that you weren’t able to decide if you wanted to fly or take a road trip. I understand that you came to me because I tend to travel a lot by way of different modes of transportation. And I truly appreciate you trusting my judgements. With my background working in the airline industry and traveling expertise, I can assure you that a flight would best suit you for this adventure.
The months passed by and I continued to grow as a person. As summer approached, I was told there was a trip to YellowStone National Park and they offered me a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend there. I thought to myself how big of an opportunity this is for me, I know it would be an amazing experience. I could not turn it down.
I went to the Orlando Zoo for the Halloween event and it was blend of spooky atmosphere and hilarious animals. While I was at the zoo I saw all kinds of decorations, and even the employees dressed up. The ticket taker there was even dressed up as a vampire. The majestic animals combined with the theme of Halloween was an interesting combination by seeing pumpkins in the exhibits and inflatables all over the park. Going to the zoo was also a pleasant way to experience the chill fall air mixed with the spooky fall atmosphere.
My first time visiting my dad’s country was one year ago. I got on the plane with my family, only expecting to have a great vacation. I expected to spend time on the beach, take a ton of pictures, buy souvenirs, and anything else that was deemed as ‘cool’ to tell my friends back home. What I ended up with though, was a vacation that resulted in me finding myself.
The “‘Vacation” One dazzling sunny day, my family and I took a vacation to the Bahamas. Once we got there, we took it upon us to go to the beach! As we were hiking along the beach we felt the cool breeze and could smell the salt water. When walking a little further, we spotted the enormous rocks. Water splashed on the rocks making a sploosh-sploosh sound.
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
My most memorable vacation was my trip to Orlando in 2010. That week, we went to Walt Disney World. I also went to a Titanic Exhibit down there. I remember getting to ride my favorite rides for the first time on that trip. I also remember seeing the nightly shows at Disney. It sounds like a simple trip to Florida, but it left me with some of my most precious childhood memories.
I awoke at 4:00 A.M. on the dot, that day; excitement ran through my body like electricity, twelve hours in a car had never sounded so appealing. South Carolina was the destination of the long ride, to be more specific Myrtle Beach, with its sandy beaches and its pleasant salty ocean aroma. I had never seen the ocean before, nor had I met my step father’s sister, Mandi, and her family, but I knew in my gut the torture from spending time with people I didn’t know would be worth feelings the sand between my toes and the ocean breeze on my face. Yes, this was going to be a great week.
