Personal Narrative: My Phelps Ace High School

Throughout high school, my experience was very difficult. The past three years at Wise high school have been difficult because I have transitioned from a small school to a huge school. It seemed like staying to myself was easier. It cut out on drama and unnecessary interactions. This helped me in school because each individual person shows their culture and they express it vibrantly. Being passively social in school helps me realized that there lots of opinions and point of views. I tend to take in more than what I spit out but it's because I want to hear people out and understand where they are coming from. Throughout my art classes, the teachers help me express myself without talking. It challenges me to be more creative and imaginative. My activities in school helped me as a person because I can show leadership skills. I can lead by example, in a positive way. In Phelps Ace High School, I became captain and uphold numerous positions in sports. By being captain of numerous sports(volleyball, basketball, softball, flag football), it helped me learn how to balance homework and sports. It taught me how to have the self-control to my problems with people because many of the sports required a team effort. …show more content…

It challenged me more than usual. Even though I love math, my teacher challenged me to be better at it. But while I was in a specialized high school in DC, I thought everything would be very easy. It became more difficult because it felt like I was behind in the learning process. But managing my positions and school was very hard. I tend to take sports more seriously than academics. Once I transferred schools, it became more difficult because it felt like I was behind in the learning process. By the end of my sophomore year, I was learning that my GPA is very big. I admit. I messed up but now that I know, I do not play around and I take my work very seriously. I found this through my teachers and guidance
