For this current academic school year, I received a nursing legacy scholarship, as well as a scholarship from the Marine Corp Scholarship Foundation. However, I did not receive enough to help pay for anything other than tuition. Books and room and board are being paid out of pocket, and because this school year in the nursing program is so strenuous, it is hard for me to work enough hours to pay for such things and then have the funds for other necessities such as food. Both of my parents are also going to school full time, and I have two younger siblings at home. My parents help me as much as they can, but given the circumstances I am currently trying to juggle around school, work, extracurricular activities, and other essential
Upon the completion of my high school career I was faced with the sudden realization that I was growing up and on the verge of becoming independent. A few months prior, I had applied to Montana State and received my acceptance letter. The future was before me and my ambitions were truly limitless. That is, until the fact set in that I was going to have to pay for this education that I desired. I knew that with my busy schedule, I would be unable to make enough money while only working a few hours here and there. I was beginning to lose sight of hope. Then one day I talked to my counsellor about what I could do and he pointed me towards dozens of scholarships that I could apply for. The exigence or purpose

I have been saving my 4-H money for college this whole time. This scholarship will help with books and other experiences I can put towards, as stated before my family has a low income and is unable to assist me. I wasn't expecting anything. I am not Entitled to anything my parents have worked for, only to what I
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
My Personal Philosophy of Nursing: Nurses are responsible for life long care, continuing education, and accountability for the practice of nursing. The philosophy of nursing is what I believe to be true about nursing, and provides a basis for the profession. Without reflecting on the philosophic system within the components of nursing, patient care may generate false generalizations. This can lead to unwarranted conclusions.
My interest in nursing first stemed when my grandfather was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Hospice had come into their home, and I was amazed at how they coped with their job. The people who took care of the person I loved the most, were compassionate and caring. Most of all they helped all of us through a time of need. During that time I realized helping people in whatever way I could in the medical field, was the career for me. My grandmother was also a nurse. She would tell me stories of when she worked in different hospitals. When I heard all of her experiences, I wanted to make memories of my own in the nursing field. This past summer, I took a CNA course at Valley Falls/Holton, Kansas. When I enrolled in this course, I thought
Scholarship is a concept that can mean many different things to many different people. As nursing students, scholarship is a concept that we began developing before we started our formal nursing education, will continue to hone during nursing school, and will utilize every day as professional nurses. Scholarship is not something that comes from a singular source, but rather something that is the product of many different experiences, ideas, and types of knowledge. For nurses, it is the synthesis of knowledge from liberal education, knowledge from a variety of disciplines, and the integration of ways of knowing and thinking in nursing that promote scholarship, which in turn leads to the promotion of safe, quality patient care.
In just 2 short years, I will be heading off to college. I want to get several scholarships that will help make the big cost more affordable for my parents and I. Getting these scholarships will make my life easier because I won’t have to worry and deal with paying off a huge amount of college debt that can be very depressing. The second part of my American Dream is my future income and job.
I started my Nursing career in India and then I came to the United States and became an RN. I entered Nursing with the thinking that Nursing is a profession that will always allow me to have a job and all my patients will get better. However, from my experiences I understood that Nursing is more than just giving medications, and it requires clinical competence, cultural sensitivity, ethics, caring for others, and life-long learning about others and the evolving field of medicine. Florence Nightingale once said:
After being a nurse for almost three years, I have reached to the conclusion that the nursing profession is like a journey that for some can be beautiful and challenging, for others, can be very difficult and unpleasant. A true nurse needs to have compassion, and the real need to help others not mattering the culture, sex, or race. Unfortunately, that is not always the case and it is there when I feel that I made the right decision when I choose to become a nurse taking this challenging journey.
This scholarship will help to support my progress in my education here at MSUM in many ways. If I have the opportunity to receive this scholarship, all of the scholarship money will be used directly towards my education costs. This scholarship would help me with textbook and classroom expenses, and tuition. As a sophomore in college, I hold two part-time jobs throughout the school year and work full-time over the summer to make sure that I am able to pay my way through schools and living expenses. Any aide is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.
When I found out that I was a recipient of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship, I was overjoyed to have an award that is directly related to an important part of my life. Without this scholarship, I do not believe I would have been able to attend Ohio University. My mother had been concerned about the cost of college, but receiving this honor helped her become more at ease with the idea of me going to a public university and not starting school at the local community college. I have now been in college for almost two months, and feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to pursue an education at my dream university. However, I am re-applying to this scholarship in the hopes of continuing to earn financial assistance from
My journey to nursing began with my personal healthcare experience, and has continued to evolve since entering the nursing program at State University. My personal philosophy of nursing is related my life experience and my personal philosophy of life. Using reflection-on-action, I have begun to understand the influences that have lead me to nursing. I discovered client and family centered care to be an important quality when I look at the influential nurses in my life. To develop a positive therapeutic nurse-client relationship, nurses must integrate all 5 dimensions of the therapeutic nurse-client relationship into their practice (CNO, 2006). When it comes to providing client-centered care, the dimensions of trust, empathy and respect are particularly important (CNO, 2006). Illness can be a traumatic experience for patients and their families, and it is important to be empathetic to the patient’s needs, while still trusting the patient to be an expert in their illness and care.
I have been working for Troy ISD in the Technology Department since December 2015 to earn money for college and have created my own business to repair technology components. With the reality my parents are not going to be able to pay for my college education, I fully expect to work while I attend Texas A&M to pay my expenses. I would really appreciate any scholarship I can receive to help me make my dream come true to be an Aggie and to receive a degree from Texas
I believe I should be awarded with this scholarship because I can not depend on receiving a soccer scholarship when I have yet to receive any calls. I need help paying for my tuition, housing, and books. We all know how expensive that can be. It's not just those things I have to pay for, I also have to pay for lunch, toiletries, car maintenance, and other things adults have to pay for on an everyday basis. I already have a list of things to pay for, but i don't have a job. I want to be a cardiologist and help people who have heart diseases, heart murmurs and other major problems young and older people face. I want to encourage people to avoid these problems so they can live a long and healthy life. I've been told I would not receive a lot
