Personal Narrative: My Interest In USC

For years I have observed the business field and have always had an interest in USC. Being a native of Southern California and having lived in the area my whole life, I have always viewed USC as the most prestigious academic institution in all of California. As I have grown older, my desire to immerse myself in the campus and the business field have peaked. Attending USC Summer School will allow me obtain a first person experience and gain advice and expertise from professionals in the field. The day trips and guest speakers would allow for a first person experience into the life of a businessman along with the proper keys and steps necessary to achieve success. In addition, I would like to become more familiar with the campus as I plan on applying to become a first-year student in the fall. Personally, I’ve interned for a handful of companies and the knowledge I’ve gained from them has been far greater than anything I’ve read in a textbook. My current business marketing course has given me the opportunity to speak with various CEO’s and marketing directors whom have taught me useful information regarding their occupations. My father is in the real estate field and I aim to follow to his steps and push boundaries and reach new heights as his successor. Ever since I was in elementary school, I have had inclinations of engaging in commerce. My introduction to commerce was through one of my passions: basketball. Nearly every Saturday morning I would line up outside the local sneaker store and purchase the most desirable releases and resell them.
