My Three Favorite Noncompetitive Activities
The three different activities I like is bicycling, camping, and hiking. I got interested in camping because, you get to see the outdoors, and see the stars, and eat burnt marshmallows. This is very fun. Also, because this is a group activity. I also got interested in hiking because, it keeps you in shape, and its just plain fun and it is a dual activity. I got interested in bicycling because, you get to travel around in it, and it keeps you in shape, and it is very fun. And, because it is an individual activity.
When I went to camp I got to fish, swim, and tell scary stories, and sleep in tents. It was a lot of fun. We got to pick our camp grounds. We got to make camp fires, so we can cook our food. We are also able to see the stars at night. We can?t really see the stars in the cities, because there is too much light. But anyways we had a lot of fun camping.
Bicycling is also a lot of fun. You can travel anywhere on a bicycle. It keeps you in shape, and it is fun. But you have to be careful of glass or nails, or else your tires might become flat. But other than that, it can be a lot of fun. You can get a really strong workout with a bicycle. You can have races against other people. You can take it with you camping and to the beach.
Hiking is a lot of fun. It keeps you in good shape. It exercises your body. It helps your brain to think and learn. You can also race against other people. You can see the great out doors if you are hiking in the woods. You can see different kinds of birds and trees and people. Well I can tell you this much, hiking is a lot of fun.
The thing that brings me the greatest joy is physical activity. I love outdoor sports and working out in the gym. During my school years I actively took part in football and basketball competitions, and then with the growing awareness about fitness and general health turned towards the gym. Working out in the gym proves to be a stress buster for me, provides me with increased energy levels and gives me enhanced confidence. This helps me to focus more clearly and bring situational awareness to all my endeavors. My quest to keep testing my limits gives me the confidence to handle new challenges and strive for excellence in all my goals. Exercise and other physical activities keep me calm and make me feel at
... hikers to experience the wilderness the way it was initially intended. With unpredictable weather, wildlife, etc. Where hikers are granted the freedom to make their own decisions. As much as the tangible dangers hinder the journey one may face during the trail--the desire, attitude and the love for hiking are perhaps what keeps them yearning for the next level.
I have lived in a little town called Packwood all my life and it is the last town on Highway 12, you see before you enter the park. Since I was little, I spent my summer camping and being in the park. My father sells campfire wood in two of the bigger campgrounds in the park, White River and Ohanapecosh Campground. So I would join him and help him with the firewood, so I grew up in the park. There are so many things you can do in the park, like hiking up to a former fire lookout, hiking down into a lake and fishing.
Backcountry camping is wonderful so we can get away from all the stresses of work, home and life in general. We leave conveniences and comforts but are not seeking to do things the hardest way possible.
Throughout the A.T. backpackers experience wildlife and challenges that help them in various ways. Self-confidence is a great skill accomplished as well as self discovery and commitment. The time it takes gives travelers time to discover themselves while walking the beautiful trail. Hikers who hike for a hobby and/or exercise also take away experiences from a trail traveled by many. Whether traveled non stop or by sections, the Appalachian Trail is a great adventure for almost any hiker to enjoy.
Bicycling was an exciting experience for two reasons. First, it has allowed me to travel around the city. Second, it gives me a chance to hang out with my friends. I love bicycling, I think it is fabulous! I can now observe my city, the people that lived there, the architecture, and the trees and animals, etc. Sometimes in our life, we just need to slow down our pace. We're so used to rushing through life that we don't even know what we have missed, but It's hard to blame ourselves because we're busy about our jobs especially when we were living in the city. I was once like that; I head right straight to school when it's time for school. As I walk I would only stare at my watch instead if looking to my left and/ or right.
They have many to choose from. I choose to hike the Alum Cave. It had a moderate difficulty level and was about 4 miles long. Now since I have never hiked before I tried to choose one that was less as difficult as the rest. I was over excited to take on my first hiking challenge. It started out smooth sailing. I smelled the summer blooms and heard birds singing. I thought to myself this should be easy. Until the stairs became steeper and steeper and the dust from the other hikers filled my mouth. The touch of the mountain was like no other, it was rough, dry and fuzzy. The sound of the water falling from the water falls really helped me make it through cause I couldn’t wait to see what was ahead of me. Once I reached the top I was speechless. The view of the 80ft waterfall streaming down the mountain was remarkable. The air tasted so pure and fresh. I felt like I had accomplished the most challenging thing and was rewarded by nature’s beauty. Hiking is not for everyone but if you haven’t given it a try I recommend trying it at least
I would tell myself to be more competitive. Not with others, as I believe the best way to grow to be a more tolerant and knowledgeable person is by actively seeking out and working with peers, but instead to be more competitive with myself. I would tell myself to never be satisfied with my current limits and to find joy in striving to end each day as a better and more erudite person than I was when I woke up.
Reading and writing has always played a vital part in my life. From toddler to adult, pre-elementary to college, I’ve managed to sharpen both skills to my liking. However, even though it significantly helped, schooling was not what influenced me to continue developing those skills into talent. Many different things shaped and influenced my learning, and now reading and writing have become the safety net of my life. I know that even if I have nothing else in the future, I’ll still have my talent and knowledge. To ensure my success, I hope to further develop those skills so that I may fulfill my wishes.
From the friendships they can make that will last a lifetime, to the distinct memories they have of campfire traditions, camp is laced with immeasurable meaning. The skills that children learn and practice at camp can become a part of their identity, and may even grow into passions that they will continue to pursue as an adult. Whether they want it or not, the songs with constantly haunt them throughout the years and though they claim to hate it, they secretly enjoy the reminder of summer fun and adventure. One thing camp taught me that I find of value today, is to say “yes!” to adventures and working with my team to accomplish outrageously fun challenges and
Everybody has different hobbies that he or she would like to do for fun or relaxation. They can be either physical activities like jogging, football, swimming, skateboarding… or mental activities like reading, watching movies, playing computers… and depend on each personality. For me, soccer is my hobby because it’s part of my life and I cannot live without it.
Biking Mountain biking can bring you places, and new experiences that you would never see or do if you didn't bike. Biking has taken me new places such as whistler B.C which is just one example of the amazing places biking has taken me. Biking has been around since 1817 when a German man by the name of German Baron Karl Von Drais, but they didn't become popular until the late 1800s.(associates 2010) Even though it can be dangerous, and there are risks, in the end if you take it easy biking will help you. Biking will snap you into shape if you ride enough, and it brings you places plus you get to see new things.
Ever since I was little I’ve been what you would call a “high achieving” kid. I did well in school, I did well in sports and I did well in my community. I was always the first one to class, and the last one to leave the field. I was the kid that all my friends’ parents compared their children to. I was the kid with a room full of trophies and awards. In my mind, the worst possible thing I could do was disappoint the people around me. In elementary school I was involved in every club imaginable. I was in the band, I played in the orchestra, I sang solos for chorus, I was in the math club, I was president of student council, I played travel soccer, I was involved in every activity possible, and I excelled in all of them. This
Leisure time, each person thinks of something different when they hear this. While reading an essay by Gregory A. Miller about "The Many Benefits of Hiking” I got to thinking what my favorite features and benefits of hiking are. My favorite thing to do in my leisure time is hiking because it calms my mind, it 's great for the body, and I enjoy doing all I can for our earth along the way.
